LYRICS
Model house life meltdown
Still a modern dream let down
It kills me you know I’m dying out here
What would you trade the pain for?
I’m not sure
We were a hammer to the Statue of David
We were a painting you could never frame and
You were the sunshine
Of my lifetime
What would you trade the pain for?
This city always hangs a little bit lonely on me
Loose
Like a kid playing pretend in his father’s suit
I’d never go, I just want to be invited
Oh
Got to give up
Get the feeling
Get the feeling
Don’t fight it
Fight it
Sending my love from the other side of the apocalypse
And I just about snapped
Don’t look back
Every lover’s got a little dagger in their hand
Love from the other side of the apocalypse
And I just about snapped
Don’t look back
Every lover’s got a little dagger in their hand
Generation sleep I’m falling in and out of love
I’m getting that tilted feeling out here
What would you trade the pain for?
I’m not sure
Nowhere left for us to go but heaven
Summer falling through our fingers again and
You were the sunshine
Of my lifetime
What would you trade the pain for?
They say we gotta get ahead yeah,
No matter what it takes
But there’s no way off the hamster wheel on this rat race
I’d never go, I just want to be invited
Oh
Got to give up
Get the feeling
Get the feeling
Don’t fight it
Fight it
Sending my love from the other side of the apocalypse
And I just about snapped
Don’t look back
Every lover’s got a little dagger in their hand
Love from the other side of the apocalypse
And I just about snapped
Don’t look back
Every lover’s got a little dagger in their hand
I saw you in a bright clear field
Hurricane heat in my head
The kind of pain you feel to get good in the end
Good in the end
Inscribed like stone and faded by the rain:
“Give up what you love
Give up what you love before it does you in…”
Sending my love from the other side of the apocalypse
And I just about snapped
Don’t look back
Every lover’s got a little dagger in their hand
Love from the other side of the apocalypse
And I just about snapped
Don’t look back
Every lover’s got a little dagger in their hand

I love it
I'm so surprised no one is talking about the incredible "classic" book titles they have on the shelf. "The Weezer of Oz", "Catch-182", "Good Charlotte's Web", "Crime and Punishment at the Disco"?? I mean those are just plain gold.
'where the wild things MCR' too!
I am! I'm that was the first thing I noticed!!!
Catch 182
Good Charlotte's Web
Crime & Punishment
at the Disco
Of Modest Mice & Men
The Weezer of Oz
Taking Back Sundays with Morrie
The Giving Plain White Tee
I don't know why but I'm sad there is no Paramore or Cobra reference
@@jarikvanloocke8623 Funny thing Of Mice and Men aren't emo their Metalcore. Not even close to be pop punk Haha
I love how clearly we can hear Patrick's voice and the instruments. That's really what I missed about the older music. And it doesn't sound like they're trying to just copy their old sound, but just trying something different from the past few years. I like it!
I agree 100%. I've loved almost every single thing they've put out, but this is a perfect mashup of their older and newer stuff. I love how they can experiment with sounds but you always KNOW its a Fall Out Boy song. This is nostalgic for their old songs, but its still got a new vibe, its not trying to COPY old stuff
@@mogy6492 yeah this new song gives me new vibes and also a mix of Thnks Fr Th Mmrs (2007) and The Phoenix (2013). I am allllll here for it! 😛
This is like new fob x folie sound and i LOVE IT
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@camrockon you're so right!! Its got the musicality of the old like folie and infinity, but the rhythm, of the lyrics specifically, definitely remind me of the Phoenix and the rest of save rock and roll, a little bit of Mania too
I absolutely love how FOB are finding creative ways to make sure Joe is included in the new videos rather than completely left out and forgotten about. I hope he recovers quickly and we can have him back ❤ x
what happened to joe?
@@idek50he’s taking a break for his mental health
Does he do anything with them anymore?
@@gike9481He’s “lead guitarist”. He’s back in the band now, he made the return last week
I agree I think that was really cool of them to do. 💜💜
With so many bands breaking up now, I appreciate Fall Out Boy for still being here while releasing some bangers at the same time. ❤
Steady
This year saw Paramore, FoB, and Gorillaz putting out a new album each. It's been great so far tbh
@@Rankurusu777And it's Green Day's turn next year
This feels like an amalgamation of FOB's career. You have the thrashy power chords of early albums, the orchestration of the Folie a Deux era, mixed with the lyrical flow of their newer stuff. It's like their whole career has been building to this, and I'm here for it.
You said it perfectly
Exactly!
I have a feeling that this is gonna be their "Taylor Swift Eras" album/tour (it was the only example i could think of :) )
Definitely, thought the same
WELL said!!!
Exactly!!!!!!!!!! Nailed it
Any song that creates nostalgia despite being brand new is a work of genius
My husband said this song follows the same progression as a classical song but he couldn't place it
puckin agree 🤟🏿🤟🏿
Just because the video is nostalgic doesn't mean the music is good. Still sounds like their last couple albums which, in my opinion, are not good.
Nostalgia isn't created by an artist, it's a sensation created by a consumer when referencing their past experience to the present moment.
Certified work of genius
Trying to say you guys are old, when your music is still this fresh? Yeah right, you guys are immortal, and I'll remember you guys for centuries
"Du du du du-du du du.
Du du du du-du du du"

Some turn to dust or to gold
WE CAN BE IMMOORTALLS, IMMORTALS JUST NOOOT FOR LOOONG FOR LOOOONG
We're so miserable and stunning
Senescent: the process of growing older...🙃☺️
This sounds like old Fall Out Boy, if they keep releasing music like this I will most definitely start listening to them again
Big same.
Same, kinda folie a deux vibes :)
You took the words right out of my mouth. I was so tired of the recent electronic BS, especially on Mania. Nothing wrong with sticking to drums and guitars you started with.
i personally like all their songs but i understand why you dont like their new stuff
U mean u are not a real fob listener or a real fan
18 years listening to them. This gives me major Folie A Deux vibes and I love it.
Fully agreed
I still think it's funny how the fanbase hated that album when it came out and I was in the minority defending it... Either those "fans" aged out or everyone came around. Either way, I'm glad the album is getting the love it deserves! "The songs you grow to like never stick at first!"
Right?! My favorite album, tied with Infinity on High. Masterpieces, both of them.
My first thought as well!!
Folie a Deux foi o primeiro CD que eu comprei na vida
I’m so happy. This feels like they’re back to what made them special in the first place and it sounds like they’re having fun again. They’ve finally embraced their status as emo legends are not shying away from it. It feels so nice to hear Joe going ham on an actual guitar riff for the first time in years. However if he doesn’t where that raccoon costume on stage during this tour I don’t want it.
You get it.
I couldn't agree more! Now I'd like to see Panic! At The Disco do the same, although that probably will never happen.
Are you talking about MANIA? Did you think it wasn’t a good album? (Genuine question btw, I just see a lot of people talking about « going back to their roots » and I’d love to hear more about your point of view!)
@@Kimichedepain FOB post-hiatus has been hit and miss for me. I think Save Rock & Roll is a great comeback album with just a few duds, I didn’t care for American Beauty/American Psycho and kinda shrugged it off as their “pop experminent” album but MANIA was so messy and chaotic and so far removed from what makes FOB so special and if they were to have continued in that direction I would’ve given up on them, I’m glad they proved me wrong
yes! it feels good being a fall out boy this year! (i call myself a fall out boy as a fan, idk why it just works)

How is it Save Rock and Roll was ten years ago?? FOB rolling up and dropping feckin bangers like they never left. SO ICONIC AND EPIC. LOVE YOU GUYS
They came back with a banger, it sounds like their older albums but with a very fresh and clean production. Can't wait to hear it live, Patrick's voice just keeps getting better!
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6
The nostalgia is real.
The voice, the instruments, the raw feel of this song, just sent me crashing back to the 2000's; yet it doesn't feel like a rehash or just copying the old but something brand new using what they gained and learned this past few years.
Truly a new favorite I've looping on spotify.

They always have something new to offer in each album
This is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” or “The Wave” by SLT 🤘
Sounds hella infamy on high
I love Patrick's vocals so much, truly a voice of the gods. Why FOB has been and will always be one of my favorite bands.
I absolutely love how Fall Out Boy has retained their same style over the years, it doesn't feel like winter '23, it feels like summer of '03! 🔥🔥🔥
This song makes me feel how I did when I first discovered Fall Out Boy. I feel like I'm falling in love with their music all over again. I'm so excited for this

This just MIGHT be their best song ever. My wife prefers Heartbreak Feels So Good; a great song too, but I think she's crazy. We started listening to FOB together twenty years ago - turning 40 this year and still going strong - just like FOB. Stoked for this album release and the show in Toronto. "To the Fans that held us down until everybody came around, welcome; it's here!." PS we are all wishing Joe the best

Yess I agree! This sounds quintessential Fall Out Boy but the lyrics have way more attitude and maturity than their old records. Love how they rediscover the passion again!

I'm convinced FOB can't make bad music. Their music was PERFECT 20 years ago and it's still just as good even though it's different. Truly grew up and changed along with this band.
AAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWhhhhhh - so nice
Tbh i even like their semi electronic style during the 2010s. It's like they had a phase where they need to adapt to the industry but they didn't completely change who they are. And now they drops THIS kind of music, amazing! They really respect their fans
I'm gonna need the whole album to be this damn good. Really reminds me of what made me fall in love with Fall Out Boy back in 2007

15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
16 For everything in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-comes not from the Father but from the world.
17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

1.1M views in a week is a pretty incredible start
@@nicholassergiacomi4823 “Heartbreak Feels so Good” has 125K in just a hand full of hours. I’d say people are catching on that they are back.
They cried wolf too many times. They've sucked since Centuries so it's going to take people time to trust them again. This is a good start
they didnt pay tiktok and make a stupidass dance challenge for it , thats why
Cuz they've still released songs every few years and never really disappeared.
Two decades later and I’ve still never been letdown by these guys.
last year I repented to God then begged for help, "I was until then an Atheist."
I then had a dream of Jesus coming before God and he spoke of the Tabernacle in perfect context, "A word I didn't know existed because I never read the bible", and the love I felt from Jesus when I held him in my arms was unlike anything I've ever felt before - A lifetime of joy every second - It brought me to sobbing and it changed my life, forever.
I've had other miracles since, a Few being a light turning on in answer to deeply needful prayer over a Dozen times, seeing a orb of light pass across my face hours before a major surgery, seeing an Angel in a dream the night my mother prayed for me to see one, "Without telling me", and So much more.
Know that God and Jesus ARE real and that they love us deeply. Let go of your hatred and Imagine yourself holding the people who've hurt you. Tell them you love and forgive them and I believe we should do our best to follow the 10 commandments.
Always have hope, I believe Love Is The Answer.

Fall Out Boy back with next music and back with Fueled By Ramen… what a time to be alive
Can't wait to see what people think the lyrics are for this one ❤️
Lmaooo
this one made me lol
let me be the first to say that i thought it was "sand in my lungs from the other side of the apocalypse" 😭
@@lokemikaze Lol; I can hear it, but I think it's "sending my love from the other side of the apocalypse"
Well I ended up making a lyric video if anyone is interested
Knowing Patrick loves Ghostbusters so much, I'm glad Pete put the laser beam shooter things at the end. Haha!
I realize the song has been out for a while, but I just realized how great of an anime intro song this would be.
It’s 2009. I’m 15 again locked up in my room with headphones on listening to this song.
Oh boy, this song makes me feel so nostalgic and happy at the same time.
Ayy I was 15 in 09 also lol
Did not have Fall Out Boy releasing bangers again on my 2023 bingo card.
This is FOB as I knew them back in the days. Welcome back. Great song.
I have loved every Album they've released and there isn't a song in the catalog that I have disliked. With that being said, this is by far my favorite song they have put out since Folie. It feels like the perfect evolution of everything I loved about their old sound and everything I loved about the new sound. I can't wait for the Album and I can't wait to see them live whenever the tour is announced.
This wouldn't have sounded out of place on Folie as well. Hoping it's a great album!
FOB x FBR 🖤 Can not wait for this album!
...
Ghostbusters
Shaking, out souled
Girl... You are the record label. I'm HOPING that you already have the album. 💀 Like...
@@mr.know-it-all1603 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'll be waiting for you in Japan 🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵❤
It's happening guys, they're bringing back emo!
It sounds so much like „From now on we are Enemies“ and I couldn’t be happier because that’s one of my absolute favorite songs. I’m absolutely excited for the new album to come out!!
20 years since the first album and still killing it, legends
Fall Out Boy is back!
There are not words for how happy this song and their return makes me.
Idc what anyone says, I have loved every FOB release and this one is just as great as any other. Truly never disappointed with them!
Well idc what you say, AB/AP was terrible!
Okay that was a little cap because Jet Pack Blues is amazing lol
@@mediumChungus69 okay and that's your opinion 🤷♀️ Favorite Record is my favorite song and if it wasn't for AB/AP it wouldn't be around sooo yeah 👍

They are back!
Indeed!
Funny thing, I’m pretty sure “Joe” is a raccoon there cuz Joe couldn’t actually be in the video. He’s currently recovering from a back injury so that’s most likely someone else in the costume
This is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” or “The Wave” by SLT 🤘
9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
Can I just say that I first heard this song on the FM radio on the 13th of a 15 hour drive. I was so excited to hear FOB and instantly downloaded many more new songs, and wow, did it get me through a tough drive. I didn't realize until today how much I needed fresh music in this genre, and wow, what a difference it makes.
This feels very Fall Out Boyish and I fuckin love it
After five years they are back dropping new songs!!!
We missed You so much guys!!! Sending love from Argentina! We love You a lot!!! ✨✨✨✨
As of today it's actually 5 years
@@himbolastname6379 sorry I've mistaken that 😅😅 Thank you
oh man has it really been five years?? that's insane
@@gottagoquack really! That's since the release of Believers Never Die Volume Two!
9 years, an emo phase and a kpop phase later and FOB's new releases have me as excited as my first. Love this song, such reminiscent sound. Congrats guys, love from Mexico.
I told my son that if he wanted to see a concert this summer to let me know. We were listening to the radio in the car when it was announced that Fall Out Boy would be in town in June. From the back seat he said he'd like to see them. We're going to our first concert together tomorrow night. I can't wait!
"I'd never go, I just want to be invited" describes my life a little too accurately.
SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP!! TALANTED, BRILLIANT, INCREDIBLE, AMAZING, SHOWSTOPPER, SPECTACULAR, NEVER THE SAME, TOTALLY UNIQUE, COMPLETELY NOT EVER BEEN DONE BEFORE!!
