What an honour it would be just to trim your bonsai next to one of the best in history bonsai masters.

Ecco come una semplice piantina lasciata crescere indisturbata presso un vivaio specializzato a creare dei materiali per bonsai, diventa un punto di riferimento molto didattico nell'impostazione di base di una pianta.

Thanks for sharing! Will removing that much foliage produce juvenile foliage on the tree?

I noticed that he uses pruning scissors to cut (copper) wire. Is that common practice in the nursery?

Rene Voortwist common only in bonsai nursery with small wire.

Apparently, in Kimura Nursery, the pruning scissors he and his apprentices use is made of special steel which is cheap but also very strong to cut metal without getting blunt in a short amount of time. In Japan, they do not manufacture this bonsai steel anymore, Kimura and his apprentice use to cut small wire and branches because it is more efficient and they know the scissors can handle it. I learned this from Ryan Neil.

I think it has to do with the variety of juniper and it must be in winter in Japan.
