These Rainbows were the first egg laying g fish after I started on German Rams. I got into the rainbows by accident after buying 8 very small specimens for my 50 gallon community. I unknowingly move back some java moss around and apparently had eggs but not finding out until fry hatched and started growing in three other tanks and shrimp tanks. Now I use the mop system every once in a while to replace some that were deformed or lived their time. It was very exciting for me even after the GBR BREEDING.but so much work, glad I’m retired. Good luck with the eggs. I actually never saw them at first and still don’t but they are there after watching the spawn dances in the morning.
Tom's channel looks interesting - I'm subscribed! This should be a fun adventure from mail order eggs to spawning adults. Let's not go crazy though and try and be a tilapia farm. ;)
the hookup for sure! you're right lol I left some of the water in the bag the mops came in just in the garage in a small plastic cup and sure enough...4-5 swimmers already
Do the males always have red fins even at young age. It seems like the local stores always have female with yellow fins. And online they won't sex them for you.

My boesemani’s lay eggs all the time, unfortunately they get eaten while 2 hours or less 😬
Now let’s not go crazy 🤪 LoL. I need to first hook myself up with some L134 eggs. 😞 Wild Caught are tough.
