When you mentioned the glockenspiel and how it's really dainty, I immediately thought of how minorities are often expected to be polite and composed, even in the face of discrimination and microaggressions, especially when Asian women are often portrayed as dainty and submissive.
What a great insight! Yes that is a typical stereotype that Asian women come off as dainty and submissive. Just like black women have a hard exterior and are seen as very dominant. Rina is challenging that with this beautiful contrast of a song. I definitely see why people like her.
The metal approach was perfect for this song and it's topic because its kind of like that built up anger being released
The actor in this was actually mortified by the lines he had to say, he made Rina laugh on set though you should check out the BTS for this video :)

You should react to Fiona Apple's Fetch the Bolt Cutters. It is an INSANE album production wise (it's all acoustic tho I think???) But it makes so many weird decisions and the percussion is crazy and chaotic but goddamn it is amazing and works so well hehe

This is very unrelated and idk if you’ll ever even see this comment, but since you’re a producer and all I was wondering that maybe you could react to Mylene Farmer.. her songs/the melodies or producing in them (esp 1988-2005 albums) is amazing, unique too. She’s probably the most successful artist of all time in France, with 21 no1 hits & 15 no1 albums there (she only has 11 studio albums, the rest are live/remix/best of albums). A record she has held since 2008 w 8 no1 hits (all singles from that album were no1)!! Her 2013 tour was the fastest selling tour in French history.. she’s the only french singer to sell out Stade de France (82k per concert) 2 times, not to mention that she did it only in 3 hours! Very impressive, if you asked me. She’s one of the artists whose totally broken through and her fanbase has been with her for 36 years!! That’s a very long time and it’s hard to accomplish such loyalty..
anyway I really suggest checking out an album of hers, be it ainsi soit je (1988), l’autre (1991), Anamorphosée (1995), Innamoramento (1999) or Avant que l’ombre (2005).. all are unique and those 5 are done during her ‘golden era’.. her lyrics are amazing, she always writes them herself (since 1986). Her composer has been, since the start of her career, Laurent Boutonnant (only him, though she has also composed some of her songs just cuz). If an album is too much then maybe songs like je te rends ton amour (1999), sans logique (1988), désenchantée (1991, her biggest hit & fan fav), Avant que l’ombre (2005), California (1995) etc..

Can you PLEASE react to Why Don't We they have an album coming out January 15th that they fully wrote and produced by themselves. They're a 5 man band that started in 2016 and their names are Corbyn(22), Jack(21), Daniel(21), Jonah(22) and Zach(19). They have incredible voices. I got to see her last November and this song went so hard live! She’s also an amazing performer, one of the coolest shows I’ve been to in a long time
Yay!! Thank you for reacting! Her original label actually dropped her when they heard this was gonna be the first single from the album. Some of the dialogue was improvised by the actor but others were actual lines she’s heard people say to her. The lyrics are also really interesting in that she reflects on whether or not to confront these micro aggressions and possibly make it uncomfortable for people around her or just keep quiet and kind of take on that discomfort! ✨
