One that people are able to buy maybe? Might be a good video. “Hey look everybody, this is an awesome bike you can actually buy.” Shit is sold out by the chanse I get a look at it..
So excited to race this bike at Unbound Gravel on Saturday! I got to work with Canyon directly on this and the color scheme is my story. The purple orange and pink allude to the southwestern USA where most of my adventures take place, in the desert. The bike also alludes to the cowboy and dirty adventures to come. Lastly the raccoon paw prints are my spirit animal: scrappy, survivor, eats anything, fierce when cornered, and the horrible tan line 😎. I didn’t choose it, it chose me.
First class all the way especially the Shimano group set and wheels. My spirit animals are my two cottontails, Dotty and Scrappy. They come running when I bring the bird seed. I don't know how you do it with the accident in Europe but I look forward to your adventures..
Pro tip. Keep the valve stem down in all photo/storage places as it helps reduced sealant settling in the valve core and gumming it up. Otherwise epic build/bike .
I dont know why im watching this video till end , ermm . I think you must send it to me after you assembled the bike after this . RB for sure . Thanks Canyon . Love Canyon Bike ❤️ .
These are excellent Canyon. The only thing that would make them better, in my opinion, is if there was no music whatsoever. Just the sounds from the workshop. Some years ago the BBC produced some shows for what they called ‘the quiet hour’. They were short films about people working on different things in their workshops. One for example had someone blowing glass and making something from scratch. No music, no words, just the sounds from the work. They were wonderful to watch in my opinion.
Nice that the inner cable routing/bowden is done with foam cover to avoid noises, the „normal“ grizl that i got over the Canyon-Homepage rattles on gravel because of the lack of these things...
The big suppliers are out, whatever comes in goes to filling back orders (I just got a notice that a set of 28mm conti 5k tls I ordered 6 MONTHS AGO finally shipped from bike tires direct) BUT while I was waiting I found a small shop in Poland and another in Austria that had them in stock. So I ordered set each from them, international and had them in a couple of weeks. I also have a full high end build kit for a monstercross project that took me a two months to collect from various sources -while I was waiting my place in the cue to custom design and put into production my new Ti frame. The frame should be done later this month. Hell, I even found a new PURPLE ANO Chris king headset... those were tough to find pre covid... If you are willing to dig and do the leg work to find them(shops don't have hours to look for parts, the look at QBP's website and if it's there- good... and if it isnt? "There are no parts available") ... there ARE parts out there... you just need to look really really hard, and be patient with international shipping. Google translate is your friend
This is the standard GRX Di2 setup like we run on the Grizl CF SLX 8 Di2. The only difference is that he runs Dura-Ace disc rotors as these are slightly lighter.
Anyone knows whats the standover height of xxs, xs and small and their stack height? I dont understand their super stack on their website. Does it have 40mm spacers underneath?
I'm confused what the purpose of the grail is at this point. I thought the grizl was supposed to be a heavier duty bikepacking type of bike. But people are doing gravel races on it. So what's the grail for at this point? If the grail isn't for gravel locos or unbound, what's its purpose?
The Grail is more suitable for more moderate off-road routes, while the Grizl has been optimized for rougher terrain. On the road, the Grail is more efficient and faster than the Grizl. On the other hand, the Grizl is more comfortable in rough terrain, but not as fast on asphalt.
@@CanyonBicycles ok. I always thought one of the biggest selling points of the grail was that the doubled bars create more comfort. If that it true, and the grizl was designed to be more comfortable, then why was the choice made not to carry the tech over to the grizl if they are superior to regular bars in terms of comfort? Im just trying to decide between the few bikes thats all. I feel like they are competing for the same space in my garage and im trying to figure it out.
In that case, the comfort is given by the thicker tyres on the rougher terrain. 🙂 If you can't decide, I recommend contacting our customer support. Our colleagues will certainly be able to help you.
Which custom bike should we do next time?
Obviously MVP

That color scheme is awesome, especially compared to the standard one. A shame that they are not offering it.. Enjoy the race!
Go crush em Pete!
Dura ace for gravel bike build! Sheeesh
Best of luck at unbound Peter !
Can you tell us about this absolute beast of a drop !? did you take a size S bike instead of XXL? :P
I'm just here to look at all those Shimano-parts that are in stock there!
This video was like a therapy session. Love watching a pro bike build.
Can I really watch bike assembly video for 20min? YES🔥 I love you Canyon
That BB shot is incredible
That tool Kit is impressive too
Ordered my Grizl on a Tuesday, it showed up the next Monday. My build was much simpler but I played this for inspiration. Now time to ride.
It showed up the day before you ordered it? :)
Putting together a new bike from parts is truly a spiritual experience (even more so if it's your own). Makes me miss working in the bike industry!
Wowzers that was so Zen!
This so relaxing 😌
There should be more people in the world like this artist.

This deserves an oscar. Lovely video. Danke.
Making these beautiful videos of bike assembly is how the industry can charge insane price for a bike...
Took it to the podium! Nice ride.
BOY I ENJOYED WATCHING THIS BUILD.
Canyon, Give US more color choices!
OmG yes!! I haven’t bought a Canyon for that reason.
Give us bikes, because you can't buy any bike in europe 😢

the seatpost is so amazing!
Just like the aeroad seatpost 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love mine but without the setback. Really really comfortable.
I just watched an 18 minute ad. And I liked it!
De beaux gestes pour une belle machine. Magnifique!
Great video and especially editing job (transitions, color grading, speed ramps), Canyon!
Nice frame color! Much more apealing than the current range of color options.
The current color schemes are so bad and boring that i've opted for another bike instead.
Amazing bike, absolute dream build!
probably one of the most soothing videos i have ever seen... time to save some coin!
Nice bike!! And that colour scheme is something else!!
Those tools 🔥🔥

Oh , Roman Arnold's Garage 😀👍
Great video. Educational and entertaining to watch.
Super video. Love how you used the build video to demonstrate the components.
Those colours 🤤🤩
Wow, amazing video! Also I love canyon bikes so much, they're so pretty 😍🤩
Damn that’s a beauty!
AWESOME BUILD!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Canyon, nice bikes if you can get one.
Bought a Topstone recently but man this is a nice one! Great job!
I wünschte, die Räder die ihr verkauft würden auch in so spannenden Farben kommen...
This whole bike build asmr ish thing lately….
Beautiful build and excellent video! Can this mechanic please build my Grizl?!
Que bike espetacular.
If only they were actually in stock!!!
The bike isn‘t released yet.
Would be nice to be building up my canyon bike which I ordered many months ago. Sadly I need to wait until “autumn” at the earliest.
Could you provide a part and tool list of this build? 😍
Awesome work!
Nice bike but all I can afford is the Clif Bar sticker.
Looking so forward for my Grizil CF SL 8.
Did the assembler touch the rear disc rotor with has palm?
Yes he grabbed brake track on rotor with his bare hand. I was horrified 😱
which is the torque for the bolt that holds together the 2 pieces of the leaf seat post (the 2 leafs..)?
Should be 7Nm - it's printed on the seat post.
....esses caras na realidade são joalheiros....
😍😍😍 Canyon Shimano
Wassup canyon bikes? Bring bikes back to stock! I need to buy a new bike!
Does anyone know where to find that tool box they used?
So when does this special edition come out?
Where can I buy the frame only?
Sick 🔥
Love the build, but who is this guy and where is Bill Tall Wayne?
What size of handlebar is that?
What did he torque on the bottom of the seat post?
Saddle angle :)
That’s where you set the seat post height on canyons. There is no ring lock around the seat post like on most bikes.
wurde das video oberhalb von koblenz aufgenommen?
Die Szenen sind aus Koblenz. 👍🏻
@@CanyonBicycles danke für Info. Als ich dann weiterguckte habe ich es dann auch gesehen 😀. Auf alle Fälle cool aufgenommen.
What did he do to the bottom of the seat post?
If you mean the scene at 16:05, he's tightening the seat post clamp. 😉
For the ones asking, the tools are mostly from pbswisstools and knipex. At least the ones we can see clearly in the toolbox.
Es una máquina hermosa, como me gustaría una de esas pero no me alcanza ni para una rueda..... simplemente hermosa........
As for the tools, I am pretty sure I saw several Wiha as well as Knipex items.
Bonjour ou peut on trouver ce coloris violet et rouge trop beau je ne le voit pas sur votre site canyon merci
Found Waldo!
Mine would have arrived by now if your shipping would stop stuffing me around. The bike has been delayed twice now by UPS.
What helmet is it in the beginning of the video?
kask protone

Bricht der Lenker bzw. rutscht die Sattelstütze?
Wieso sollte er bzw. sie? Die Stütze gibt es schon ewig bei Canyon. Den Lenker ebenfalls. Beides ohne Probleme.
what bar tape is that?
So my bike has Been assembled by that hipster? :D
Muy buenas bicicletas me gustaría tener una acá en México donde se compraría una
Nice seat post. The same as the faulty one on my aeroad?
What are that gear/break setup?

Really nice bike! You know what else would nice? To have a decent customer service in US…
I had a great conversation with their customer service just last week. What difficulties have you had?
what’s that torque wrench
What is the tire size this person used?
The tyre size is 42 mm.
what bar tape and which saddle is that?
It's from Pro Bikegear.
What size tires do you use?
This should be the IRC Broken Doublecross 700x42.
@@CanyonBicycles and what size chainring?

IRC Doublecross 42c
What size frame is it...??
That is frame size "M" 🙂
Anyone know what music this is?
what? tubeless dura ace wheelset???
Anyone know the internal width of that dura ace?
I tried to listen to this song and build a bike but I just couldn’t take anymore after 7 hours.
Helmet?
17mm internal width rims with 42 (or 45?) tyres. LOL. Guess he likes super tall section tyres that blow off the rim really easily.
So sad how out of date Di2 is. What a spectacular build...... it could have been.
What would you choose?
What is the vibration pad that is placed on various places of the frame and wheels? I've seen this on other pro bikes..
