@@sugahsweetart I may not have all these sets, but I'm a colored pencil nerd (besides absolutely loving your coloring style) and I just enjoy hearing all about different pencils, as I know many others do, too. You never know when someone will buy another set, and this is all great info!
All you have to do is go buy a 160 and 72 set and you too can have a great geek story to match!!! haha Im so glad you liked this one Beth! I appreciate you!
Hey there! Fellow colored pencil geek here. I just wanted to say that I have the Zenacolor 120 pencil set which I bought a few years back. They ended up sending me a second set because the first one had two of the same pencils. In the second set, there were several pencils that were different colored but the same number as the first set. I ended up giving one of the sets away, but I was just confused about it as you are. I love these types of videos, however, I don't use things like Facebook. It's great when you share this type of video on UA-cam. I am a total nerd for colored pencils and I look forward to your next video. 😊 By the way, I do have the swatch card that came with the Zenacolor pencils if you want me to send you a picture of it so you can compare it to your swatch cards.
My there Super Geek!!! When you say they were different colors but same numbers, are you saying the names were different too? I think out of everything, that is the most jarring to my brain! As you can see from the number of views this one has compared to my other videos...you are a rarity when it comes to your interest haha. I knew this would not be so popular among the masses. I hate that you can't come join me on FB. I draw freebies there and share work from upcoming projects. It sounds like it would have been right up your alley!!!
That actually means a lot to me. As you can see this one isnt so popular compared to the views of my other ones....so I am glad you seem to appreciate the little things! I really appreciate you!!!
Once upon a time there used to be ‘quality assurance’. That was back in the day when things were made to be kept for years. (I’m old) Companies would have a Quality Assurance Department and checks were made of products before they left the factory. I can’t believe the crap that we get these days now that pretty much everything is made in one part of the world. Unfortunately they don’t care about quality, only mass production. So sad 😞
Right!!!! But the colors being lighter/darker aside. I can not wrap my brain around how a small set has unique colors and the 26o set has them as well. This means they are actually printing unique colors for each set?!?!?!?! Im baffled I tell ya....BEFFLED!!! 🤪
I'm interested in trying these pencils. On a similar note...a while ago I got the 4th generation 24 colors of a company's watercolors set and then on a gift, someone gave me the 36 colors version. I was expecting to have at least 24 duplicated colors. To my surprise some colors in the 24 were not in the 36 and some on the 36 were not in the 24. So overall they had 48 unique colors which I thought was weird. Their paints are amazing so I am happy with that😊. Anyways, some companies do that...
Loved this. It would drive me crazy too. I don't have any answers for you though as I've never bought the zenacolor pencils. Please let us know if you get any updates.
Now I’m sad again that I don’t have all the colors in my 120 set😢😢😢 lol. Oh woah.... Thats so confusing. Hopefully a bunch of people reach out so you can find out why colours with the same numbers look different! Very intrigued. That would drive me nuts
@@sugahsweetart hahaha I need to have a collection to be able to think through it. I wonder if they are 2 different series? Some of the pairs of colours that didnt match had colours that looked more true to their names based on other pencils brands. I wonder if one set was older than the other or manufactured with more precise colours as a new change? But then if they both have weirdness then im stumped 😅
Wow! That's so bizarre! Wonder what the company would have to say about that?!!! Did they change their formula or something and therefore their color line up? I'm not on Facebook much, so I appreciate you bringing these types of things here as well.
I thought the exact same at first. But that means they are creating Pewter, Azure, and Fawn specifically for their 72. And creating Yellow, Blue, and Mimosa specifically for their 160. WHY?!?!?!?! If you jump back on FB be sure to swing by my page!!!
1. Let your geek flag fly. The differences in colors, numbers, and names was fascinating. 2. Could it be a timeline issue? ie: They set up their numbers in 2009 one way and you have a set of those, and then they re-did the color set up in 2023 and the new set is under those rules? Do pencil companies even do that?? I don't know. Ha 3. Love the shirt!
@@sugahsweetart I am in Europe and I got them from several shops but years apart. The numbering was totally messed up after that. The larger set has numbers that have been used for the smaller set already for different colors. It is just a big mess. I figure that they just implemented a totally different numbering system for the newer set.
@@sugahsweetart No, the colors exist in the large set as well, but they have different numbers, which is very silly and confusing. They added new colors to the old set, but they partially used numbers that were already used in the old, smaller set, but then for different colors.
