Oh this reminds me of one of my elderly neighbours, she was very religious but also very sheltered. She had an elderly cat and would say "oh you must visit again,my p#ssy loves it when you come". 😳
Is that Julia McKenzie singing the theme song? I found this after watching Fresh Fields and never even knew this series existed. Tysm for posting it! Such a gem!! ❤😂
I just "discovered" this show and am enjoying it, I mean, Julia McKenzie, what's not to love?! But, I can't help but compare the attitudes in 1978 and the attitudes now, in 2024. Granted, the show is English and I am, to paraphrase Quentin Crisp 🙏, merely American. And, then again, perhaps it's because i lived through those years...
I like the fact it was written by a new writer of comedy not Gran and Marks, Esmonde and Larbey etc. Nice theme from Laurie Holloway and Julia McKenzie
What a gem thank you VBT ❤
I absolutely love Irene Handl! So full of joy!
Hasn't the great Julia Mackenzie been in our lives FOREVER. A treasure.
Brilliant! Thanks very much .

The actress who played Miss Cartwright was in The Two Ronnies spoof, The Worm That Turned she played a member of The State Police, back in 1980
What's not to love about this 😁

The days when ITV produced decent comedy.

Irene handel😊
Please say that you have more? 😁
Yes I have more.
@@vbt1957 we'd love to see them please 😁
Handl seems to be performing almost without a script in this. It is very clever. It is like she has decided to appear on set without rehearsals.
@@paulwild3676 having seen her being interviewed, I think that she did just talk like that naturally anyway!
Great, it's a bit like a female version of Steptoe
Wasn't he in Sorry!?
Yes, he was Timothy Lumsden's best friend
