It's always exciting, a really great production and an essential warning for those dreaming of taking on the track! Yes I have been driven around this circuit, but probably won't do it again! The town and views are beautiful at anytime! I will be watching the race! 😥
The actual race is this weekend, late Sat night your time. It can be watched in the US, probably on either Speed Channel or one of the Fox Sports channels. These are the cars that NASCAR's new cars are based on, and is also the reason NASCAR is doing more so-called road races. In AUS, all of the Supercar series is on "road tracks" tho many of then are actually race tracks. They're just not speedway circuits. Bathurst however is an actual public road. You can see the driveways and houses along the road. This is the series that SVG and others before him came from.

Such a great race and it’s like no other in the world, it’s a street road most of the year but come October it’s a race track. Super cars, the big v8’s and the lower class cars in between. It used to be a production car endurance race with all different males and models from around the world, bmw, Volvo, Nissan skyline, Toyota, you name it and of course Holden ( Australian part of GM) which unfortunately America let go and is know longer and ford. These days it’s a super car muscle car race with Holden and ford rivalry pumping the race. It’s awesome! 1000 km endurance race and so Australian.
Great reaction, Mark Larkham explains the intensity of 1 lap of one of the most demanding race tracks in the world, but remember you need to do it for 161 laps. I hope you got to see it on the weekend! Was a very clean race this year, so not as much carnage as would entertain many, and the variables weren't as complex. At just under 6 hours, it was actually the fastest time ever, for the Bathurst 1000. 161 laps in under 6 hours, make each lap, an average of over 165 kph. To watch it on TV, doesn't do it justice. One has to drive around it (especially over the top of the circuit) to really appreciate how good these guys are.
Sorry brother, I did not get to sit and watch it. I was busy entertaining a 6 month old granddaughter. I couldn't stop trying to make her smile...lol I hope next year when I have had a chance to slow down, that I will watch TV. I want to catch some Australian Football too.
The Bathurst race track is a public open road. They close the road to the public for this event. Come "Down Under" to Australia & drive on this best race track in the world. You'll be mesmerised how steep it is up to the skyline. Beautiful views. 1000 kms, 162 laps of pure speed of this great race.

Yes, this race is an institution in Australia although it has lost its sheen a bit now that there are no Aussie car manufacturers. But still it is really exciting to watch.
There's still very few sights like a car in full flight going through the esses, the combination of speed and precision required in such a fast and technical section with pretty much no run off is just mind blowing.
Yes this weekend is the great race Bathurst 1000 You can drive the track as it's a public road when not used as a race track, you may have noticed the farm houses along the track

Mount Panorama, Bathurst, New South Wales. The Bathurst 1000 is a motor car race, unlike any you have ever seen; it is one of the many races of the Repco Supercars Championship Series, the Championship Series is held from February and ends in November each year. This is the premier motorsport in the world, in fact a world beater. We Aussies like to play hard, at life and sport. Australia is known for our unique sports, and comparable sport ethics. Talking of unique sports, I reckon you would find Australian Rules Football a very interesting sport; it has been said by other reactors to be a hybrid of many other sports, it is in fact the oldest codified football code in the world.
fun fact, this is a street course, you can drive around it everyday, though of course, there is a speed limit, there is a streamer that I watch that lives there and he walks the track, time to time
Its the track I know best and have never set foot outside of Canada ! For my 17 years of karting I ALWAYS watch the 07 race intro ! Have probably watched it a minimum of 200 times . Except for 5 years have always been in top 3 and just won my 3rd Championship ! Inspiration from afar ! DW"s lap ride is hilarious !!
I have seen him before he has raced there many times. The race track is actually a public road when not used for the Big Race. I took my two sons when they were young around the track, in a Toyota Hi Ace van which was extra scary as you are looking directly down at the track. It is a one way road with a 60 kph (38 mph) speed limit and frequented by the Highway Patrol. Back in the advent of the race the vehicles were standard production cars, most were driven from the dealership to the track and raced in stock standard in off the showroom form. No roll cages or any other form of driver protection.

Sorry brother, I did not get to sit and watch it. I was busy entertaining a 6 month old granddaughter. I couldn't stop trying to make her smile...lol I hope next year when I have had a chance to slow down, that I will watch TV. I want to catch some Australian Football too.
The drivers have to go around the track 161 laps.
Distance shared with a co driver for the last fifty years.
bloody hell. every time I see this I get chills
I went to the Bathurst car race for the First time in 1974 aged 14 with my Dad, 50yrs ago. I remember it like yesterday. Who won ? John Goss in a Blue Ford Falcon 351 GT Hardtop Number 5 on the side of the car.
It never gets old
Yes, this race is an institution in Australia although it has lost its sheen a bit now that there are no Aussie car manufacturers. But still it is really exciting to watch.
There's still very few sights like a car in full flight going through the esses, the combination of speed and precision required in such a fast and technical section with pretty much no run off is just mind blowing.
man its hard to not skip the commercials but to help Mikes /our channel we have to let them run their course
Yes this weekend is the great race Bathurst 1000
You can drive the track as it's a public road when not used as a race track, you may have noticed the farm houses along the track
I have driven and ridden it, at a much reduced speed. Lol
And the view is great.
Forget every other motor race, this is the World's greatest. Foreign drivers rarely do well.
They say time flies when you’re having fun🎼🤘🏻
Best race and track of its type in the world
BEAUTIFUL!!! Gotta love Bathurst. Sooo thrilling. I miss the Holdens, though… ❤️🇦🇺👍
Yea mate, but if you were really a V8 & Motorsport fan , you’d miss the true-blue’s as well.
@@queenslander954I do. I miss all the old Bathurst days. ❤ But I’m a Holden gal at heart. ❤️🇦🇺👍
If you're watching the race, the Touring Car Masters have just shown an important factor in the race. Survival. Just so many races are affected by crashes.
That nine minutes was the quickest 5 minute video Ive watched in a long time, oh yeah Im a Aussie and been watching this race since the days of the Mini Minors, the greatest race on earth is on again on Sunday 13th Oct.damn, another 6 hours of sitting on my butt, the big race is Ford Mustangs against Chevy Camaro's, well sort of.
What a race.......
And sometimes they all get around safely!
Glad you didn't stop it every 10 seconds. Some others, I don't know how they absorb everything.
You have reacted just in time. The race is on this weekend. Starts at about 7:30 Saturday night and finishes about 2:00 Am Sunday for you in Texas.
Mark Larkham, the presenter, is an ex-Racer, ex-team owner, talent spotter and the broadcast technical guru. He KNOWS how to do Bathurst from many years of experience...
Oh, and the Race is on Saturday evening (US time), starts @ 8:30pm eastern (if I'm reading the time zones right - check).
Kosteci and Hazelwood took Bathurst yesterday. Pretty much event free but a good finish.
This is Also A Public Road When Not Used For Racing 11:29
Best race of the year and it’s this weekend. Used to be Holden V Ford until a few years ago when other car brands joined in. For me it’s still a 2 brand race & Im Holden all the way 😀
Larko is the best at explaining the tracks.
Daryl gets in one of these cars and goes around this track.....squealing his head off :) lol
Bathurst is this weekend I'm watching practice at the moment.
Talking of unique sports, I reckon you would find Australian Rules Football a very interesting sport; it has been said by other reactors to be a hybrid of many other sports, it is in fact the oldest codified football code in the world.
sweet bro you did not talk over video , your reaction was real and thanks from AU
Appreciate that
This must be the 100th youtuber doing the same thing, surely it is done and dusted.
He has driven the race many times very good driver
G'day, Great timing for this reaction. Aussie moter sports is a Rabbit Hole you will enjoy going down.
Mt Panorama is a public road most of the year except when the 1000 is on or the 12hr
fun fact, this is a street course, you can drive around it everyday, though of course, there is a speed limit, there is a streamer that I watch that lives there and he walks the track, time to time
Your American Nass Car driver, takes a HOT lap of Bathurst in the passenger seat, & gets the crap scared out of him 😊
Its the track I know best and have never set foot outside of Canada ! For my 17 years of karting I ALWAYS watch the 07 race intro ! Have probably watched it a minimum of 200 times . Except for 5 years have always been in top 3 and just won my 3rd Championship ! Inspiration from afar ! DW"s lap ride is hilarious !!
My husband is all ready up there for a week.
It’s a two-way road so even more reason to be careful when driving it in your regular road car.
