For sure, I was NOT Holy, despite the fact that my real Father, in heaven, is the Holiest of Holies. Before being saved and born again in Christ, I sinned against God and, although now forgiven, it affected me so profoundly that, if I allow it (knowing the devil to be my tormentor) it can plunge me into doubt and despair. However, since being born again in Christ, and having The Holy Ghost reside within me, although I know I am still a sinner, I also know that when I eventually go home to heaven, I will become holy, just as I was always meant to be, because I will have cast off this flesh prison and be transformed into my glorified body. It’s only then that I will feel a part of heaven and, thus, holy. Even so, I still only consider God, Jesus and The Holy Ghost to be truly HOLY. It’s confusing! Chris- I totally know what you're saying, I don't Feel "Holy" Either! It almost feels wrong for me to use that word for myself in any way. Dave said it also means to be "set apart" or not living in our sins like before we were Saved. God is Holy in His Very Being- In His Basic Essence... I just try to love and obey Our Holy God to the best of my ability knowing that I'm still fallible... so, it sounds like we feel similarly on this. // Abba! in Jesus' Name- Please help us to be holy as You are holy! I can admit to that completely, thank goodness but, like you, it feels wrong for me to use that word ‘holy’ for myself in any way. I say AMEN with you to everything you write. @@Christinegardiner8117 Amen and Amen, my dearest Christine and Sara! I am in complete agreement with you both! I fell asleep early yesterday and did not get to respond to Dave’s Devotional. I am so glad I went back and I am responding now. I am in tears reading yours and Sara’s comments. I have been saved, and I’m so grateful to be a child of God. We are true believers and “not the sinners like before we were saved”. Praise Jesus! - but I could never say I am holy (it doesn’t feel right to me either). I believe only when I leave this world from dying or being raptured first and being in the presence of Our Lord, My God, can I truly be holy - being made glorified. While I am in this flesh, I know I am a sinner. I try my hardest to walk in the Lord’s footsteps everyday, pray for forgiveness when I know I’ve done something wrong (it grieves me to grieve the Holy Spirit 😢) , and pray for forgiveness if I have unintentionally done wrong. I so needed to see your comments on this subject. You both have made me feel so much better, too. I’m starting to get physically on the mend, but this tremendously helped me mentally.
