Vs. Fours, yes banishing the pet actually cancels soul link for the duration. You can see it in snutz'a buffs, soul link disappears whenever the pet is CC'd Vs. Jaelaws that was curse of shadows (increases shadow DMG taken)

There is no anything unfair about it, it would be unfair if only snutz was allowed to play warlock and anyone else not, it was ziQo choice to go with mage, so calling it unfair is stupid. Ofc matchup would be closer if it was warlock vs warlock but that doesn't mean that wasnt fair.
