some parts of the video are edited weirdly and i had to repeatedly use the same clips due to copyright. the original video had significantly more clips to support my argument (a lot from her childhood) which i could not use. hope u still enjoy it and that i got my point across
I also believe that Pearl from Steven Universe is an enneagram social 1 or self preservation 1 like so/sp possibly instead of social 6 if you could do a video on that? 👀
I have a question. You said the sx dominants are the most insecure in that area. And I totally understood your argument, but here is what I have always been thinking: Isn't the first function the one where you are the most secure in? Let's say one types sp9, do you really think they are the most insecure in that area? I was thinking, if one types sp/so for example, that makes them sx blind. They don't spend much time worrying about one and one relationships so when they are confronted with one and one situations, they are insecure and don't know how to behave. Because they don't spend their time thinking about this area. Wheresas a sx2 would be confident in that area because they spend a lot of time thinking about it, learn how to behave in such situations? Correct me if I'm wrong, I am just a little confused right now, especially since I never saw Azula as sx dominant because of that. I can totally see sx1 in general though, especially after watching this video!!
@@Raylaaav no, ur instinctual variant is what youre most insecure in and feel you need to compensate in. take so3s for example. theyre concerned with the social sphere because they’re insecure about their standing in the world, and therefore rely on the external norms around them to make them feel like they belong/stand out in a community. so9s feel like they do not socially belong, so will consistently match the opinions, behaviours, and emotions of others out of e9 laziness to feel like they fit in. sx2s are overly giving and demand desirability and attention in one-on-one bonds. when they do not receive love and affection from these partners, they become insecure and upset. sp9s merge with materialism and sensory activities because they feel this is their main source of comfort and coping and without it, they feel unstable
@@Raylaaav so for azula, she demands control and perfection in her one-on-one connections, she relies on them often for her to feel secure as it allows her to feel respected and cared for. i didnt include it in the video, but the moment azula begins to totally spiral out of control (leading to her mental breakdown at the end) was due to mai and ty lee betraying her and leaving her behind. she then felt no one can be trusted - her highest point of instability and insecurity was when she had no one with her
@@typhoelogy ohh okay tysm for your answer!! that actually makes more sense than my thinking 😭 sx1 azula gotta be the realest thing I have ever seen atp 💯
There are times when emotions live their own life. In me anyways. Unfortunately there is this disconnect between what is felt, and the rest of me trying to convince the emotions that I shouldn't feel bad. So what do you do? Since I can't use my left brain to tell the right brain not to feel terrible - though I try - I resort to getting on with my day and ignoring my feelings as best as I can. They'll phase in and out of consciousness, it's an inner struggle to sort them out until eventually they lose their hold over me.
Hello, I follow your content with great curiosity. With this video, I started to question whether I could be SX 1. I had previously typed myself as SP 7, but after this video, I am not so sure. What kind of solution and resources can you suggest to me? Thank you.
@@typhoelogy Do you have any resources you can recommend that could help me? As you know, there is a lot of false information and content produced on the internet.
That's a fiery character. Perhaps I should watch Avatar, see what it's all about. I don't carry the concept of imperfection within my psyche, so I don't judge myself or others for being imperfect. It's the _loss_ of faultlessness that gets to me. I irrationally fault myself very harshly for getting A- or something, could be anything. I become fault. It hurts. With others I just need them to pull their own weight. I'm looking for a trajectory in them that promises potential or at least them being sufficiently good and balanced. People who recognize, acknowledge, and correct their mistakes. That's all it takes. Though I suppose I'm not forgiving just anything. And yes, the weak die and all of that - we all get what comes our way if we don't fix our mistakes.
My brother is 1w2 sx/so/sp I'm 1w9 sx/sp/so The difference is : 1w2 sx more explosive externaly 1w9 sx : like a vulcan fever and pression scary and ambient. More controled but ver scary.

@typhoelogy I'm guessing you've both studied and mastered the culinary arts cause YOU ARE COOKING WITH THIS!
thank u for this in-depth analysis! it really helps me understand and appreciate the characters more and the visuals help a lot
This is such a good take! I definitely didn’t see Azula as soc3, but didn’t know how to type her correctly.
I only recently got serious into the enneagram and you've helped a lot for helping me realize I'm not a 3. I thank you so much

The popular consensus for pearl is actually sp4 lol not so6
yeah she’s too guided by her emotions for SP or SOC 1. she does have a 1fix though!

Great analysis but I think I better argument would be sx1 vs sx8. I feel like people just assume if a persons is TJ then e1, and if TP then e8.
