Great video! Amazing how much damage the dial saves below it, it acts like a guard! Yes, the balance on Rolexes are as per all parts reassuringly expensive, about £450 I think. I wonder if the cannon pinion tooth was already broken? I’m surprised the balance hairspring wasn’t all bent up. My dryer went mad recently and when I took my parts out the hairspring was all bent and twisted brim the heat. I did re straighten it, but it took a good few hours!
I’ve dealt with a lot worse before, this one should clean up nicely ! Will be a great story / keepsake for the client as well thanks for watching & commenting!
Good guess my only thing would be how would it transfer through the caseback? I did see some of the painted lettering on the bridges was gone maybe it was paint? I’m stumped haha first one I’ve seen with this stuff! Thanks for tuning in
A burnt watch looks horrible, but in reality it's possible that it would be cheaper to repair than a badly water damaged watch, where the water has been stayed for some time, the watch ever been tried to dry out properly.
At least you're making some thing awesome out of a bad situation for the clients. Killer work.
I try! Anything to help ease the situation a little.. as well as they get a nice story to go with it! Thanks for tuning in 🙏🏻

Great to see your not parting it out. It certainly is a mess, but will be fun to see the restoration.

Супер 👏 Пожалуйста побольше таких видео ❤️
Thank you!! And more to come
Awesome vid mate. More please. Mind sharing how much restoration like this cost the unfortunate client?
I would say that the yellow stuff on the watch was from the wood as it burned and gave off it's sap.

🔥🔥🔥🔥
Appreciate you!
Some of the other watch restorers would look at that and say "nice patina".
I said the same thing here 😂

I’ve repaired just about every damage, fire, water, road rash etc they all get pretty costly in the end. Water damage is definitely worse though!
Maybe the gluelike stuff is some of the evaporated lacquer from the dial?
👍👍👍
Fire proof safes are not actually fire proof, they are fire resistant and most stuff will still be ruined.
YES Very big misconception!
Melted gasket?
Good guess, but all gaskets were fully intact in the back side. Crystal popped due to heat ! Same for bezel
👍
what kinda fool damages his watch like that?
Stick a fork in it, cause it's toast!
I'll come back to this comment when you hit 100k subs in 12 months.
Screen shot taken so I can remember this ty for the support🙏🏻
