Meredith Grey will be missed dearly. The show will feel so much different without her. On the other hand, Ellen Pompeo has done an incredible job playing the character, making the show what it is and all the way through since the very beginning. She deserves this.
Glad in a way. All of the other interns of her day (save George) and many since have got to move on. Know move for Zola but being in Boston and getting back to brain surgery which was her original passion, is fitting
I get in the way you're 13 years old 14 years old you lose a lot of people in your life and you need to start over and right now that's what Zola needs most of all and Derek would say the same thing every time she questioned what she might be doing is the right thing.

Why she was on trials with Derick. ended up having to give it up and switched to general. But her passion was always neuro. The move is goood for Zola but also Mer. She can go back to the field she wanted
They have said that they could go on with a 20th and end which would be fitting if they were to do a flash forward sequence either Meredith Alzheimer's, or in a future where Alzheimer's is completely not even considered a possibility but Zola is a revolutionary medicine, making new medicines for diseases in the future or he is a great chemist

I'm seriously wondering if this will be the last season, because it has not been cancelled or renewed for a 20th season.
