JRPGs don't have this kind of art anymore, this type of art is timeless.
One of my favorite RPG's ever from the PS1 era! Criminally underated! Seems not many ppl even know about this game or give it any attention and it's a damn shame because it's amazing! From the story/script to the excellent RPG mechanics, it's just a joy to play.
It has some of my favorite RPG mechanics actually. The Master system is just great and gives you so many ways to build your team, and the Fairy Village lets you do so many different things, even duplicating rare items! Not to mention being able to learn abilities from monsters and being able to swap the abilities between party members. It's just so well built for an RPG, I love it!
PS1 has sooo many great games with awesome music. In 2023 I still can't get enough of them.
This is also a really smart use of early 3d- with a mostly fixed camera isometric view that allows limited roatation to see around corners. More games should do this.

Play now during lockdown for the first time on PSP, only love for this game!🤩
I also love any RPG that has a Tournament in the storyline. Always so fun to play thru those parts of an RPG! It's my favorite part of this game too.

Radiata Stories is another great RPG you should play if you haven't already.

Nina is character within Breath of Fire 3. She is the princess of Wyndia, daughter to the King and Queen Sheila, and a member of the Wind Clan. Just like the Nina before her, she is an offensive magic caster. Contrary to the previous game, however, is that during her childhood, Nina lacks wings. Momo is reclusive scientist who holed herself up in a great Tower after her father's, Repsol's death in order to try to finish his incomplete research on the magical ore known as chrysm. She possesses a great deal of a natural genius probalay inherited from her father.

I wish the people running Capcom had the same amount of passion and talent for making games as their devs do. Even if this gem of a game was overlooked in its time, they could have given it new life by putting it on Steam or GOG...

Always liked this game, being older and playing the animations in the NPC and Characters are great, i always liked that they would get older, I know it’s not like huge but something about that appealed to me.

Well you certainly could have made the Garr fight more entertaining... Yeah you're supposed to lose, but you should have at least healed prior to the fight and transformed into a Dragon during it just to make it fun. I like making sure I give Garr the best fight I can during that match just out of principle alone. Can't make it easy on ole Garr now can we?
The only thing I wish is that there was some sort of extra cutscene when you transform, like everyone in the audience being shocked when they see you transform into a Dragon. That would be pretty dope if they had added that in.

Fuck the 5 people downvoting this. Take your downvotes to Capcom for wrecking the series (in the future). BoF III was legit.
Oh and fun fact: Around about the last video is a fight with Balio and Sunder you can't win. If you hack in unlimited HP to Ryu, the game soft-locks if you try to win. (sad...)
