The best video so far I've seen on car drying towels. Most people show their performance on perfectly coated surfaces, but Josh actually showed us how the towels do on different coatings as well as on an untreated area.
I’ve come a long ways from digging out a bath towel out of my mom’s linen closet as a teenager to dry my car( of course mom was pissed I used her towels) to having these dedicated drying towels.
I have six different brands of drying towels and my favorite is the Griot’s Garage PFM drying towel. If you look at it up close it has a twisted loop construction that provides superior drying. The weight is 1120gsm so there is lots of twist loop material to absorb more water. The plush microfiber towels are the worst for drying a wet car. The plush are good for applying and buffing spray detailers and spray sealants.
Good video. The hand feel of the gauntlet is amazing. I'd say a follow up test could include wetting the panel 6 to 10 times (to simulate a car) and see which one continues to perform. I know that's a lot of work, but you could easily squeeze a video out of each towel and do towel reviews in addition to the pressure washers.
I recently got the "Rapid Dry Towel" and have been loving it for how well it collects water. The mammoth is good as well. I like how that one can be used for multiple cars before really having to dry it
I use the CG Wooly Mammoth and the TRC Liquid8r (16x16) almost exclusively. I have several other drying towels, but I find myself going back to these all the time. I am truly interest in the TRC Gauntlet. Thanks for the review. Love the video! Thanks Josh!
I picked up a Gauntlet from TRC last year and it was a game changer for me washing my wife’s Acura MDX and my Honda Accord. I picked up another this Cyber Monday so I could wash both cars consecutively on the weekends. I love that TRC offers it in multiple sizes as well.
I’ve been wanting to startup my own detailing business for about a year now but recently I’ve been really motivated and have found myself with your Chanel while doing some research. You’re by far the best reviewer I have found with how detailed you are with the products. I would love to get this blower as I originally had this as a future update along with the towels as the gauntlet is going to be my go to after I saw your video. Happy holidays, glad I found your channel.
My favorite drying towel is the Sucker from Luxury Microfiber. I can dry my Dodge Challenger and still have drying capability left. It's better than any other drying towel I've used.
Great review 👏! They all look like some great options. Do you think using drying aids while using these towels would hinder their ability to absorb water over time?
In my experience, yes it does. I soak mine in P&S Rags to Riches for 24+ hours before washing my drying towels to try and remove any drying aid from the fibers. I'll occasionally put some Super Clean in the soak bucket with the towels, as well.
Waffle weave has always been my favorite for drying (and glass cleaning). They also take up less space for storage and I don’t mind using more than 1 or 2 if needed.
It can not be cheap to do these for us. I understand maybe money from views or whatever links and what not but I mean how many pressure washers foam cannons have you purchased lol. A lifetime worth. It's appreciated brother for real man. Thanks.
Dang. I bought large rag company waffle weave few years ago and still love it (I do a final rinse with about 3 gallons of store bought distilled water on my 911, and 4 gallons on Tacoma and MDX). Just washed all 4 of our cars over the weekend and still love the way the waffle weave works. The cars that sit outside I blew dry a bit with leave blower and leave them. The distilled water leaves very very little spotting, but not perfect. But you just got me to try the twisted loop. Lol
My first drying towel was the chemical guys Wooley mammoth. Works great on a car, but full size suv or truck and half way through the towel gets super heavy and impossible to wring out the water. After watching this, might have to order a twist loop towel to keep on hand
Thank you Josh, the MJJC foam cannon and Gauntlet towel arrived today, fast shipping from coast to coast, but I need another Gauntlet Towel and all the drying towels I can get, haha, cheers!
A 3 in one solution for drying, count me in :). Really enjoy your videos and the detail of the drying towels is an example. The way that you explain the difference and importance of a towel with twisted loops, well done. Enjoying the chance to win with the giveaways but looking forward to content that you normally produce, once the holidays are over.
Man I remember the first time I used a dedicated drying towel my mind was 🤯 it was like magic lol of course I was coming from an old-school chamois method 😂😂 awesome giveaway Josh 😎😎
Another great review. I currently use the CG Wooley Mammoth for drying but I think I'm going to be picking up the twisted loop towel from either Griots or Rag Company.
Love this review! But I would highly recommend you look at luxury microfiber towels, their Sucker (the drying towel name) is amazing and I’m able to dry my entire Yukon XL with one towel! I think you’ll love it and might even become a new favorite!
I personally love waffle weave they also dry the glass very well, have to use about 2 per vehicle but they do perform nicely. Just picked up 2 twisted loop from my new favorite company and excited to try them
Thanks for the opportunity to win these awesome giveaways and always bringing attention to brands/products that are easier on the wallet but still produce great results 🤙🏻

For being honest and thorough and not hiding your bias but being fair you earned a new subscriber
You are one of the very few people who actually do reviews and honestly your reviews are spot on man keep it up!

They also suck for leaving behind fibres, so you have to wash them first unlike some of the others you mentioned.
Yup twist loop is the way. The Sucker towel from lux microfiber. 1400 gram twist loop.Amazing towel.
hey man, how many cars do you get out of one towel? im thinking of how many i should buy
I got the gauntlet towels because of this review and could not be happier they make drying the car so much easier and enjoyable.

Drying towels, twist loop, really do a great water removal system. A small blower would really be a great addition to car washing!
I recently got the "Rapid Dry Towel" and have been loving it for how well it collects water.
The mammoth is good as well. I like how that one can be used for multiple cars before really having to dry it
Great info on drying towels. Very informative. Never knew there was such a big difference in towels. Appreciate that you use the products you review

Standing by for tomorrow, everyone will need to bring in a picture with a chicken, a hamster and a golf ball

As a kid in the 60s and 70s we used downgraded bath towels for drying the cars lol, great comparison Josh 👍😁
Never tried a large towel to dry. Can't wait to try. Thanks!!
My favorite drying towel is the Sucker from Luxury Microfiber. I can dry my Dodge Challenger and still have drying capability left. It's better than any other drying towel I've used.
That's a twist loop
Dallas Paint Corrections brand? Yea if its a twist loop it should perform similar to these, but twist loop is my favorite as well!
The luxuryMicrofiber sucker and sucker jr are awesome
Such a great video on drying towels that will help many people starting or just don't know which towels are best
Great review 👏! They all look like some great options. Do you think using drying aids while using these towels would hinder their ability to absorb water over time?

@@PTerracina Perfect thanks!
Twist loop towels are the bomb diggity! They really have come a long way and all have their benefits. Thanks for doing this review.
Waffle weave has always been my favorite for drying (and glass cleaning). They also take up less space for storage and I don’t mind using more than 1 or 2 if needed.
I absolutely love them for windows! Windows used to be my worst enemy until the waffle!
They dont absorb for shit, great for glass tho.
@@whitegoodman7465they absorb quickly but they also saturate quickly. There's just less material.
I want to go around the whole car quickly without stopping to prevent water spots. It takes me 2 waffle waves, so I'll be trying a twist loop next.
Totally agree the twist loop towels are the GOAT
Waffle weave towels the the best for cleaning windows
I bought a couple Gauntlet 's watching your videos. Haven't yet had the chance to use them but am anxious to do so. Thanks Josh.
It can not be cheap to do these for us. I understand maybe money from views or whatever links and what not but I mean how many pressure washers foam cannons have you purchased lol. A lifetime worth. It's appreciated brother for real man. Thanks.
These towels are some of the best. Love all these videos you do.

These towels look like they do an amazing job. Can't wait to get my hands on some
Definitely need these towels especially in that Cold NY weather. These will get the job done fast.
I have the gauntlet. It works great. Holds a lot of water. Thanks Josh.
My first drying towel was the chemical guys Wooley mammoth. Works great on a car, but full size suv or truck and half way through the towel gets super heavy and impossible to wring out the water. After watching this, might have to order a twist loop towel to keep on hand
The gauntlet towel has been my favorite by far. Dries up the car so good and quick!
So many towels to choose from... Thanks for clarifying things up Josh
I love the chemical guys whooley mammoth towels. They can dry the entire car and do an amazing job at it. I highly recommend it
I got a twist loop because you suggested it for drying, now I own the rag company. Waffle weave works great on windows for me
Excellent comparison. I use waffle weave on glass.
Great information! I have used the old Chamois to dry. I needed great info like this to update my cleaning supplies.
This drying kit would be a great addition to my growing detail arsenal

I use the Liquid8r and Dreadnaught. Both are great drying towels. I have not used any in this comparison. Thanks for the great info!

Definitely going to look into this towel, currently using a grey griots garage towel.
Thank you! Great review for drying towels. I have no idea there were special towels.

I'm going to try out the Gauntlet. I have the Edgeless Drying towel from Griots and I absolutely love it!
Which one did you like better?
Great drying towels. Speeds up the drying process.
Always have found twist loop towels to be the best in my opinion, however plush also works nicely for certain situations.
Great job demonstrating the products
I need some good drying towels. Josh has the best reviews
