My older brother was a steel guitar player and played behind Ferlin at a country music park outside Indianapolis. I was maybe 6 or 7 years old when I got to me him. Liked Ferlin quite a lot from then on; he was a down to earth good person as far as I could tell, not haughty and pretentious like some of the other stars. Also met Marty Robbins on a different Sunday at that same park; a wonderful man also.

Singers today can’t sing like this today. Truly beautiful.
