Devin isn't meant to be evil like Dimitri or tenpenny or even Lance or Sonny Foreli, he is meant more so to be able to ruin Franklin,Trevor,and Micheal's life
I’d say Devin is worse than Lance, but Lance isn’t that of a bad person. His relationship with Tommy has two sides of the coin, and ultimately they were both wrong with how they treated each other but I feel that people judge Lance unfairly. The way I see it, one of Lance’s biggest faults can be compared with Tommy’s - when he pissed of Sonny he was risked and received the same reaction as the Vances did with the Mendez brothers. Tommy is as much of a trouble maker as Lance. But at the same time he is greedier and more power hungry than Lance, and I also think he’s highly narcissistic as well.
@@justsomeguy747 Honestly! Lance was right about Tommy, look at what he did to Ken. If Lance never betrayed Tommy, he would've been Rubbed out too. Not Necessarily killed, but will Probably be abandoned. Lance was a Trouble-Maker but he was not an Idiot. He just found himself in the Wrong Company of Forelli.
@@mohdadeeb1829 I think Tommy is between the lines of an egotistical guy or a narcissist. Tommy constantly cannot see things from others perspective and only attributed his success and growth to himself. Him saying the Vercetti crime family is his operation shows that. Honestly maybe fear also motivated Lance to betray Tommy, but it goes deeper than that.
Well done with the Season. Devin is a pretty underrated character, and an even more underrated antagonist. One of Devin’s key qualities is that he’s incredibly charming. Dimitri seems reasonable but slightly devious at first. Tenpenny’s charm doesn’t shy away from the fact that he’s a psychotic evil rapist, it basically doesn’t do him any good to his dialogue and image. I honestly don’t think it’s meant to make the player think otherwise. He’s just a despicable asshole who makes you shiver with fear. Bulgarin is charming and friendly but doesn’t hide his temper. But Devin takes the cake - he doesn’t show how calculated and cold minded he really is. Devin’s charm makes him look pretty much harmless, and he does so very cleverly. He’s a con artist, but ended up pissing off the wrong people. Devin’s extreme greed ultimately caused his downfall, and his habit to step on the weak or poor in his eyes completely accelerated his death. What I like about his death is how unique it is-ok hear me out: A, he is the first main antagonist to be betrayed by the protagonist, B, he is killed by three characters, and his death mimics Michael and Trevor’s deaths - like Trevor, he dies humiliated and beaten, and in his car like Trevor did more or less, and like Michael and Trevor he is betrayed by Franklin and plummets to his doom from the top, as Michael’s uncanonised death is. Devin is what Michael would have been if he didn’t have his family, if he truly was a complete liar and a cheat, a completely successful robber, and a successful person who enjoyed the very essence of greediness. One major plus is that unlike Michael, Devin truly enjoyed his wealth, and Michael probably disliked that about him out of jealousy.
@@onlypardo3902 I wish I can play all of them before GTA 6 arrives. Unfortunately I might not be allowed to buy all of these despite being able to afford them.
@Just A Guy he is the hidden primary antagonist (Like for example John Kramer in the first Saw or Al Mualim in the first Assassin's Creed). We know that he is the main antagonist, but this is revealed only at the very end of history. Up to this point, the main threat was the secondary antagonist .
Devon Westin is the coolest antagonist in gta v. I mean he owns several things such as studios, shopping malls, and foot ball teams, is a billionaire, and even the president let’s him finger his wifeZ
Devin is a different sort to most of the other GTAntagonists. Though a some of his plans fall through, he never falls into desperation. Many of the other villains have moments where they underestimate the main characters and it leads to their operations crumbling, their support systems falling apart, their money running dry and their forces being either decimated or abandoning them for lack of pay or loyalty. Devin, on the other hand, doesn't really have that happen. His operation is still in place, he still has Merriweather, and he's still stupid rich and shows no signs of slowing down the growth of his wealth. In any other GTA game, he'd probably have gotten away with it. The problem? In other GTAs, the antagonist only has to deal with one "force of nature" protagonist. Devin had to deal with three. Plus Lamarr. If even one of those elements weren't in place, The Third Way would've probably been a tragic ending.
You know... Devin probably organized the cops to try and stop Frank and co from delivering the cars. Molly seemed rather surprised that they actually got away. Fits his nature too, hire them to do the dirty work and then have them arrested as arranged. Then take the cars since he funded the police buildings and other ventures.

Right off the bat I have to say that I don't think devin was born and raised in los santos, on his website he said that he has never worked a 9 to 5 in *this* timezone, referring to the timezone in san andreas, so most likely he started off in another city/state where he worked a normal job for not very long and then moved there to go to vespucci college when he was about 20. Also, he most likely did not inherit his money, he says he made his first million a year after college implying that he did not inherit them
I wish all of the antagonists in gta 5 also has a sad backstory just like the protagonists so we can sympathize with them as well. I like to imagine that Devin Weston used to get bullied at school when he was a teenager so he learned how to fight, got a black belt and managed to beat up everyone who bullied him in one setting. He got very successful when he grew up and became a billionaire. He was never well liked in school and people just seem to mistreat him but all the people who used to bully him wants to be his friend after he got rich. GTA 5 story is so bad and boring and to be honest I don't like the whole GTA 5 as well. It is like an interactive movie with constant talking and cutscenes and handholding. I play GTA 4 to this day and GTA 5... I watched a let's play in 2013 and didn't want to play the game since.
@Alison Souder Yes.
What I didn't like about the game is the players and npc's are so fragile. They can trip on oxygen and they die.
@@tiadove Yeah that is true.

GTA 5's story is definitely not Great, but it's not bad either.
And GTA 5 is definitely not a Bad Game, if you dislike it, fine.
I will say that San Andreas and 4 is better than GTA 5 but it's better than GTA 3, LCS, Advanced or CTW.
GTA 5 did not have the best story in my opinion. The main characters I didn't adore. The villains were weak but it's a beautiful game. In my opinion San Andreas is the most unique GTA game which is why it's my favorite.
