I am rather skeptical about how well an Optimus robot would sell. The robot dog that Boston Dynamics sells is $75,000 and it can’t do much except walk around and move its head. A true human like robot would have to be able to perform considerable more so it would have to cost more. So let’s say an Optimus Robot would cost $120,000. How many people could afford this and would companies want to buy a humanoid robot when they can just use a robotic arm attached to a cart with a camera? So even if Tesla succeeds making a reasonably good robot I just don’t see it selling that well.

Robotaxis - they have no automation of charging devices. These are EVs. They cannot work 24x7 without millions of such devices in place ahead of time. Realize that they don't need the capacity of Mexico. They will "blame" someone (Trump) for not building a Mexico plant - rather than admitting their growth has a limitation. I thought this call would be low energy. My opinion is that all Elon cares about with Tesla is extracting the most money as possible. The previous call he was much more focused on pumping the stock up. He wanted the stock to be higher but it really took off. My theory for low energy this time is that he wants the stock on the low side until he secures his next compensation plan and gets resolution on the current one. Yesterday's call focus was to lower the stock price and it worked.
This is a stretch but I believe that XAi is going to take over FSD development. It seems to me that everything he say and does points to Tesla outsourcing development to XAi. Time will tell. Elon changed his mind on the donation to Trump since it was clear after Biden dropped out that it was no longer a certainty that he will win. Elon better hope Trump doesn't win.
