Cool bit of trivia: Flect Turn's quirk even reflects light, so he's blind without the glowing devices under his eyes. Some quirks are very unfortunate.

But yeah, if the dude is blind due to passively deflecting all light from entering his retinas, then it’s safe to ask if other things would be deflected passively. But then again it’s MHA, the rules of Quirks are odd and a bit inconsistent.

I don't know why people are shocked when bakugo knows how to do shit, he's probably ONE of the most versatile characters on this show, he's a cook, drummer and a lil techy and has good social awareness

@@kt-1144 It's actually Mineta second, Iida, Bakugo, and Deku are neck in neck in intelligence based on the Ultra Archive. Those three have 4/5 in the intelligence area while Mineta has a 5/5 and Momo has a 6/5.
@@kt-1144 That was all done at the beggining of their first year and we don't even know how they relates to actual battle smarts. It's a fact Bakugo by this point is the smartest tactician and combatant.
Because it always comes out of no where. It’s never suggested Bakugo can cook we just see him do it at the camp, it’s never suggested he’s a drummer Jiro calls him out, we never see him do anything computer related before this movie either, so people are rightfully surprised
I love that Deku's solution to beating Flect Turn was literally: "Deflect these hands bitch."
If you notice, he still had full function of his arms after beating Flect Turn. Meaning he didn't even go 100%. That was probably closer to 50-60% and he still completely annihilated fucking everything.
That's because in the manga, Midoriya's body is strong enough to handle 100% just enough without shattering his arms again.

Something I love about this movie is the continuity with the other movies. You can see Melissa in one of Midoriya's flashbacks, and the design of his 100% here is consistent with Heroes Rising. There's some nods to the movies in the main story, but it's nice that at least the movies themselves can fully reference each other.
Also, I agree with Chris. Sometimes, it was necessary for Deku to break his limbs, but dude was breaking his fingers *twice* over a goddamn Sports Festival match. He's got a little bit of madness in him.
I actually really love this movie. The countryside road trip vibe (especially the montage with the song) really appeals to me, and I really enjoyed the ending (even if Deku seemingly went 100% without any repercussions). But I do agree about the stealth costumes. I _need_ to see more of them!

@@McLoviniam That's incorrect. He was always a top student and extremely smart. He scored right above Deku on the test in class and then tutored Kirishima. He also showed it when he first fought Deku how much he understood to not directly hit Deku or to destroy the building too much. He'd just also brash and confident in his ability
I am late af but I wanted to add that in the first episode of season one, he says he aced the mock tests (in middle school, before applying for U.A)... He's been smart, not half-way through season 3

I think the second film is the best one, but this one definitely has the greatest movie character ever to be originally created for MHA, as proven by his popularity and eventual adaptation into main canon. I love Rody so much.

@@kumanight Fair enough! I liked this one a whole lot, I just though 2 was more well-structured and coherent. But I do think the animation here was wayyyy more unique, memorable and well-done, and I think overall I like this one the best.
Its only the animation and fight scenes of the end movie that are better, this movie has a better plot, villain, character focus and use of main characters and a better civie, Rody is far more interesting and complex than the kids from the second movie ,his siblings are cuter too, overall as a movie and story this one is far better done

For example, I think the second movie did a better job balancing having all those characters feel like they mattered, whereas this one felt like most of the characters were sidelined plot wise except for the main four. The storytelling was also more balanced in 2.
But like I said. I still like this better.
Fun Fact : The Country of Otheon is based on Portugal, I've lived here all my life and from the architecture to famous streets and statues, it's a faithful, yet fantastic representation of my country. A lot of people here who are fans of MHA and myself as a fan of anime in general don't get the reason why they wouldn't call it Portugal, as we in Portugal love being represented or mentioned.
America got it's own MHA movie but our little nation doesn't even get mentioned (that's rough buddy)
"Praça do comércio" and "25 de Abril Bridge" are some of the places that appear in the movie, with 25 de Abril Bridge being what inspired the architecture of the Golden Gate in San Francisco, the two are very similar, as Chris and Suraj pointed out.
They only mentioned America because it was already canon for All Might to have been there before

@@obieoguejiofor7994 Well, they constantly mention that the Dawn of Quirks was an extremely chaotic time. It's very likely that not all countries truly survived what was most assuredly a period of at least 100+ years of fighting and warfare as people both began manifesting dangerous Quirks, and getting used to the idea that the world had irrevocably been changed. Otheon and Klayd may be two such examples of countries that sprung up from pseudo-states that split off when people started choosing/making sides.

I think they didn’t mention Portugal as the name because of all the terrorist attacks and threats of more in the movie. It’s like how Call of Duty games always make up a militaristic country in the east as the enemy; using real country’s names and then showing them with corrupt politicians, corrupt police forces, and being home to a multinational villain organization isn’t often taken well, even in fiction lol.
I went with my best friend and my brother on premiere night to see this movie and it was by far one of the best nights. Great movie as always mha doesn't disappoint.
The biggest disappointment with this movie for me is that they had the coolest costumes and wore them for like, two minutes. The way their new outfits were plastered all over promotional art, you would think that they would have worn them more. But other than that, it's a great movie. Definitely doesn't top the second though

Why did they even have their regular costumes with them if the mission called for stealth, originally?

While I didn’t hate this movie at all, I found Two Heroes felt better as a general movie. The concept and premise of this one would’ve been better suited as a full fledged tv arc instead(even though it was never going to be one).
Heroes Rising still the best for me, can’t beat that climax.

Two Heroes was literally shit in my opinion, this and Heroes Rising were top tier
no way this is definitley better than Heroes Rising. Heroes Rising is good but ruined by the insanely stupid ending with Bakugo getting OFA. So dumb. That immediatley puts it bottom tier. This is second best. The animation is insane. Two Heroes is still the best. Its a fun film you can actually see possibly taking place in continuity, its not end of the world stakes like this one which can get a bit silly, and you get an All Might/Deku team up youll never see any other time.
Horikoshi’s favorite American super hero is spider-man. So he modeled deku after him a little.
I see Peter Parker's nerdiness in Deku
I like this film. It is short, sweet and to the point. I really like how it emphasises the core tenants of being a hero from Deku. Also in hindsight I have a unique appreciation of what was shown.

The main thing to notice on this movie, Bakugou is way more social now w Deku and Todoroki, this trio is dope.

it’s funny, this is the first time we’ve ever heard Todoroki scream at the top of his lungs, he’s usually so calm cool and collected when under pressure.

I really enjoyed this movie. It had a really heartwarming story and my favorite movie character (Rody). Also absurdly good animation. Arguably the best MHA movie.

I was really surprised how much I liked this movie. I think shrinking the cast to mostly focus on a few characters really helped. The whole movie feels like a nice buddy road trip movie
This was the first I heard of a new movie- and immediately checked it out.
Those two fights at the end were _awesome._ A couple of _nukes_ got a chance to go off, before we got back to the main character.

I remember watching this movie in theaters, a few weeks after the premier. I got this little booklet that came with the Japanese one, even though I watched Dubbed. This movie reminds me that I love MHA, even though it has some major flaws. Although, those flaws are multiplied in the manga rn 😅.
If any of the Normies are reading this, I highly recommend a Black Clover (English Dub) reaction series. It's quite possibly my all time favorite animanga and it quite frankly has a lot of the things I love about MHA, but it does it better and puts unique twists on Shine tropes. Just an idea, if you do decide to do it, I will be very much excited!!
Watching their reaction to some of the scenes in this movie, made me realize they’re not, we’re not ready for what’s about to come in the next few seasons of the anime 😭😭
The only things that I think was rather stupid was that Rody didn't actually get something as reward. He is literally a world wide hero for his participation in the situation, not to mention the story about how his father gave his life to give out the key. At least a proper home with a scholarship for all the kids (considering that it seems they don't live in a nation with good social security) would have been the absolute minimum that I would have expected him and his family to get.

22. Dabi (come fucking on, the backstory guys... he might even be higher, but I just don't feel like putting a villain this high and he is just out of his fucking mind)
23. Himiko Toga (just imagine what she could have done had society not judged her because of the quirk she was born with [like help grieving people say goodbye to loved ones)
24. Shigaraki (just all of the "what if?s", maybe I'll write some One Shot when I have time and motivation, he could have like become a builder or smth, idk xD)
25. Twice (Very interesting backstory and out of all the villains probably the nicest one)
Just my opinion, if anyone is interested in sharing theirs (doesn't have to be this lenghty xD), I'd be curious to know ^^
and like one day later I wanted to change so many things, I HAD to separate between Students (+ people like Eri), Pros and Villains xD Rewatching through the reactions made me want to change my list, it's SO hard, they are all such amazing characters. I don't think there is any show where I like so many characters that I can't decide on a list xD Only the Top 4 are non negotiable. Aizawa really shot up my list after "Katsuki Bakugo Rising", he is too badass to not be up there
This is my favourite of the movies hands down. The animation has never been this good! Wish the villian was more interesting but Deku pulling a Spiderman on the (fake) Golden Gate Bridge more than makes up for it

By the way, Rody isn't working at a bar for the rest of his life. He is only working until he makes money to achieve his dream as a pilot. Also, Rody wanted to be an honest worker instead of always doing illegal odd jobs which is why he is working at a bar.
Also that what everyone forgets about Bakugo, he like actually very smart when he wants to be. He just never uses his smarts just his anger usually
How would Spider-Man and his Rogues Gallery of villains(Marvel Comics) fare in the My Hero Academia universe?
Would have a tough time at the absolute top but should manage extremely well somewhere around the top. Like I'd assume Spidey would be among the Top 10 national chart in Japan at least

What pisses me off about this movie is that they market those outfits for Todoroki, Bakugo and Deku and they have a minute of screen time and then they are deleted from the movie. What was the point of them? They look so sick why not just make them their new outfits. Did the studio force them to include them?
I just took two weeks off for the coming summer, already booked a hotel for me and the family. Cant wait to visit _the neighboring country of Klayd_

People calling mha mid need to realize the manga has literally been goated for the longest time it's just that the management team inadvertently shot themselves in the foot by making these mostly filler films, sure they make money in theaters but they forced some of the original directors of the first 3 seasons to work on them so in turn seasons 4 and 5 suffered, the lack of consistency in the animation didn't help either. If it weren't for these movies the Overhaul,Gentle,& My Villian Academia arcs all would've been better, luckily the season 6 War arc doesn't have to suffer the same problems.
It hasn’t been that goated besides the MVA and the war arcs so let’s not get ahead of ourselves lol. And you look at the final act now and it’s just filled with problems for the most part. Season 6 should be good though for the entire war arc
Look. I was fully against this movie from jump. Hated it took resources from Season 5, hated that we rearranged S5 to market it, felt that Heroes Rising was where to end it, and....
... I fucking loved this movie, and I can't disagree strongly enough with a lot of the repeating criticisms about it. I think Rody is a GREAT character, and the way to go with anime movies to keep them canonically relevant is to have your main characters take a step back in service of a new, unrelated story that reinforces themes instead of progressing plot. And have the sickest of all sick ass animation.
The things I dislike: villain is kinda bland, and we wasted Deku's first UNITED STATES OF SMASH on him. Everything else works so well for me. I love how no one wastes a second believing that Deku went rogue, and especially how Todoroki immediately starts with Goon 101, and how literally everyone almost immediately says ACAB.
Crazy how Flect Turn ended up being right about everything.

Rody was annoying/useless. Main bad guy was a good idea, but could've been beaten way earlier. And they lazy and just used scenes and lines from the Muscular fight.

Erm no. Deku is a wasted MC and a shit character. He is one of 2 MC's. The entire story of MHA revolves around Midoriya and Bakugo.
Izuku isn't shit without Katsuki. If anyone is a sidekick it's Deku.

@@jahworst Actually I think you'll find you got it wrong. Deku isn't shit without Bakugo. Without Bakugo Deku wouldn't have a quirk, wouldn't be anything other than quirkless and wouldn't be as strong as he is. He's the man who taught Deku resilience and trains him with each quirk he unlocks. Shigaraki is barely shown and not even close to the centre of attention.
Bakugo gets far more limelight. He's the secondary MC. Shigaraki is just an antagonist, nothing more or less. If anyone else gets a spotlight it's AFO because he influences 90% of the characters stories now.
