I believe the cars they used on display in the mall were a VW Scirocco and a Monza! So funny... what a genuine genius George was! Writer/Director/Editor/Zombie (he was in a few shots in Night/Dawn & Day). He moved to Toronto and died there and from anyone I have ever spoken to who interacted with him or his crew he was stated to be the most humble and unassuming soul one would encounter. I never had the pleasure to meet George. I have lived and worked from Quebec to Vancouver Island and also have lived and worked in about 11 of the lower 48 States as well as Hawaii which is the 50th State. The interesting thing is that wherever George was (on any given day) people always say the same things about him. My dad is a WWII veteran from the RCN (Halifax Nova Scotia) and is still with us and "Pennsylvania Dutch". He has duel citizenship but we are all in Alberta Canada now. So nice that you made this montage. BTW I absolutely love Pennsylvania. I spent many fantastic visits there from the years 2007 to 2013 (about that time - forgive me as I am pushing 60 and the mind is effected by eating out of all those aluminum pots - LOL) visiting my cousin in Pittsburgh. Wow what a fantastic State with super interesting people. Cheers!
I’m from Pittsburgh and live with a half hour of the mall. I got to visit the old airport before it got torn down. Been to all the filming locations more times than I can count lol. Even been on the roof of the mall a few times. I’m so happy you got visit and see everything. Dawn of the Dead is one of my favorite movies ever. I don’t know if you been there, but you’re close to Evans City where Night of the Living Dead was filmed. Great video brother!
Hey! Thanks for watching! Did they finally tear down the airport? Last I heard they were talking about it. I actually did a NOTLD locations video as well! Should be in my filming locations playlist. Thanks again! I see by your profile photo you met Grimm Life! Great peeps!
I'm glad you experienced this dude. I know I probably won't ever do anything like this but the fact that you did almost feels like you went for me. I bet everyone who watched this felt the same way, awesome video man 💯💯💯💯
My son and I came up from Georgia yesterday, 6/9/23, just to see the mall. To our surprise it was Living Dead Weekend. Talk about being at the right place at the right time. We met Ken Foree (Peter) and Gaylen Ross (Fran). Scott Reiniger and Tom Savini were here also, but we didn’t talk with them. We were there all day today too. They had tours of filming locations which we didn’t participate in. I’ve watched the movie at least twice a year since I first saw it back in 1981. Although we didn’t find everything that you did, we were able to locate many of the locations that you showed just from talking to workers of the Living Dead Museum and from my memories of the movie. It was like a scavenger hunt. We had a great time. We also drove out to West Middletown Cemetery which was the filming location of the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead. Great job with the video.
12:05. Easy one. I immediately remember this is where they showed the zombies wandering, stumbling in and around the doors as the professor was explaining their characteristics like he was narrating a documentary we were watching, before we find out that he was on a "Heraldo" like, talk show. Clever montage.
Great video! I'm planning on visiting there next month. Would you know where the gun store was in the mall? Or where the loading bay area was where they bring the trucks?
That clock tower was the icon of the whole movie. They had a rough schedule. Could only film at night and early sunday mornings. There is one part you see a car driving in the background. OH,and Romero played the zombie santa.lol
See that hill has been scraved down see the top in the distance that's about a 100 feet back in the 1990's the 100 feet part went all the way to the road. One night I was out on army patrol walking all over the USA walking. I came through the field above from the interstate but a long way I almost feel off that there I remember sliding down the steep grade hill there. 10 feet grade from top to bottom that 10 feet canceled a 98 foot Clift. I took a photo of the house and the hill saying to myself dauhvu..... but the movie that ye was saying that not the same mall that movie was in Arkansas west end.
There is 2 malls that look alike that place was nuked in the 1980s. There is 2 different dawn of the dead. The one that yerre talking happened already. It was a real life documentary daile with the dead will walk the earth was no actor that was crypt team captain I was there I ye look carefully around ye will find a little black man in the mall I was the camera man.

I’m not entirely sure off the top of my head. It’s been a while since I’ve watched that movie.
"Wake up, sucker! We're thieves and we're bad guys. That's exactly what we are!" 1978 Dawn Of The Dead
We've got to find our own way
There's a guy who watched "Dawn of the dead " more than one time!🙂😉

The army was the National Guard.... Great video brother!
Appreciate ya! Thanks for watching
Don't knock it - the mall has its own keys!
Do you know if they still have an annual tour with some of the cast? If they have one in 2023 I’m so down to go.
I think they do it during Living Dead Weekend which I think is in June. I’m not 100% sure.
Fly boy zombie is the best ROMERO style zombie. He proves no need to run. lol
Lol that’s true
He said he was inspired by Lon Cheney in a movie he saw.Thats where flyboy got that awkward walk from as a zombie.

George was supposed to actually make the original resident evil movie
But it never happened
Pretty sure he made a commercial for it
That would of been awesome!

His entire script for Resident Evil is online!
