well explained except a correction need to be done. It's not the arteries or veins that determine red or blue color rather flow towards and away from the probe (not from the heart) determines color filling in different vessels. It can also be reversed depending on the setting of the machine. Arteries and veins can be differentiated by pulse Doppler study.( Dr. Naeem A. Azad Radiologist)
