I absolutely love ❤️ Margit island 🏝️ . I live in Budapest 3 or 4 months of the year just across the Margit bridge near jazai mari ter and most days I would go running 🏃♂️ across the bridge and onto the island running on the rubber track watching the many beautiful boats 🛥️ go along the Duna as I run . I also like the swimming baths complex on the island it’s an awesome … Margit island and Budapest are very happy places for me , thank you ☺️ for the video
I loved this video!!! My father came to Argentina in 1948. Lots of times he told us about Margit Sziget!!! I imagined him walking there when he was a young man!
Great job Freddy - Your production value is getting better and better. Tip: increase the font size a tad on the subtitles and raise them a touch. Hard to focus on the video and titles at once cause they are too small. And maybe add a thicker black outline to help them pop. Only speaking from experience.
Summers always used to be hot and dry in Hungary when I was a kid in the '70s and '80s. Temperatures of 40 ºC or more were not an exception and in winter -25 ºC with a lot of snow were no exception either. That's why older houses in Hungary have very thick outer walls, up to a meter. These last decades the weather seems to have moderated somewhat, but you obviously experienced a real summer ... And now I know where the storks come from that visited me at the Palatinus a few years ago!
Amazingly done! The rabbit island is likely a mistranslation: the word leporum, could either mean rabbit or lepper. The dominican and franciscan monastries on the island, specializing in caring for the poor and the sick as well as thermal water sources used as the founding point of medieval hospitals in budapest, it is easy to see that it was…the lepper island.
Yes, Budapest itself is little over 100 yrs. old because the unification happened in 1873, but the component cities are much older. Buda was the Royal city from the early Middle Ages on, and the so called Óbuda (old Buda), built on the ruins of Aquincum which was a city from the Roman period. So in summary, while its true that the united Budapest metropolis is only 140 -150 yrs. old, things are not quite that simple. PS In any case, this tour of Margaret Island was highly enjoyable, the pictures were fantastic, and so on. 9/10
Already subscribed. Thanks for noticing. All things bright and BEAUTIFUL all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful our Lord God made them all...and you included.
The singing fountain plays plenty of modern music. Also for the love of god please don't be a typical tourist and just walk, it's not as big and you can roam freely everywhere without missing all the interesting hidden stuff. If you want a more natural version Óbuda Island is also a nice place.

Margit island is beautiful indeed. The only thing I found odd was the large number of running people. Never understood, where were they running to.

Haha I’m not a tourist, I live in BP… been there more times that imaginable
🥰
Egy problémám van. A zene balkáni és nem magyar. Minden más ok.
Így igaz. 250 ezer népdalunk van, nem lehetett volna közülük választani néhányat?
It surprised me to see Eva Peron there in that tower and the posters telling the story and life of Peron! A disgrace for this country!!!!
