Hey 👋, I really hope you enjoyed this second episode of (probably) the biggest adventure of my life. Can't wait to show you the next ones. How is the bike friendly is your home country? 🚲

Hi , I’m really enjoying your videos on this bike packing adventure. A couple of observations…
    1. When washing your clothes just take them into the shower with you or simply usd the sink. I’d dry them by using the bath towel. Roll them up really tight and then use your body weight to compress the water out of the clothes into the towel. Presto they’ll be much drier for airing.
    2. Tyres, I can’t recommend more highly the Schwalbe Almotion Marathon. I used these in the tubeless version for over 4200km in Europe from July to October 2022 without a puncture.
    3. Bike shorts - I used bib & brace shorts without over shorts. Reduces friction between the layers and also on the skin. Chamois cream only once a day. Choice of saddle, whilst personal, is also important.
Very motivated by your own adventure. Keep on going 😊

Hi, thank you for your nice comment. Very cool tip with the drying, 😱🤗🤔 this would improve my life on many trips - thank you! How often did you had to put air again in your tires? I was reading of some people who had to do it even twice a day?
Yep agree with what you say, next trip I would only go with Bib's
      Thank you for the tips!

@@UntraveledRoadsOfficial I only had to add air every 3rd day and ran them with 35psi or 241kPa. I was touring with 24kg of luggage though rather than bike packing. These tyres showing very little wear too

Hi, this series are awesome, the quality of the footage is great, it has cheered me up alot, i am anxious to try out bikepacking myself, i am still in the phase of figuring out the setup, i plan on taking 2 weeks next spring/summer for some test tours, but what i wanted to ask you, as you mentioned the budget, what is within that budget? do you need an accomodation every other night to clean your clothes or something like that? how did you plan your budget?

Thanks for your comment and glad you liked it. Wishing you already a great test tour! To answer the question I think it really depends how you personally want to travel and what routine you will pick up on the way. Regarding the balance of sleeping in accommodations vs outside I tried to stay 5 days out in my tent and 2 days per week on a camp ground or an accommodations. Mainly 2 days because I was producing and editing videos on the road and needed some place to work. Later on the tour I changed and focused more on biking and less on editing videos so I slept 1 day per week or per 10 days in an accommodation to wash my clothes. For every country that I crossed I tried to check the living costs, and make a daily budget in some countries I could survive with less then 10 euros per day. Usually although between 10€ and 15€ per day. This includes a breakfast (some bread and cheese) and a warm dinner (usually noodles with pesto and some sardines) as well as water through the day (especially in Croatia I had to spend a lot of money on water, since there were barely possibilities to filter water, and not all restaurants allowed to refill. For me Greece was most expensive (but I spent too much on Fredo cappuccinos) and Albania, Romania and Bulgaria were the cheapest. Hope this gives you some indications and helps :-)

It‘s again a very interesting episode. Thank you for that. Can You please tell me about the traffic conditions in Hungary as you have experienced it. Best Mick

Thank you 🙏 that’s a difficult question now since 2 weeks have past. At the time as I was biking in Hungary I would have said terrible. Lots of broken roads and risky take overs but answering now 2 weeks later I would say the Hungarian car experience was not that bad and it can be way worse 🤪 but more about that in the next videos. Overall I think it depends where around Balaton - which is very touristy the drivers were used to bikers and they took care the part from and to Mount Kekes was scary
