I suppose it depends on where you come from. If you are an American-born Russian, then it would be appropriate. If you are a Russian-born Russian, then it would be like learning Italian from Monty Python.

That's perfect! My books will be helpful for learning Russian and English. I published Transliterated russian dictionary with English translation. Compound words dictionary separated by tables. All details on my channel. Red velvet and Vanilla Gelato. Exercises for an interpreter. And also two copies of these books, where Russian words have given in Cyrillic.

I was born in Russia. I came to the U.S.A when I was 4 year old. And now I’m 20 so I’ve been in the U.S.A for about 16 years. My mom and dad who adopted me told me that when I was little and in the orphanage in Russia that when the people talked I understood them but I never spoke Russian. I only know how to say yes, no and grandma. And because I learned English and never kept up speaking Russian I don’t know how to speak Russian.

This may already have been answered, but how did you learn English? I'm so jealous of polyglots, and I like finding out how they learned.

living in america kinda made you learn english but that’s specifically for me. it may be different for others but english is a very spoken language so you might of learned it in school if you weren’t living in america.
I'm not sure that i'm polyglot, but i know 5 languages at 15 years. Ukrainian and Russian fluently coz i was born in Ukraine, English i know pretty well, can easily speak almost about anything, also I'm learning Czech (already know at B1), and a bit Italian ( it was my initiative to learn, and i try to keep it up). So, i can say that the best way to learn some languages is to know a bunch of words and phrases and trying to practice only on that language. At the same time try to find out what mean each word. So that's it😁

@@terka138 protože Česko je nejlepší varianta pro migraci pro mě, a Češi jsou lépe zacházejí s Ukrajinci, než s Poláci. Ale hlavně je, že Česko je ekonomicky vyspělá. Vysoký plát, nízké ceny, evropská kvalita, bezplatné školení (v češtině)

The expressions offered here are truly great and widely used, but I'm not sure how and what someone without zero Russian language background could pick up :)

I love your voice and you're so beautiful!! I learned how to read Russian alphabet but not how to speak Russian. It would be awesome if you made a video actually writing the sentences in Russian alphabet so that it's easier to repeat 😍
