I like a lot of you choices. Especially “The Nail” “ Kingdom Come” and “Tower of Babel”. I do think calling the original Crisis on Infinite Earths a Justice League story is a bit of a stretch but I will allow it, lol. You hold the New 52 in much higher regard then I do. I felt the stories were average JL adventures at best and Jim Lee’s art is the best thing about the book. They definitely wouldn’t make my Top Twenty but I have been reading Justice League for almost 40 years and have seen and read much better. But we all are entitled to our opinions on favorite stories so who am I to judge right lol. I will throw out one you might not have read. Justice League of America #171(10/1979)-#172(11/1979). It’s one of the annual JLA/JSA Earth1&2 crossover stories. It’s basically “Who Killed Mister Terrific” it kinda opens the door for Michael Holt to take up the mantle in the late 90’s. Great Bronze Age superhero team story in my humble opinion. Check it out if you can.
Justice League Of America #140 was adapted in the episodes "In Blackest Night Parts 1 and 2" from the Justice League animated series. Only the Green lantern their was John Stewart.
I absolutely loved this video. Great, great list here with some heavy hitters. I’ve read most but not all of these, which I need to get around to, kudos to you my man. And I’m right there with you on Injustice! I love it. Can’t wait for the animated movie
Issue #200 is my favorite. It is self-contained in one Issue and puts the original 7 v the newer members against each other, then the original 7 team up with the others to defeat the enemy. No ads - just a compelling story.
As a life-long Justice League fan with my complete collection going back to Justice League of America #1 (the 1960 original) I was looking forward to this video. Great analysis as always. I assumed I'd have ALL the issues you showcased (minus the book from 2019 since I stopped getting new issues of comics in 2018) so I was stunned that I missed your #1 from 2013 and don't have that series. Will check it out. Big fan of the Steve Englehart run from the late 70s of which you mentioned a key issue.
I think you've made some solid choices, but my problem with most lists like this--and this list is no exception--is that they generally lack historical perspective. Specifically, it is nearly inconceivable that there could be a JLA top 20 list without even one entry written by the great Gardner Fox.
Great list. I would add a couple honorable mentions: Justice League of America 171-172, a classic team up with the Justice Society to find out who killed Mr. Terrific, and JLA World Without Grownups which features younger heroes who are sidekicks/associates of Justice Leaguers (Tim Drake as Robin, Cassie Sandsmark as Wonder Girl, Superboy from Return of Superman, Impulse).
Batman is my favorite character. But as far as Justice League I really enjoyed the early JLA run with Kyle Rayner as Green Lantern and Wally West as Flash.
Thank you for some older league title inclusions. I already have issue 200 and you have provided some focus on some other interesting issues to get. Also, now I know where that justice league animated story regarding the manhunters originated from.
I need to read all most of these TBH. The JL books that I did read are: Scott Snyder's run on JL JLA The Tornado's Path JL:Throne of Atlantis and currently,Justice League:Infinity
You mentioned the Tower of Babel sequel, but I'd have LOVED to see an honorable mention of the JSA sequel to Kingdom Come by GJ with tons of beautiful art by Alex Ross. Other than that, a terrific video! But where's the JSA love!?!
For historical purposes, I would add Flash 123,129,137 then Justice League of America 21 & 22. as must reads. They laid the groundwork. Thanks for the list.
I've read all except 3 of the single issued old-school ones. Damn the nail and another nail were fantastic and infinite crisis is number 1 to me then injustice and did you notice the jla Morrison first issues those criminals being executed were wolverine and dr doom
Here's an idea: Review all the "DC Universe Animated Original Movies" or maybe only all Batman animated movies. There's a box set from a few years ago with 18 of the Batman animated movies for $50 new. I haven't seen all the Batman ones, but I have been disappointed by many of the ones I have seen. Oh, and I hope there will be a "Yard Sale Part Two(and Three) this fall. I'd go back to the guy with the Batman longbox and Daredevil comic book. He. Has. More.
Glad to see "DC: The New Frontier" on the list. Speaking from September 2022, "Batman: Fortress" has been good so far. And so has "Superman: Space Age." Both have been good Justice League stories so far, despite being Batman and Superman titles.
I only have 4 of these.. Haven't even heard of the others! As for favourite JLA member, its Batman (is he officially a member? Or still 'part-time' haha) for the simple reason that he is unlike all of the rest. He's willing to do what most of them wouldn't if it means protecting the innocent. I liked him ever since I was old enough, and loved him 100x more because of Tower of Babel. When I first read that, it was insane how he had been keeping secret files on each of them, but then at the end, when they're voting and it comes down to Superman, you don't know how the vote goes because he left the tower. Man, so damn good. Just the fact that he's THAT level of paranoid and prepared is the reason he's my fave. 🦇 = 💯💯💯
I really like the Injustice series, I just wish they had an actual comic of the video game (not that lame Harley Quin one) and I never understood why they didn't just make that comic.
Favorite JLAer? BATMAN! Always Batman. It was JLA books that first got me started in comics back in the mid 70s. I was digging it when they showed the headshots of each hero along the sides of the covers.
Damn I miss grant Morrison's jla run, it's my fav justice league run of all! My fav jla character is probably Wally west flash, but I also loved booster gold in justice league international
A story I loved that nobody seems to care about is Justice League Europe #15-19 The Extremists Vector. It just hit all the right notes for me back in the day.
Oh thank god... I read your comment and was like NOT AGAIN!!! I had to delete it yesterday as it only had a few views after an hour... very atypical and made me think something was wrong with youtube. Glad you stuck around for the re-upload!
@@MintHunterComics Ah, I was a bit unclear there, yeah, it was yesterday. Your last videos have been stuck on 360p all day, usually that means it is still uploading and the 1080p or larger will be available a little later.
Nope! I made a massive list and only added stoires I gave a "B" or up, I gave that one a B- actually. It's fun but too polarizing and I don't love the ending
Glad to see someone giving Justice League some love. With the exception of about 3 on your list, I have or have read the rest. Any thoughts on Dark, Odyssey, Elite, International, Europe and other Elseworlds stories? Thanks.
Admittedly outside of the Giffen/DeMatteis stuff I haven’t read much Justice League. Inside that knowledge however I’d say that JLI Annual 2 provides a very satisfying self contained story that I find to be infinitely re-readable. I’ve really gotta check out Grant Morrison’s run on the book, as I’ve liked a lot of his other DC work.
Justice League is DC Avengers. They deserve a great movie trilogy. I like the comics from the 1980s and later. Really good writers did make great stories for us all. Just DC Rebirth's Justice League was not so good.🖖

I loved world war 3 by Morrison.
Possibly my favorite from his run.
For me Kindom Come is my personal favorite. Followed by injustice.
The best mate! i like the way you narrate and explain! your knowledge is huge! you should become a DC ambassador!
My favorite JL character has to be Blue Beetle. Because nothing bothers him. He just doesn't care, and hilarious!

Just completed my single issue collection of Crisis on Infinite Earths today…found #1, 6, & 7 all in back issue bins for cheap!
Thems some solid dollar finds #daymn
I love all the What If/Elseworlds stories, but have avoided Injustice for the reason you mentioned. Looks like I'm going to have to pick it up now!
No.19 seems pretty interesting, good video glad to see some books from my collection here
Glad you enjoyed! Some solid reads in here!

I've read most of these and they're great, but Kingdom Come and Justice after it?......God I love Alex Ross's work!
He's a wizard dude. Such beautiful stuff
Batman is my favorite character. But as far as Justice League I really enjoyed the early JLA run with Kyle Rayner as Green Lantern and Wally West as Flash.
Solid recommendations - glad to see Rock of Ages on here!
Oh no DOUBT
Another home run!! Great books!

I need to go read all of these. Or re-read for some of them.
Good man, you'll have a blast
Awesome List
been scooping up Batman 609 1st Hush, i think thats a sleeper. also found some Strange Tales #169, 2 to be exact...didnt know i had them..
Wow on those tales! 609 is a beaut
Not bad list. JLI def should have been on the list. John Stewart was my favourite character in the animated show.
I need to read all most of these TBH. The JL books that I did read are:

Shoutout to anyone who saw this yesterday lol!

Dark Nights Metal not a Justice League story?
