Exemplary analysis on a very complex character. I feel there aren't that many videos that really dive into the meat of the character (none that I've found, at least), so I really appreciate the monumental amount of work that must have gone into the creation of this installation. Really, excellent stuff. I look forward to the next video!
Or he skinned and disemboweled the police officer in his escape to create shock. He knew the police would burst through the door and they would be looking for him. Hence he created the most horrific and shocking image possible to shut down the logic centres of the brain
In the books Lecter says he was simply born that way. The movie contradicts him, he says that evil people are the result of years of abuse, but in the novel he denies that. Also, the last book where his childhood is explained explains nothing, because someone who is a psychopath would react to those events in a way different from you and me.
That's not entirely true. Thomas H. didn't want Hannibal to have a backstory that "justifies" his actions, but the movie directors insist he wrote one or they'll hire a ghost writer.
Brian cox did a damn good lecter but nobody can make it seem as if they are dead inside like anthony, those eyes are just windows to evil, nobody will ever top his performance, Mads did a great job with the eyes as well
Anthony Hopkins made a decent attempt at portraying Hannibal Lecter in the movies but the movies took liberties with events. Boyle was eviscerated in the cell in the book and some of the examples you use explain things from a TV/Movie form, which is bound to create a bias in examining the way Lecter acts. The best way of understanding him is to take the acts he does and the things he says about those who his disdains, through that you can gain a basic assessment of his mental state and it is best shown with Chilton. As with how he describes psychiatry and the entire field of psychology, the way he speaks of Frederick Chilton is a clue to the issues wrong with Lecter. I agree with you that he's not a psychopath or sociopath or anything really. He's a unique animal that will both show you a face that you expect and will act in any way he see's fit to bring you pain for no reason other than to do it. His past surely removed the humanity that was in the young boy but I doubt there'd have been much difference in him, he may not have been a cannibalistic killer, but he''d have ended up seeing others as disposable from the first due to his higher than average intelligence coupled with the life he was forced to live in growing up.
I loved this. I would love for you to do a video on Batman. Not any of the movies but the overall character that has been portrayed in the comics. A lot of people say that he has PTSD and while I believe that is true I also believe that he has other issues as well. Another character I would like you to discuss is Tyrion Lannister. Those are just suggestions.

9:15 That was a well-crafted distraction to confuse and terrorize the normal minds of police officers so he could escape. I would have done something similar, well, if I was a psychopath 😁
In some ways, Hannibal is rather a pitiful character deep down His elegant aesthetics, his entitled and arrogant self obsession and even his high intelligence are merely masks that he cowers behind to avoid the cery real reality that he's little more than just another killer with a twisted sense of morality I can see why he created his memory palace A place to hide and feel important
hannibal is the one of the most terrifying villans of all time
I m happy to see some body make an analysis of his phycology

The background song caught me immediately from the beginning. Your choice did not go unnoticed 😉
microphone quality made this painful to listen to with quality headphones on
This seems like it's gonna be interesting
I often find the dissection of interesting personalities much more delicious than their portrayal on film
Absolutely fascinating video, glad that you are making them again!

I've often thought that it could also be a grotesque artistic representation of a bird flying free from a cage
They say he cant be analyzed but this is a pretty strong analysis 😅
Harris was pressured to come up with a origin tale, or else another writer was gonna be hired to... so in my mind "Rising" isn't cannon.

the best adaptation of this story is honestly the nbc show version
the most genius dissection
9:15 In addition to crucifixion, it is also an angel.
Very interesting video just love the character of hannibal.
great. excellent analysis. Thank you.

Very good video.
An accurate representation
The name Hannibal is of Missouri, not the general
The Soldiers were Not Germans . They werde lithuanians
Dint know Buddha turned to a deer.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Chinese version ??????
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Beautiful meaning of his name: God is gracious. It's very fitting for Lecter as well.
Rude, I dare say ...
Drinking breast milk is cannibalism or not?

I can see why he created his memory palace
