The screw idea worked great and fortunately pulled out the whole thing in one piece. The only other problem I had was the little protruding thing that makes the jack click into place. It was preventing me pulling the tip out with the screw. I fixed that by pushing it to the side with a thin nail while pulling on the screw and it came right out. Thank you.😃
Great top tip, worked a treat! I used a 3.5mm screw. That got the middle bit out, the cotton bud didn't work for me so I continued to use the 3.5mm screw carefully and it brought it out. Thanks for your video!
Awesome! The screw worked to get the plastic ring out, but the Q-tip wasn't strong enough to pull the tip out. However, I tapered down the end of a chopstick with a little sandpaper, and that worked! Thanks!
Thank you for showing this useful trick been trying to figure out how to remove my broken Jack from my stereo without breaking it further I will give this a try
Thank you very much. My JBL partybox got the same problem , the tip of a microphone jack broke , this is the only thing that got it out and it was effin easy . 😊
Thanks for this mate...much help for me and save me in big trouble... Tip stuck in my Boss Gt100 and i was think my god who can help me to do this..... Simply u did help me... Thank u so much👍❤️❤️❤️🙏
I broke off the tip on the other side of the cable so I could compare the hole size. Then I had a set of diamond coated grinders (made for dremel/high speed tool). Found a size that fit but had to be twisted a bit. Grabbed on and then put a little torque/lean on it while pulling it out. Also had omto do as others said to push the retaining contact/clip out of the way. Also used a little gravity to help (so from an inverted position. Darn things. Don't let people trip over your cables 😅
Welp, when I put pressure on the screw, I must have used too much force because I heard a click and then the tip popped out the back of the jack and went spelunking down the amp. I never recovered it, but the input works again so all's well that ends well. Thanks!
I used an m3 tap from a tap and die set (used to cut threads in metal) gripped the metal tip that was stuck perfectly, out in 5 seconds after trying tweezers for half an hour.
Does not work for all types of jacks mine was built different than the one showed in this video somehow managed to get it out with a pair of long Surgical tweezers but took a while to get a good bite to pull it out
In this video, it was a 1/4" Jack that is stuck like any instrument cable. And yes, took a little while for the screw to get a good bite. Well, hope you got it out eventually.
PLEASE HELP my headphone jack is struck deeply in the audio port. I tried taking it out with a needle but it came out like what you showed in the video when you used the screw except for me the metal/plastic? skin came off and rest is still deep inside and I am unable to take out the rest as what ever was in first part is sticking out (it is only wire with thin layer or coil or metal around it) so please help
I had a very bad experience with My DENON Amplifier when i broke Sennheiser headset jack and IT WAS STUCK inside!! Very deeply... In the beggining,i used glue!!! Wrong! Very thin pliers.. Nothing! I was desperate that i had to move the whole Amplifier to an expert😰😱 Suddenly i had an idea: Drill bit!! The idea with screw is a good one but i suggest DO NOT USE Screwdriver cause you don't have the feeling needed for such sensitive operation.. A) I saw inside Denon jack with a magnifier lense and light to see what has been left.. B) I used a drill bit No 2(i think 3 maybe better) which i started to screw with ONLY my fingures force.. When i felt it had stopped,i pulled back the drill not exactly in straight line! And the miracle came: IT CAME OUT!!! I replaced the broken jack with a new one: Perfect!!! Finally, UA-cam is a big helper😉 Have a nice time, 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
HOW does that happen ? I took two pairs of channel locks and I tried and tried to break the tip off ( with out bending ) and it's impossible !!!! If I can't purposely break one after 10 minutes of trying.. and then another 10 minutes of trying with a lot of pressure but not enough to ban to ruin it I couldn't take that tip off to save my life..... For an hour I tried with two pairs of channel locks.... So how the hell is one of those supposed to break in the back of a guitar effects or in a guitar amp ...... I have played professionally 7 nights a week for 30 years in clubs all over Los Angeles Phoenix Arizona Nashville Tennessee Chicago the Aleutian Islands the Bering Sea.. and I don't understand how any of those can ever break inside of a unit if I can't break it on purpose and I rebuilt my first engine when I was 15 years old I know what I'm doing.... they don't !!!!!
Thanks for your video! I tried several sizes of screws to help me out of the TIP and I found that the 3.5mm width screws fit just right.
Hero!! Always find the gem I’m looking for in the comments eventually
Glad to hear that!! 👍😊

You saved my helix. I was about to give up on anything but tearing it open. I can’t believe after like a year all I needed was a q-tip.

Before I watch this video, I've opened my Pod Go, and its not possible to take the tip out from inside, the jack is sealed!
Thank you.😃
Thanks for the tip about the thin nail method, I'll try it.
You're welcome! Glad it helped👍
Great top tip, worked a treat! I used a 3.5mm screw. That got the middle bit out, the cotton bud didn't work for me so I continued to use the 3.5mm screw carefully and it brought it out. Thanks for your video!
