I am studying “program & project management” i must stand up and applaud your teaching, the way you have managed this video very quickly tells me how great a project manager you must be👍🏻💕✊👏🏻
Fabulous job! Great overview and lots of key terms. I'll be looking for more of your videos. And yes, the M&M clause. But always appreciate including the team in the schedule - and the risks.
The whole video was very informative, straight to the point, and also visually pleasing. Intellectually, 'C' was my favorite part, however from a social perspective, nothing could beat the last point. Will definitely look into more of your clips.
The way you gracefully pulled off the tough Concepts - I am so thankful of you. Thanks for going through all the hassle and making them worth it. Keep it up.
B, then C, then A I was looking for concrete tasks that had to be done as PM and how and most videos were honestly just bullshitting around in generalization and this video did so great at actually giving a real contrete look at what has to be done and how that i learned so much.
Thank you!! Jeez, I had to pause and take notes a lot. :-) This was VERY helpful, incredibly informative and your experience shines through in your thoroughness and clarity of your explanations. Thank your for SO MUCH information presented so well!
Excellent video! I learned so much in a short period of time Most helpful tips, Risk mitigation planning with accountable parties named and schedule construct as a team.
Hi Antonio, thanks for the comment about the background. I've passed it on to the design team & we're going to be making more dark background videos :-)
Good point. Dark background is easier on the eyes. More people are starting to accept dark themes because they are less stressful. Thank you for mentioning it! Great video!! I am going to watch it again and take notes with time stamps. I'll post here if someone hasn't already done it.
For setting the quality controls you will need to draw down the WBS and that can't be done in isolation and once you know that you can calculate each line to do the forecast, so all of them. It was very well presented. Thank you
I love the M&Ms example because I come from the world of concert production, and I have dealt with many instances of a performers contract ride that had those items listed.
Definitely found point a) most valuable (plan as a team). Excellent reasons spelled out for this. This is a point that goes beyond project management and can and should be transferred to BAU!
This is a great tutorial thank you. I found all of it useful but two elements stand out. I work in a role where budget control is less of a priority so that was very useful to learn. However the most interesting point was around building a schedule. I have seen very experienced project managers being able to build these out of pure knowledge and experience. Something quite daunting for a beginner. Your statement about getting everyone involved and that you shouldnt be in the weeds of the activities is very comforting and something i will be taking away with me. Thank you!
Hi Leighton, that you so much for your lovely comment. We really appreciate it! Schedule building is always an interesting challenge and I also used to get intimidated by project managers who appeared to conjure them out of thin air. It took me a while to realise that the PMs that involved everyone tended to be more successful than those who didn't. :-)
Dying Project Manager, something very unusual. however, I must say a very nice video and all the topics have been covered very precisely and the dedication, commitment in delivering this video is amazing. Keep up the good work! very useful
When I saw it I was a little taken aback, but when you think that any project managers who pass away during their careers were likely to be in the middle of a project when they did, it makes a lot of sense.
Hi Dawn, thanks for the comment. I was blown away when I first heard about it as well, it's a really good way of doing critical control point QA though. :-)
Very useful overview of how to manage a project. I thought that the risk register and workshop concept is useful and a good way to carefully think about risks.
Wow, that a very succinct and at the same time complete coverage of the PM topic. I am just starting to participate in a project and that video has been very helpful. definitely subscribed.
Hi smilinsteve1, thank you very much for such lovely feedback. We really do appreciate it. Good luck with the branching, project management is a great career choice!
I am so glad I found this helpful tutorial... coming from healthcare this was so different... love the m&m quality assurance along with the forecast vs actual.
Succinct and to the point covering majority of the points. I liked A & C as well as the risks part. Not ever imagined was the Dying project manager... M & M story is kind of an eye opener to read the fine print. For me, background music could have been little more soft for better understanding of the explanations. Thanks!

Thank you very much for an excellent video, and sharing your invaluable work experience. I plan to watch it a few more times, consolidate my notes and mirror it over the simple projects I have managed/worked on over the years to try internalise the methodology. But like making a puzzle. May I ask what PM software you would recommend for a beginner?
Hi Martin, thanks for your lovely feedback. We're glad you found the video useful. Our tool of choice is Psoda (of course). What do you want the tool to do?
Hi, thanks for the reply and sorry for the “not so smart yet question” :-). I am trying to formalise and polish my PM skills. Foundational stuff really. When I get to the point that I have a live fire PM situation, I will get in touch with you guys. Thanks again, Martin
Great, u give so efforts. May i know we use GPD (Global Process Development)process in CNH industrial, so is it right to say GPD is also a methodology?
Hi Vinod, thanks for the question. From my understanding Global Product Development Process is a set of guiding principles and best practices rather than a set of rules, methods and standard processes so it doesn't meet the definition of a methodology. Unless your organisation has taken it a step further and built it's own set of rules, standard processes, framework etc. which would make it an organisation specific GPD methodology. I hope that makes sense :-)

I like your presentation and would like use in the course outline. Can I have your approval to use your video in my course?
Or better still - project manager leaving! I have joined in on projects midway because the previous project manager left at very short notice (to a better job!) - and until a new one is appointed, I have to be the care-taker. Not an easy task looking around the shared drive for correspondence, meeting minutes, interim reports - and then coming up to speed on them!! And having to explain the client that there has been a change in management - which may cause a delay - but re-assuring that everything will still be fine.

The M and M story was really interesting and useful although the most helpful tip for me was the accumulated vs actual forecast calculation.
