Doting Mom Summer gives everyone a treat as she brings her tiny bouncing baby over to the window for awesome sweet up close views of her precious 4 month old baby boy Bornean Orangutan
Awesome close up footage of the adorable baby orangutan Rufus at Blackpool Zoo !
His cuteness is off the scale in this close up footage of the sweet orangutan baby. Notable heartwarming moments in the video are the close up views of his big brown eyes and long eyelashes and when he gives us a cute big yawn ! He is Gorgeous !
I couldn't get enough of this little guy, who was only the thickness of a pane of glass away form the camera lens, wow, how amazing it would have been to get a touch of the little guy! - I can only dream!! 🦧😍🤭🧡
The inspiration for his name came when the patients and staff of Calea Homecare, which supports children affected by an acute and chronic medical condition that requires Home Parenteral Nutrition (HPN), enjoyed a recent visit to the zoo. The zoo named him after their orangutan mascot Rufus.
In this video Summer brings baby Rufus up close to the window as she lovingly shows him off ! Wow he is just so adorable !
It is obvious that she loves him unconditionally !
1st time mom - Summer gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on Sunday 28th April 2024
In this video Summer treats us to more tiny glimpses of her precious newborn, she keeps adjusting baby's position, holding him close to her so he can relax and feed.

21 year old, Summer seemed to be coping really well with her new-born baby and first impressions were that she is a wonderful doting mom and the baby was feeding well during the visit. Summer was the last baby born at Blackpool Zoo before the arrival of baby Jarang 21 years later
Summer and her baby were sharing the same enclosure as Jingga and Jarang and the 2 moms were cohabiting well together
Kawan the father of the 2 baby boys was very interested in his new family and spent a lot of time watching them from the enclosure he is sharing with Summer's older sister Cherie.
Blackpool Zoo's Orangutan family are part of the European Endangered Species Programme (EEP)
The father of the new born baby orangutan 14 year old Kawan moved to Blackpool Zoo in 2022 from Apenheul Zoo in the Netherlands and was an instant hit with the resident female orangutans Cherie Summer and Jingga
He came to the zoo as part of the European Endangered Species program after his much loved predecessor Ramon was moved to a new group in Germany where he has just become a new father himself
Kawan was specially selected by experts to join the female group at Blackpool Zoo and has settled into his new role as alpha male orangutan very well
There are currently 6 Bornean Orangutans in one family group at Blackpool Zoo consisting of adult females Cherie Summer and Jingga , Alpha Male Kawan , baby Jarang and the new male baby orangutan
