LRB was THE quintessential Australian band - and one day Australians will come to not only realize this, but, more importantly, realize just what it was this band was as a talent. AC/DC, Sherbet, even Aussie Crawl, all had their moments, but they NEVER had the consistency and sheer artistry of these unsung Aussie musical heroes. Long gone, but never forgotten.
Well glen is at least 65 years old, birtles is in his early 60s and gohbles is in his 60s too...these guys are unconparable to the phonies called LRB in the USA, this is LRB, I was in the front row at this gig with my partner and they were legendary
After watching almost ALL of the LRB posts, seeing all of the personnel changes through the years makes this version of Cool Change exceptionally significant and special and also historic...Thank You Mr. Mutt1967 for sharing this GEM with rest of the LRB loving world!
+podoz EDIT counterfeit assholes who paid them out because they didn't want the name any more and are continuing to earn them thousands of dollars in performance royalties.
I'm so glad they did this...surely it should be sung by Sharrock. And if it didn't sound so much like him, we might need a dna test to prove it. Man, he looks different. Rock on LRB
I have friends that said they've seen little river band in the last 20 years..... so I had to explain how they didn't see the actual band. (Listen to this!)
Gees, if Shorrock is sounding that good then get all the rest of the original line up ( which was always the best anyways) and tour for Gods sake!! These guys are sounding fantastic!! The harmonies were great!! Please!! Don't compare Farnham or Nelson to Shorrock, it's not even close. This Is LRB, always was and always will be. Nobody should be allowed to sing this song but Shorrock, it freaken hurts my ears when either of the other two sing it.
Man these guys sound great. BSG needs to tour North America again. nevermind that wannabe slap together band they call LRB these days. It takes these 3 on the stage for those harmonies.
You guys are missing one of the most important parts. A LOT of the original guitar parts were done by David Briggs. One of the most under rated guitarist of all time. He wrote Happy Anniversary, if I'm not mistaken and was THE guitarist for all the great stuff even before Housden. Give credit where credit is due.
I agree. He should have nothing to do with the original members since he doesn't want anything to do with them. He should let them have their name back.
The original members still sing And if you want to keep the music alive play the original music a on a CD player all of their music is available on CD. Wayne Nelson is just riding on the success of a band he was not even an original member of . He isn't even from Australia. He did actually write 10 of their songs-none of which made into the top 10, He did sing one that made it into the top 10 " The Night Owls" however he did not write it, Graeham Goble wrote it. Nelson is a leech.
of course it's wrong that the guys who wrote and sang all the LRB songs can't use the name...but that's what happens when you don't cover the business end of your music career. Wayne Nelson is a talented bassist and singer and Steve Housden is a monster guitar player...but THESE guys are clearly LRB and will always be.
He isn't the original bass player. He stole the rights to the LRB name. He has also tried to sue Glenn, so he cannot use the name of the band he created and mad successful. if you want to see the real LRB try to see these guys. They are the originals.
saw LRB 2 years ago at a casino, they still sound great no matter who is lead singer now. I think the only orignal member left i saw was the bass player.
The current cover band version, legally stole thru a loop hole the copyright for the name. I wouldn't pay to see a cover band. Imagine if some guy aqquired the copyright for the beatles? He could get three others friends together and start playing crappy version of there hits. They could sign beatle photos and make money touring.
@sethodowd I understand your point but I have to disagree 100%. The newer band is keeping the music alive and that is important. I recently met Foghat with only one original member in the band and they blew the place away. The music has to stay alive.
Comment to everyone, I seen the revised little river band recently with Wayne Nelson at the helm and it was fantastic. I have been a Lrb fan forever and this mix of musicians will not let you down. Wonderful show. This particular performance seems a bit shaky to me. He has lost the strenth in his voice and the wind in his sails so to speak. This is my one of my favorite Lrb songs and they are both good. Do not hesitate to see the Lrb band as it is now live.
I saw the "fake" LRB last weekend in Charleston, SC. They were HORRIBLE..not even a decent cover band. Wayne Nelson can't sing at all and the harmonies were terrible. Three of the "band" members weren't even born in 1975 when they began. Lawyers and Legal issue - too bad - Birtles, Shorrock and Goble are LRB, not these phonies. Ads even showed video clips of the original band- that can't be legal.......
Seems like nothing will make a great band step up to the plate and “Prove It” like having another, low quality imitation version of themselves gigging under their name and playing (poorly) all of their hits. What an audience rip off. It should be illegal.
Listen to those harmonies. No other lineup could pull that off.
One of the best songs ever recorded
31 years later still amazing! The real LRB, not the American imposter
This is one of the coolest songs ever written. The band was SO unheralded in history. These three were the life of LRB
And David Briggs!
Just made my morning! Our generation was so blessed with incredible music!

Absolutely amazing these harmonies
Now that's the LRB I remember!!!
The vocals is so tight and so beautiful
This brings back very strong memories of my 18th year of life. How your mind wonders at that age. It takes me back there easily.
Great, great song. I don’t exactly know why, but it touches my heart and soul. Very special feeling. Top 10 all time favourite for me. Thanks!
My favorite song of my life 💔 " Cool Change...bravoooo
Ladies and Gentleman...."THEE Little River Band" Screw all this other nonsense with Nelson. THIS IS YOUR TALENT, RIGHT HERE
Theres no one who can done those harmonies better than birtles and gobles
God... Shorrock ... what a feeling inside.
They still got it !
Wow. Just wow. There really isn't any more to be said.
Written by Glenn Shorrock. Let me breath the air!!!!!
Can't get any better than this!
Well glen is at least 65 years old, birtles is in his early 60s and gohbles is in his 60s too...these guys are unconparable to the phonies called LRB in the USA, this is LRB, I was in the front row at this gig with my partner and they were legendary
Nice harmonies...this is the Real LRB...
One of my favorite song of LRB.
1981 song is so beautiful
After watching almost ALL of the LRB posts, seeing all of the personnel changes through the years makes this version of Cool Change exceptionally significant and special and also historic...Thank You Mr. Mutt1967 for sharing this GEM with rest of the LRB loving world!
Yup. These are the guys. The only guys that can do this song justice.
these guys are awesome! This song takes be back to a special time in my life.
Give them their name back!
They sound amazing!
Glen Shorrock is like a fine wine. Gets better with age
They are truly the Best. Rock N Roll Hall of Fame

I was moved to tears listening to these guys sing this song.
DAMN.....just plain DAMN!!

The original and REAL L R B.
This song is everything. Brings me back to great memories of my childhood with my mother.
Oh how I miss the saxophone riff!
The original is really the best!
Prob my fav song of theirs...
Beeb , Glenn and Graeham
now this is the real deal I wish they would come to Minnesota instead of the imposters that are trying to be lrb
In every video I've seen Beeb in, he sure seems to be having fun. Great video!
awesome, this is the real deal! Puts to shame those counterfeit assholes who stole the name and are pretending to be them
podoz AMEN
+podoz EDIT counterfeit assholes who paid them out because they didn't want the name any more and are continuing to earn them thousands of dollars in performance royalties.
bassboysix The public are the ones being defrauded by Wayne Nelson.
This is The Little River Band!
tears
+Wendy Ramsey Goosebumps
I'm so glad they did this...surely it should be sung by Sharrock. And if it didn't sound so much like him, we might need a dna test
to prove it. Man, he looks different. Rock
on LRB
Glad I got to see them 2nd row at the Fox theater here in "STL" for a slight reunion show. Before they gave away the rights to the name!
Great stuff!!
I have friends that said they've seen little river band in the last 20 years..... so I had to explain how they didn't see the actual band. (Listen to this!)
YES!!! this is it.... LRB at the greatest...
yes Sam, they are!

Cracking drummer.

I likeee veeery muuch!
Here frigging here.
in this video these are the original singers arn't they?
you definately need beeb and graham for those background vocals that ARE the true LRB. and of course glenn on lead.. accept no substitutes....
This is the real Little River Band! Ignore the band currently touring as The Little River Band!
Yep... This is LRB
Amen and Hallaluyah! GSB is LRB!!!

michael kaus David was awesome! Wrote Lonesome Loser as well!
I agree. He should have nothing to do with the original members since he doesn't want anything to do with them. He should let them have their name back.
This group is the other name for Little River Band ?
The original members still sing And if you want to keep the music alive play the original music a on a CD player all of their music is available on CD. @lordeowyn
Well, I don't really know any of them so who am I to say....
Who is it now that owns the copyright to "Cool Change"?
P.S. before somebody corrects me, I do understand the naming rights issue...but it's all LRB to me!
Glen was the leader...it just sounds better with Glen
It's Housden who owns the rights I believe! We Two ltd. I believe is Housdens company
He isn't the original bass player. He stole the rights to the LRB name. He has also tried to sue Glenn, so he cannot use the name of the band he created and mad successful. if you want to see the real LRB try to see these guys. They are the originals.

hash things out Guys! Wayne and Stephen should go back with the original three, dam that would be great

i can see Glenn on the ' bright clear waters'. With all due respect, I cant see J Farnham there, no matter how much I like him, and I do.
I hope Stephen Housden isn't making any $ from this.
I saw the "fake" LRB last weekend in Charleston, SC. They were HORRIBLE..not even a decent cover band. Wayne Nelson can't sing at all and the harmonies were terrible. Three of the "band" members weren't even born in 1975 when they began.
