    Way to go Michele. Thank you very much!
    => interested much more in technical videos than "nice" pictures (videos without any technical hints)
    Example: one of your videos with Nico testing fins was great too :-)

    Awesome really useful thanks. I have the FoilComp V2 91. I am going to try the 3-4 degrees mast rake 👍

      With the V2 91 I would recommend 3,3 degrees. I found out it is fine with little bit less rake 👍🏼

    Hey Michele thanks a lot for the Video. It really answers some questions i had.
    Außerdem zusätzlich noch eine sehr gute Ergänzung zu deiner Nachricht auf meine Anfrage bei der Windlounge heute welches Patrik Board und welches Foil ich am besten als nächsten Schritt nehmen soll. 👍🙏 wish you a great season on the new gear!!!

    Hi Michele,
    Danke für die guten Tipps und viel Erfolg dieses Jahr.

      Danke für die Tipps Thorsten! Gut zu wissen. Bzgl. Air Inside: Die neuen Foilslalom shapes gibt es (noch) nicht in AirInside. Was dort der Hintergrund ist und ob die noch kommen, weiß ich leider nicht genau. Bei den Finnenboards habe mich beim kleinen bewusst dagegen entschieden, da man bei extremer Welle und Chop die härtere AirInside Bauweise spürt und ich sowieso schon schnell Fußschmerzen bekomme. Beim Mediumboard wäre es eigentlich sehr cool gewesen aber ich habe es nur einige Tage vor Abreise nach Teneriffa bestellt und zu dem Zeitpunkt gab es nur das normale ;)

    4.4deg foil mast rake!! has to be honking for that angle to be used!! :O

    • @michelebeckerwindsurfing
      @michelebeckerwindsurfing  Рік тому +2

      Your foil definitely needs to support that much rake! If you have a foil with low power then a touchdown with that much rake can also be hard as the foil will point "down" once the board is flat on the surface. But with powerful foils it works in some conditions!

    Top erklärt, der große Patrik SL 140 is geil aber schade ich habe den 2022 muss dringend den 2023 haben wegen der tieferliegenden Mastspur grrrr😢

    Great Video Michele, thanks a lot !! Do you think the rake angle has an impact on the mast base position ? I mean, if your rake is higher (4.4 degrees as you mentionned for example, compared to 3.5 when its light), do you need to push a bit forward your mast base to have the same weight of your sail on your board ? And another question, do you move the mast base position depending on your sail size ?
    I also see that you've changed your foil from a Lokefoil to a F4, are you going to do a video about that ? Could we have a detailled video of this kind on your foil settings ? Thanks a lot for your videos, there are so cool !!

      Hi Pierre, honestly I don't change the mast base position much. On fin slalom for example I adjust it to every session but with foiling I don't feel the need. Also with different sail sizes I don't adjust it most of the time. When I first got the board I played around with the mast base position on every sail size and it was always best for me when I had it in the back. Sometimes when I am nicely powered up on a reach I get the feeling that as soon as I want to accelerate the sail pushes down the board instead of forward. That is mostly caused by too little rake I realized but in those situations if I can't quickly change it I put my mast base a bit further back to counter it. I guess it will also work the other way around if you feel like your board points to the sky too much. But as you probably realized having a good rake is much more important to me and moving the mast base only has a small impact compared.
      Yes, I currently also have F4 foil next to my Loke foil. I have the chance to test it thanks to Windlounge. After all I am most excited to try the new (not yet released) Patrik slalom foil in April. As I am no F4 team rider it is hard for me to talk about it in a video as it is such great promotion for them without them giving anything back. I only have the slalom bundle with 100+3 fuselage and most important thing I learned is to power the backwing. That will make it way easier to sail.
      Best regards, Michele

      @@michelebeckerwindsurfing Hey Michele, Thanks a lot for your detailed answer. I've got the same feeling about the mast base position to the back (and not moving it btw). I'm just starting to play with the rake angle (as my previous foils had a platine), my rake was around 3.4 and I had the feeling that I didn't accelerate as much as I can in gusts, even if I had the correct mast position. I'll try your setting around 4° and +, I hope I will accelerate more frankly. :)
      I understand, so it could be very interesting to have you point of view on the differencies between all those foils ! Thanks a lot for your youtube content !!
      See you, Pierre

    Hey Michele, nice video! would be also nice to share some more training sessions again! Also a question regarding the foil boards, would a lighter person need a wider or narrower board at the same wind conditions? For slalom we know the answer but for foiling (which I haven't started yet...) would a wider board offer more leverage to the lighter rider for control or the wider board would exersice more leverage from the foil to the lighter rider so it would be more difficult to control therefore he would need like in slalom a smaller board? 🤙

    • @michelebeckerwindsurfing
      @michelebeckerwindsurfing  Рік тому +2

      Thanks for your question. In foiling it is quite similar to fin slalom so if you are lighter then it might be better to go for a board size smaller. A wider board gives "easier" control because of the leverage but also more power. Most importantly is to know what sail sizes you wanna use on the board. If the sail is too small for the board + if you are a lighter rider then it will be really hard to control.

    Michele, great video. Thanks for that. My question: why shouldn’t a lighter sailor put the back footstraps all the way to the back position? You mention that at around 7:50 in your video and I don’t quite comprehend why that is so. Appreciate your Aufklärung. 🤙🏻

    • @michelebeckerwindsurfing
      @michelebeckerwindsurfing  Рік тому +1

      Good point 😅 now as you said it I am also not 100% sure if my take is correct. This was just my experience over about 10 years on slalom board where I progressed from a 60kg youth to now 95kg. You create more lift with the footstraps in the back and I felt especially the back strap takes a roll with that as you put it more over the fin instead of in front of the fin. Maybe that is not accurate though 🤔

    Thx Michelle, great vid. Feel free to name the current best fin (brand) / size combo.
    Which combo fits best currently. I am quite happy with Sonntag Fins, great quality/performance and customer service. Gruß Lucas ;)

      Hi, I think my favorite fins are still Carpenter fins but they are hard to get. But I have to say that I have not spend much time trying different fins since 3+ years as my journey drifted towards foiling quite heavily ;)

    Are three boards enough for your racing quiver? Better for traveling, not as the "good old times" in the past when they had to carry 20+ boards around the world

    • @michelebeckerwindsurfing
      @michelebeckerwindsurfing  Рік тому +1

      Definitely! For PWA racing I would be totally fine with 2 boards. One fin and one foil board

    How far is it from the front Tuttle bolt to your mastfoot for various foiling sails?
