  • This is a steep, advanced glade area in the remote Beavers terrain zone of A-Basin. It was easily the toughest run I had ever done up to this point as a predominantly intermediate-advanced skier but it was an extremely good area and felt like a gem of a find after fresh snow with very few people around.
There are four paths down through the trees but they all mix together, just labeling this as Alex because that's the sign we passed at the top. All of them are named after former resort rescue dogs or something, I think?

Would you recommend skiing here over other resorts in Colorado? I’ve only been to California and Utah. But want to ski CO too😊

Great ski area. Not huge, but high quality and challenging terrain. Also unlimited tree skiing.
Some phenomenal hike to / hike out of terrain, but if you choose not to hike the general lack of flat spots and catwalks is great....pretty easy get around without ever getting stuck, even for snowboarders 😂😂😂
But very limited park, and beginner terrain, literally 0 green runs above mid mountain
It's rocky so look out for sharks/ thin coverage, but that's CO in general...we don't get those big dumps that the sierras get
Eaat wall expert terrain may not open until March, our drier and less plentiful snow just doesn't stick to the gnar Meanwhile I was living in Mammoth the year it dumped 4-5ft on Oct 22st and the entire moutain opened ahead of schedule

Over other CO resorts, absolutely. Cheaper, less crowded, incredible terrain. The mountain layout is also very simple and easy to navigate while still being full of little secrets and hidden gem trails.
The access road is one of the more difficult ones in CO but it is so worth it especially if you have ikon pass

@@samshearer7020 the access over Loveland Pass is actually a lovely drive, but can close during storms, but the parking situation is attrocious, and getting much worse with their parking policies for next season. All you said is spot on though.
