I just canceled both of my ring subscriptions this morning. I wake up and $100 has been taken from my account. I never opted for autopay. Plus, I just bought my second camera in December. Ring took it upon themselves to just go ahead and “bundle” both cameras together and charge me the full $100 only after having the new camera for 6 months. The cameras are sub par. They take 10 to 15 seconds to load. Once they finally load, the person that caused movement is gone. Just a waste of money. When I bought my first camera it was $20 a year. Now it’s $40 a year per camera. And if you decided to buy another one, they’ll bundle the payments before the year is up. They are crooks. No wonder the FTC just sued Ring. One year of service is all it took for me to toss these pieces crap away. Eff you Ring! Your cameras suck and you suck even more!!!
You make valid points concerning Ring and their subscription costs. I bought into the Ring ecosystem, because at the time few options were available. My setup includes several Ring cameras and a wired NVR with cameras. Also, the Ring alarm along with smoke/carbon monoxide sensors, motion and glass breakage detectors. I am grandfathered into the Ring Protect plan for $100 a year until 2026. Afterwards, my cost will double to $200 a year. Still a bargain in my opinion. My previous alarm company charged $35 dollars a month. Even at $200, Ring is 50% cheaper. Secondly, my discount on home insurance for a monitored alarm is more than $200. Basically, I get paid to have the Ring alarm. People purchase cameras and alarms for peace of mind. As consumers, we decide how much we are willing to pay for it. Ring isn’t for everyone just like Eufy isn’t for me. The good thing is, we have choices. My final .02 cents. I realize your video title is clickbait, but I would never tell someone to cancel their security subscription without understanding their situation.
Hi, thanks for the video. I have an 8k 4 camera dvr set up. Not on WiFi. I bought the ring wired doorbell hoping that it would be a marker to find the exact time to seach for footages. Will this work? My ring subscription ends in a couple of days. Many thanks.
My plan just run out tried ti get basic plan £4.99 then when i went to pay it went up to £99 i dident proceed with payment tho im hoping it dident take money from my account still thats awful what all these corrupt companies are doing its all about making profit & they dont give a shit about there customers !
THanks for the info. I got into Ring because I needed something quick. Ring was both quick and easy. That said, everybody is jacking up their prices and it's to the point where some subscriptions are going to have to go. I am going to be looking into a replacement for Ring and will check out your other vid's. 👍😉
I totally agree. I bought my Ring bell cheap as a Black Friday deal and for that's it's OK. But for the subscription the price is much too high for the value you get.
I just bought a ring without knowledge of the service. I absolutely regret it now that I found out this information. The amount of the subscription could go towards a 4 camera set up with endless storage. I might return it
I have Ring alarm system and i am not sure if my price is increasing or not. Found the email confusing but i am going to go back and look at it again. I have Tapo cameras on the sides of my house for security monitoring and they are totally separate to the Ring System.
Wyze doorbell is only $47 and requires no subscription. Only caveat is you'll need onboard SD card to record but it's nice because it can record every minute of every day and not just motion detection which my old Ring Pro (2016 model) couldn't do and the camera is outdated anyway. I could see the price increase justified if they offer me a free camera upgrade but no, I have to buy a new/better camera on top of that. I've had the Wyze doorbell for 5 months now and it's been great.
I have a few questions of you don’t mind. Does it detect humans and alert you? Are you able to download that interacting remotely? I got ring not long ago and learning about their shitty business practices is making me want to not use them out of principle
@@itsmike3393 It absolutely detects motion. Whether it can differentiate between an actual human, squirrel or plant I don’t believe so if that’s the question but neither could my Ring. It will alert you remotely on your phone and is always connected to the Internet and controllable wherever you are.
Dumped ring for Lorex video doorbell. So disgusted with another increase to $50 with very little service to show for. Alerts are always delayed and very little useful video capture. Lorex can be linked to a fussion DVR. No annual fees and 24/7 recording. Agent asked me why I’m canceling told them you have become so greedy. Told agent to check our Lorex product . LOL
yes iam stopping and going with eufy video doorbell at 179.00 as i did not see ring doing a 50 pounds a years plan and i think the eufy with dual cameras will be better
Problem is Eufy is not secure. Not only is it a PLA mouthpiece but it’s encryption is also non existent Ring security is still best with full house security
The issue is that in the future these other companies may hike prices for cloud storage. I have a dvr box but there is no door bell options for this

@@JohannGambolputty22 awesome, thank you. I’ll look into it
Got a Eufy in black friday deals, and can sell the Ring bell to CEX to get some money back.
Will work out cheaper in the long run

They've hiked it up and taken the 'doorbell ring' feature which rings your phone when the bell is pressed off the basic plan. Wnkrs
My gripe is with the Ring POE (Power Over Ethernet) “Elite” cameras. They’ve never upgraded the design nor is it ever on special. 😖
As soon as I posted this, the old POE camera is on special for Black Friday. 😂

I agree. Eufy is trash.
200 a year in the USA
"Excellent explanation."😀
great video
It's your home security , why cheap out ???!!! even at $30/month is cheap for a good home security.
Ring is trash
He talk too much to say one thing Omg., no way
