Rep. Thomas Massie to AG Garland: What Gives You The Authority to Appoint A Special Counsel? 6/4/24

  • Is Special Counsel Jack Smith's office Constitutional? Unlike U.S. Attorneys, he wasn't appointed by the President and wasn't confirmed by the Senate.
    Congress never even authorized a Special Counsel office to exist. We shouldn’t pretend this position is legal or independent.

    It would be more productive to not have these hearings and save the taxpayers the electricity bill. No one is ever held accountable, no one ever answers a question, and no one wants to be there. Our gigantic government is a waste of our money and time. We'd be better off with Bert and Ernie running the country.

    Garland is such a slime. So thankfully never made it to the Supreme Court. It’s hard to believe that he actually was a nominee.

    Garland has no authority to appoint special counsel.

    • @lindahansen55
      @lindahansen55 Місяць тому

      Then, NEITHER did AG William Barr. The APPOINTMENT of Special Counsel in the Hunter Biden case was ALSO ILLEGAL, meaning that his conviction is NULL AND VOID. Still think Garland shouldn't be legally allowed to appoint Special Counsel? (Or, any AG? Or, only the Democratic party AG shouldn't have the LEGAL AUTHORITY to appoint special counsel?)

    We need to revoke/destroy/forbid ANY bureaucratic (non-elected) agency to make rules that are in effect held to the standard of laws. If something needs to be made into a law, there is a process for that, and it involves the legislative branch of government elected by the PEOPLE. If you can't pass it in the legislative branch, GO POUND SAND. That is how our system is supposed to work.

    Govt has to ACT like they follow a process whether it’s a law or regulation because they want you the people to perceive it as some sort of important official process. The best acting is in a court system. You have these actors playing out a drama story so that it impresses upon the human being, that they’re legit and that you must abide by their man made laws. But the truth is, no human is obligated to follow any laws made by Govt. The only valid laws are natural laws…..like do not steal and kill etc.

    I love Massie even if he pretends to be a republican but isn’t infuriating to anyone else that these bureaucrats have a point when they say bipartisan or both parties? Basically pointing out it’s a uniparty and reminding you that it’s just a kabuki show of smoke and mirrors that Mitch McConnell and Lindsey graham are on your side and against the dems? Aren’t they colleagues? Doesn’t Dan Crenshaw have lunch regularly with AOC and probably work together late in to the night at his place her place or some dc hotel room? Blue no matter who is stupid but down ballet red isn’t?

    This is all fine and dandy, however when he announced the appointment Republicans said nothing as usual, this makes them complicit. We want the people we elect to be “Pro active” in stopping administrative overreach, not reactive. Especially when democrats break the law and constitution in your face. We aren’t voting in 2024 for ya’ll to be cool with democrats that train left the station. We want investigations and prosecutions.

    "I'll respect the results" "Tell me what LAW I broke!" Get ready to start hearing these phrases A LOT. Faith without works is dead. You will know them by their fruit:Love,Joy,Peace,Patience,Kindness,etc. Letter/Spirit of law. Proximate/ultimate. Riddles in the dark. "Love is the force that enables choice. Love is always stronger than fear. Always choose on the basis of love." "Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."
