Due to the Corona pandemic, fashion is expected to continue its shift towards more and more casual clothing. Dress codes that used to be of importance will soon lose their meaning entirely. I don't think we will lose occasions to wear a dress, but the occasions where one can opt out of wearing a dress will increase. Still, dresses have the power to fascinate women and men, and beautiful dresses can simply be life-changing. went to hell and back to drape this, transfer the pattern onto another fabric, and sew it with lining. was very challenging but I enjoyed the draping process thoroughly!!

Thanks for the feedback. The purpose of modern draping is to create a pattern for mass production, not to create a one-off dress on a dress form. So the black lines of the pattern must be clearly visible. Keep enjoying the videos.

It would be possible to drape this dress with stretch material. However, using stretch material on the dress may cause the corset seams to press the fabric and be visible.

Of course, the draping resulting fabric pattern is copied onto paper. My idea is not the old draping for couture, but a draping technique to create patterns for mass production. It is also possible to digitalise draping.

Now I'm preparing a tutorial video to drape in Plus Size Dresses. I think this dress will suit women of all sizes. Many lines are draped horizontally and diagonally, so the design is very fluid. Therefore, others do not see the line of the body, but see the line of the drape.

What size of dress form do you use? @library of draping
The size 36 European model is used in this video.
For the skirt pleat, does it always need to do them from the back? Could you make tutorial if we only want the pleats on the front? I can't seem to get it everytime I make them 😔
Skirt pleats can also be inserted from the sides. You can make beautiful pleats if you put the fabric grain at the centre of the front.
How do you drape a straight across strapless corset?
