One slightly unique thing about the Philippines is how citizenship is determined. If at least one parent is a Filipino citizen at the time of birth, then the child is considered to be Filipino, regardless of the location of the birth. This allows these children to work in the Philippines, own land and also businesses too.
If one parent is a UK cititzen, then with a few conditions you can apply for British Citizenship for the child usually. www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-british-parent/born-on-or-after-1-july-2006
@@anubis8680 if a foreign woman gives birth within the USA, then the baby is considered a USA citizen because of nothing less than location. If a Filipina gives birth anywhere in the world, the Philippine government recognizes the child as a citizen. Big difference in my book. What a couple of very well spoken lovely ladies they are. I wonder why their momma didn't teach them the language while they were coming up. Please do have them on again. It would be interesting to watch an interview with their dad too.
Language can be a use it or lose it deal if it's not your primary language. Learning a language in a vacuum without using it in regular interactions can be tough. In the moment of learning you can understand it at the time. But don't use it and a couple of months later it's all gone.
My wife didn't put any pressure on my kids to learn the local dialect either. My youngest daughter understands Ilokano 'way better than her older siblings but she can't speak a word. The way my wife looked at it, my kids were far better off learning English because English is spoken everywhere; in fact, the Philippines is the 3rd-largest English-speaking country on the planet. I never learned the language either after 42 years of marriage to a Filipina. Just wasn't a priority because 90% of our time was spent in the U.S.

Wow! Hey Pea…only 5 minutes in and I’m stunned these amazing ladies are from America. I grew up next to Fillipeano families in America and when I went in their homes, I felt like we were in the PI and I’ve never been there, meaning they moved to the US but stayed with their roots and culture. They were the best neighbors ever. I think it’s great these girls get to experience it for real and live there. God bless them.

My children were born in North America as well and I used to speak with them in Tagalog at home, however, when they started kindergarten - they spoke English more and then I got lazy I guess, due to the busy life here. Now they are all grown and they only know the very basic tagalog words. They say words like "I am bihis-sing" ( translation - "I am getting dressed") . But I definitely raised my daughter as a traditional Filipina. I am worried that she might not get married, because she is such a homebody and does not "date". When they were young, I spoke tagalog when I scolded them, lol ,they did not understand everything, so it took out the sting:)
My daughter is a mix (23 now). I'm English and my wife is from Laguna. I think she looks very Asian, I don't think she looks like me but many do. She now speaks tagalog, most Filipinos are surprised and find it funny. She went to private schools and they insist in English only so she really learnt after school. I would post a photo but looks like there's no facility. She actually seems to always have a Fil/Brit boyfriends which I find interesting. Nice interview. Btw, 13 years between me and my wife also. She does seem to get preferential treatment, especially when she worked in a call center as English is her first language.
Very nice interview I never met anyone when I was in school from Philippines but I’m 67 n there wasn’t hardly any students from other countries back then👍 nice video thank you girls
Interesting Miss Pea. I have 4 kids half Filipino half American. My oldest daughter looks more American but the three younger ones look more Filipino. To me these girls look and talk like Americans. It’s good they are able to study in the Philippines and really get accustomed to the culture. I’m sure they will pick up Tagalog easily.
Great interview!! It was very refreshing and interesting to hear from the perspective of 2 STUNNING Filipino-Americans in the PI. Wish the best for yall. Thanks!
bang for your buck is not good compared with other asian countries... have you had cold pansit in a saucer portion fit for a kitten...Food is a big part of life, but in phils is not good...so many belly...so how does that happen with the portion size? Plus, if you are white, you are going to get shaffted...The lord has a lot of work to do there......
True. In Grand rapids michigan it's $13 for a sandwich and $8 for a beer. When I was in the Philippines last year. I could get the same in manila for like $3 total.
Hi Pea. Excellent video, Pea. I've watched your channel grow over the last three years and I'm glad it is going well. I know you'll eventually hit that 500k subscriber mark. I miss the Philippines. I was part of my childhood and then I visited twice as an adult. I'm watching society, here in the U.S. crumble before my eyes and it saddens me, to see it tear itself apart. Tke care and see you Friday.
Hard to decide which of the three is the loveliest!😊 They are embracing a life that my future wife and I hope our children will embrace. We are planning on doing our best to make sure they will be able to fit in seamlessly in either country should they choose to.
Sorry to contradict. The woman that introduced me to my wife is back here in Bohol after living in Illinois for the past 12 years. She planned on two months but one week was enough. The dirt, the poverty, the ignorance is just too much. Going home. Not the first Pinay to express this. One girl living in Norway lasted one day. Philippines has a long way to go.
It will be interesting to see what happens with them, yes 👍 I agree that the Philippines has a long way to go, and there’s no excuse for modernizing - now 😊
I've got one "halflings" myself Pea. She's my beauty queen and my world who can't speak our language either. Hard to teach when you're surrounded by English speaking environments, so she have to learn Filipino language the hard way lol.
The accent really stuck out but they sound like they were raised with good parents. Kudos to them for having the opportunity to learn overseas and discover their roots. My own cousins are somewhat hesitant about going to Mexico, even though our hometown is literally a 10 minute drive to the rest of family. The main area for a majority of my family are at a border town in Mexico, which is highly combative with cartels trying to get a strong hold for lucrative drug routes to the United States. My aunt lost a leg as a result of being in a crossfire between the cartels and the Mexican Army. If things don't improve with Mexico, which I honestly don't see happening anytime soon. I can always visit my family members in Texas, or my partner's family in Rizal. It was a wonderful experience and I never felt so safe surrounded by strangers.
Both of those young ladies have absolkutely beautiful smiles. The open and accepting nature of each shows clearly, and will serve them well. Lovely ladies, wonderful interview Pea!
@@CaptainJackSparrow110 OK, I've watched this 3 times now. Where do you get feminists and tribal? I think maybe yoiu are looking for something, that isnt there.

Its cool to be able to hear the perspective from the children of an American/phil relationship. And it seems like they didn't grow up to be buttheads like so many American women. Thank God for their moms influence. Are their parents still together? Love, peace and applesauce Miss Pea.
I can't believe that Dad hasn't waited for Mum to retire before moving to the Philippines! The French kissing thing has been surprising to me here! I haven't kissed a Filipina yet here that knows really how to French kiss. It's hilarious to me that you brought that up, but that's been my experience here so far. Another great video from you, thanks.

Cant wait to get there and have you talk through the night about history, folklore, music and all kinds of things! 😊❤🥰
@@awakenotwoke1973 The assumption that "to be modern" is to be like the US will destroy the Philippines if that is the route they take. Hello Pea, I just knew that young woman had an American father, not that it makes a difference, but you can tell. All the same they are both charming and thank you again for the public service that you pleasantly provide.
No Lauren, it wasn't about your accent, it was about the terrible western values that were quickly revealed in your answers. It was obvious that you were much more liberal than the girl on the far right on the pool interview. Most people on this channel came here specifically hoping to see people with more traditional values so people who have liberal values quickly stand out.

Hi Pea. This was an interesting video. These girls have done things the other way around. It will be interesting to see how they make out here. The both seem to be very smart and mature so I think they will do ok and having their father here will help too. I wish them good luck with their studies and adjusting to their new life here. Thanks for the interview. Your smart girls a ++ to a good relationship.
Why can't i stop thinking about the Pea with Road Rage?
I hope Lucy gets that on camera, one day.😂
WATCH THE ADS
It’s not a pretty sight, I assure you 🤣
I get a 'picture' of Pea driving a lifted F150 with her finger out the window. LOL
That was cool Pea. Have a great evening, take care and God bless you 🙏 😊
My daughter is a mix (23 now).
Thanks for sharing your story! They have much in common 👍❤️😊
❤️❤️❤️👍
Such a cute bartender. 😍
HI Chantal :) As a "Halfling" myself, prayers and positive vibes for yall. Keep it up Pea!

That was pretty awesome to have those two sisters on

Im sure with an attitude like yours you cant produce anything good Pass port brooo.
Long before passport bros there were passport guys...the new generation didn't invent this travel option...far from it.

Look up Larry McEntire. He's The Godfather or Paul McGill. Get you a Pinay before somebody screws it up.
Great interview!! It was very refreshing and interesting to hear from the perspective of 2 STUNNING Filipino-Americans in the PI. Wish the best for yall. Thanks!
Philippines is a nice place with affordability for AMERICAN Dollar holders.
It does seem to be, yes 👍😊
At least for now.... There's crazy things going on with the monetary system right now though. Hopefully it doesn't change much.
bang for your buck is not good compared with other asian countries... have you had cold pansit in a saucer portion fit for a kitten...Food is a big part of life, but in phils is not good...so many belly...so how does that happen with the portion size? Plus, if you are white, you are going to get shaffted...The lord has a lot of work to do there......
True. In Grand rapids michigan it's $13 for a sandwich and $8 for a beer. When I was in the Philippines last year. I could get the same in manila for like $3 total.
I am concerned with many Foreigners moving to the Philippines, they will raise the prices beyond the means of Filipinos.
😎👍🤿🇵🇭! Always a different subject with a different perspective! I like them all!
I appreciate your confidence, but I don’t see 500k in my future - we’ll see though 🤣❤️
One political party is more responsible for the destruction of America, though both are complicit.
Amen Shar. Sad what is happening here in the US.
Both are beautiful young ladies. 😊😊❤❤
Hard to decide which of the three is the loveliest!😊 They are embracing a life that my future wife and I hope our children will embrace. We are planning on doing our best to make sure they will be able to fit in seamlessly in either country should they choose to.
The one on your left! The one on your left!
🤣🤣🤣
@The Filipina Pea Not gonna lie, you are one of the reasons I watch your videos. The content is the secondary reason.
@@scottyork8831 She wouldn't exist without simps paying for her.
Another learning experience, thanks so much..
2 weeks for me. 1 month is too long. LOL! I’m a Filipina. Immigrated to the US when I was 25. I guess… I got spoiled living in America. 😂🤣😂
@@tessnelson6059 take for example, the DMV. In and out in 28 minutes. Here in Bohol, 2 days. Maybe!
It will be interesting to see what happens with them, yes 👍
I agree that the Philippines has a long way to go, and there’s no excuse for modernizing - now 😊
@@solarguy1702 yes, I love the convenience in the USA . I feel like an American when I go back home. No more patience. Lol! 😂🤣😜🤪
When Mother Teresa came to the USA she noted that she had not seen such spiritual poverty even in the worst slums of Calcutta.
You can see three terrific women who have a very bright future. Congrats Little Bit. Another great video. All the best ladies.
Sweet girls. I knew they were going to mention the traffic. When I’m in the Philippines, I don’t drive. It’s madness!
I totally agree 👍
Beautiful young ladies all 3 of course TC God bless y'all.
Thanks Chuck 😊👍❤️
I've got one "halflings" myself Pea. She's my beauty queen and my world who can't speak our language either. Hard to teach when you're surrounded by English speaking environments, so she have to learn Filipino language the hard way lol.
Very cool having these guests from America with Philippina mom. Great angle. Keep up the good work
The accent really stuck out but they sound like they were raised with good parents.
👍👍😊😊
Both of those young ladies have absolkutely beautiful smiles. The open and accepting nature of each shows clearly, and will serve them well. Lovely ladies, wonderful interview Pea!
You didn't notice they are feminists? And tribal?
@@CaptainJackSparrow110 OK, I've watched this 3 times now. Where do you get feminists and tribal? I think maybe yoiu are looking for something, that isnt there.
These young ladies can get a college education without the 100,000 dollars student loan debt. This will give them a huge advantage in life.

Thank you for sharing your different subjects for the people who want to visit the Philippines my friend
Such a brilliant example of one-world ladies. You ladies fill us with such hope for the future. Thanks Pea.
Glad you liked it, Robert 👍❤️
I hope these ladies will be a good influence to other Filipino and not influence them in a bad way. Are these ladies from the west cost States? I notice they use ,"LIKE" a lot as most west cost people do. They seem like nice ladies. I wish them happiness. Thanks pea.
Its cool to be able to hear the perspective from the children of an American/phil relationship. And it seems like they didn't grow up to be buttheads like so many American women. Thank God for their moms influence. Are their parents still together?
Love, peace and applesauce Miss Pea.
I got the impression that their parents might not be together anymore 😢
I can't believe that Dad hasn't waited for Mum to retire before moving to the Philippines! (Obviously I don't know the circumstances, but couldn't imagine being happy with the tyranny of distance from my significant other). Asian cultural influence/value predominantly have a positive outcome on rearing well adjusted and grateful children. Filial piety foremost.
U ladies are great to listen to.
The French kissing thing has been surprising to me here! I haven't kissed a Filipina yet here that knows really how to French kiss. It's hilarious to me that you brought that up, but that's been my experience here so far. Another great video from you, thanks.
I was asked about it in an email, too, so I think I’ll do a video about it 🤣👍
(I do know how, and I’m a good kisser) 😆

People like these ladies are the future. So mature in their outlook and its great to see them seek their culture and accept what they find! More power to them and more power to you lovely Pea for spreading understanding of culture! Cant wait to get there and have you talk through the night about history, folklore, music and all kinds of things! 😊❤🥰
I disagree. They've unfortunately been badly influenced by modern western culture. Good men just aren't seeking women like that for marriage.
@@awakenotwoke1973 The assumption that "to be modern" is to be like the US will destroy the Philippines if that is the route they take. They should look instead at Singapore, Taiwan and even Malaysia vs the complete depravity that is taking over the US. Most Filipinos do not realize how sick and twisted the US is becoming.😊

Hello Pea, I just knew that young woman had an American father, not that it makes a difference, but you can tell. All the same they are both charming and thank you again for the public service that you pleasantly provide.
You can tell they don't like old dudes because they Americans.
Wow another great video from the Pea. Lauren and Chantel were created good by two Wonderful parents. God created those two beautiful women indeed
And hopefully more will join them here 😊
@@TheFilipinaPea yes so true
No Lauren, it wasn't about your accent, it was about the terrible western values that were quickly revealed in your answers. It was obvious that you were much more liberal than the girl on the far right on the pool interview. Most people on this channel came here specifically hoping to see people with more traditional values so people who have liberal values quickly stand out.
Interesting video
Gorgeous young women… blessings always 🙏🏼.

Really, Because They Look Filipina, I Don't Think They Would Get Any Real Headaches or Hate or Anything Like That.
I'm Sure Obce People Become Aware That They Are a Mixed Family And Grew Up In The States, They Would Definitely Get Lots Of Curiosity From The Philippine Citizens. But a Good Kind of Curiosity.
Great insights.. Thanks..
