I would also recommend the movie games, while there were lousy ones, Prisoner of Azkaban and Chamber of Secret are really great, with open-world campus and fascinating missions. I do not think it's possible to read up all the book in one week though!

My god I LOVE these games.. I could seriously spend a whole day straight playing These games just to explore and to find all the secrets.. Sometimes It gets so overwhelming that It gives me a smile that I got my monies worth
I got this game today to play co-op with my girlfriend, probably the only game she would play with me! And I have to say, if you're Harry Potter buffs and love the books/films like us then you'll love it! The humour is brilliant, some really funny moments and I actually had so much fun with it. We finished the first year and it did actually take up a lot of time which is also great. Wonderful co-op game and would definitely recommend for that purpose, although I haven't played it single player!
This game is awesome :D Also, the co-op is not entirely split-screen. Only when you separate and go to far out of each other, it goes into a split screen mode. It's so much fun with a friend :3
@JimmWest201 actually the original british version of the fist harry potter is called the philosophers stone. they changed for the american release. they even filmed each scene that mentioned it twice for the british and american version of the movie.
@AlphaBlobGaming I don't think so. The reason they made Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is because the original 2 games came out mainly for the previous generation of consoles. Lego Indy 2 was made because they couldn't exactly release a new Lego Indy game for just the 4th film. There's no reason to release Lego Harry Potter Years 1-7 as there's no new consoles coming right now or anything
The students in peril are so hard to find in hogwarts it is an amazing game but I have one more student to find and it's driving me insane! Just wish they had a student in peril detector! But I really love the amount of gameplay it has and you really get your moneys worth with this! One of the best Lego games out there!!!
It's actually because no 2 bit english publishing company has funds to support such a high budget production. And Nicholas Flamel was not a philosopher, he was a sorcerer.
You know what really doesn't make sense about this ? they are using the hair for the characters from the old sets but the minifigs the LEGO company is making this year in the new harry potter sets have different hair.

@MultiqProductions Idk where you do it in the 360/wii/ps3. But in the PSP, there is a hub that is pretty the gryffindor common room imo, with a shop and 4 doors(one for each story). And opposite the shop is a dressing room type area, where you make characters.
The book J.K Rowling wrote was officially shipped and sold as Philosophers Stone. The Americans changed the title to Sorcerer's Stone because its easier for kids to understand
Are there any annoying vehicle sections in this? I saw theres a broom - does that handle like shit like the vehicles in other lego games or have they finally tweaked the system?

I got Lego Harry potter recently and I thought when I started playing that it was a bit boring but then I started playing really cool levels when you could fly broomsticks and things like that.
If the game wasn't so glitchy I would actually recommend buying this. Because of glitches you might have to restart you entire game just to get one more gold brick and miss like 5 more achievements because of it.
@Crashgek Well the Lego games have never tried to be the same as the films. They've always done it in a funny way like for example, Darth Vader showing a polaroid of Anakin and Padme. You can't do stuff like that in Lego games the same as the films because there's no dialogue
My sister and me got totally ADDICTED to this game, it's SO hilarious. And we were in our first year at hogwarts when it happened. It was Christmas time and Hagrid came in with a huge tree, and my computer jammed! :"( It was so horrible.

Gosh you people are silly, JKR wrote Harry Potter and the PHILOSOPHER'S stone - thus that is the name of the book & film, however it is rendered to American tastes to Sorcerers stone in the USA. All the translations are of philosopher, not sorcerer. Seeing how the author is English, I think you'll have to agree that we're right. (;
Saturday a friend brings me 1-4 and 5-7 from the UK as here in Spain where I living now you cant get the 1-4 anymore and the 5-7 does cost here as much as the 2 games in the UK.

Lego SW 1 had 3 parts and 2 had 3 parts but The Complete Saga had 6. Lego Indy had 3 but Indy 2 had 4. Lego POTC will have 4. They can have as many as they want. They can make 7 longer to make up for it though
Yeah sure like somebody would play it online, there is local coop with friends, and its the most fun thing you can get from this game with other people.

No online? Why is that a factor in a Lego game? It's a local co-op game, just use Parsec if you *have* to play it online.

Some countries published the first book as sorcerer's stone, some as philosopher's stone. Also, Flamel was an alchemist.
This is the best LEGO game yet! I CAN'T WAIT for 5-7. TT Games, hire a thousand more employees and have it ready for next november.

The lego version. I have both and I think the Lego one is a lot more fun, you can explore a lot more and the immersion is a lot better.
