- Here I list 10 4K Ultra HD Blu-rays I REGRET BUYING! I am nearing 600 pieces in my 4K collection, so inevitably some of them I am not proud of purchasing along the way. Do you agree with my picks? Do you have any 4K Blu-rays you wish you could take back? Let me know in the comments below!

At almost 2000 movies that I have. About 400
are 4K. Buy what you like. And what you would watch over and over and over again. That way you wouldn’t have a 10 worst list.👍😎👍
Agreed. Only ever buy movies you've already seen and liked. Buying blind leaves you with so much stuff you'll never watch again!
Here's a crazy idea... How about being selective when you buy a movie? You'll save shelf space AND money.

Blueray Transfers of old movies particularly with practical effects are THE BEST. The extra details from the props in the movies shows beautifully…
Seen Gremlins on 35mm prints several times over the years including just last month. The UHD transfer is damn near perfect. If you don't like the image, you just don't like how Gremlins was shot
Ive learned my lesson from collecting video games,so i only buy the 4K movies i actually like and i know i`ll watch and will welcome on my shelf.
I disagree on Pan’s Labyrinth. It’s worth the upgrade for me. I prefer the HDR color on the 4k compared to the color on the criterion blu ray. I would say however, that the resolution bump is not very noticeable.
I agree with all those titles except Transformers the last night it looks good and the Atmos is damn near reference.
But the quality of the movie my guy...
Dark Phoenix looks Awesome in 4k better than any Sony 4k bluray disc I own..
Wish I had that many 4K Blu-ray’s but I’m slowly creeping up on 200. But personally I don’t regret buying any of them. I love Godzilla’98 and love some things about it then most people did. I do enjoy dark Phoenix and it’s entertaining to watch (although I don’t like the character directions they went with). I own a lot of movies I know people will constantly give me shit for but idc I love them and enjoy them
I would draw the line at 200 and wait a few years to buy whatever you want at a massively reduced price as you probably wont watch them again for many years. Put your cash into things that wont lose value as you never know when you might need it and money will be tight in the future.
The last witch hunter at least looks good plus the hdr is amazing
I saw this movie on tv, and went in with low expectations, and ended up really enjoying it. Its a daft movie. But has the same feel to it as Constantine, with Keanu Reeves, and that was a really good movie. Even if it was very different to the source material.
Holy Shit! That’s more 4K movies than all of the big box stores combined. Keep Physical Media Alive!

I thought my 4k collection was a lot lol I'm somewhere around 230 or so. I'll always collect physical media and glad to see others keeping it alive
Real physical media is the only way to go for me, by choice. No streaming, no downloads, no cable network services, only hard copies. I keep all the physical formats I've acquired starting from back the old VHS tape days to my wide collection of music and films on DVD, and now with Blu Ray. Much of my older format material are things that can no longer be found and such.
Keep hard copy formats alive, they are the real thing both tangible and storable.
600 4K titles? Holy Bleep! a month or so ago Films At Home claimed there were only like 700 or so titles released in 4k. If he is right? That means you have near all of them.
I saw his video on that too! Yeahhh, I have an addition...It's pretty bad. He said he has about three or four hundred and that's one of the biggest collections he knows of. I may have to shoot another video of my collection and send it his way...
@@prmedia4446 I don't think I will ever close the gap but I have 363 titles and growing. Currently 5 titles on pre-order including Indiana Jones set as one of them. I to have the Emoji Movie and the Last Witch Hunter, but when you can find them for $5, oh well, might as well.
In that Shaft film, Samuel Jackson plays the son of the original Shaft, played by Richard Roundtree, who is also in this one.

To be honest the movie is not that good, but the 4k transfer from The Last knight is great, maybe just watch it because it is a good 4k transfer with great atmos.
Oh well. I bought "Antebellum" because of how good the 4k trailer looked and a good price. It's sitting in "to watch" pile. The worst out of 600 4k's .. really???☹😫😭😳

Damn bro. I have the money to spend on all kinds off 4Ks but I’m super intentional. I don’t buy movies just to say I have them or ones I know I’ll regret. My collection is for me. I couldn’t care less how others view my collection. That’s just me.

I don't have many 4k movies. But my must have list would probably be Ran by Akira Kurosawa. If they ever come out in 4K I'd purchase Stalker by Tarkovsky, The Duelists by Ridley Scott, and Baraka by Ron Fricke.

Pan's Labyrinth is the only movie you showed worth buying in any format. As someone who wasted a lot of money over the past few decades on crappy movies, just nip this in the bud now. If it isn't something that you see yourself watching multiple times, don't buy it. I have about 300-400 movies total on DVD/BluRay/4k that are stored in a wall mounted shelving system I got from Ikea. It is 100% full. My rule is that if I add a new title, something has to go to make room. I only wish my wife would have the same system for her shoes!

That Shaft movie is one the few things I've ever given up on watching after five minutes. The Shaft movie that came before it is kinda cool though.
I regretted buying Dark Phoenix too, but I actually like the movie, just find the hdr and colours lackluster.... also regretted the new matrix trilogy boxset. what a waste of money.. and alita battle angel and avengers infinity war too...

If you think $25 is expensive for a steelbook, try living in Australia where steelbooks are $50-$80
I don't envy those prices. Close to how much we have to pay for UK/Germany exclusive 4K imports.
@@prmedia4446 right? It just annoys me when people complain when it’s actually a decent price. It costs $25 for standard DVD and some blurays here. Most blurays start at $30 and 4K’s start at $35 and can range all the way up to over $100 but for special editions, digibooks and steelbooks it can start from $50 and go all the way up to $80 even more sometimes!
Thanks God I'm good at picking movies the only one I have from this list is Pan's Labyrinth and yeah that's a great great movie nothing wrong with it so I respect your opinion but I don't agree on regretting that one lol

I was a fan of most of the Resident Evil movies but even I was shocked at how bad that last one was.
this is the reason why I've decided to stop blind buying and be more selective with what I get or upgrade to 4k. I decided to only buy movies that I knew I loved that I didn't have yet, from a particular favourite actor or classic movies that are iconic that I wanted to have, same for upgrading to 4k....only upgrade 4ks to movies that are either my favourite films or 1s that I know from research are great transfers and worth upgrading to. if I have a favourite movie too but after research the overwhelming opinions are its not a,good transfer, then ill pass and keep the blu ray
You should check out shaft, I saw it in theaters with my father and had a great time. Not a very good movie, but it is a pretty big guilty pleasure for me.

I bought dark phoenix 4k during black friday for $7. Not a great movie but I had to get it to go with the rest of my x-men 4k collection

Almost 600 4k Blu-rays? That's almost as much as my whole collection. I've got about 670 items in my collection and that includes 4k Blu-rays, Blu-rays, DVDs, plus some LaserDiscs, Video-CDs and a VHD (yes, VHD, not VHS). With so many 4k Blu-rays you deserve much more subscribers.
Anyway, apparently the 4k Blu-ray of Godzilla 2014 seems to be really good, so I hope you'll like it.

I only buy films I actually like. I have never understood the idea of collecting for the sake of collecting. The criterion collection version of Pan's Labyrinth is indeed way better.

My number one 4k regret is Last Night in Soho. The movie was hyped in media and by a couple of my favorite review channels, so I did what I very rarely do, the blind buy thing. Big regret. The visuals, cinematography, are first rate, and I like Anna Taylor Joy, but the story was just way too syrupy and juvenile for my taste. I watched in full first viewing, disappointed, so watched again a few weeks later to give another try, but could not get past first half hour, quit it, forever.
Godzilla 1998 is a fun movie. The 2014 movie is flat and boring, because all of the human characters are flat and boring. But the 1998 Godzilla makes me cry when Godzilla was killed
I like resident evil the final chapter on 4K. But I have the blu ray one.

I cant agree with you on the Last Witch Hunter. I thought that movie was great. And Gremlins, I thought it looked fantastic on 4k.

I loved Samuel Jackson's Shaft it was really funny. You should watch it. I think you'd enjoy it. It's refreshing because it's not part of the woke agenda that most movies are...it's just a good action comedy.
Pan's Labyrinth disappointed me too. So many unnecessary problems with DNR and color. Gremlins was meh, but not bad imo. Don't really mind buying them since I enjoy those movies.
Antebellum seemed like exactly that kind of shit, so I had no interest in it. Maybe 20 years ago, but not now. I own Last Knight too lol just wanted some HDR candy in year one of buying 4K's. I have all the Transformers movies now and don't even watch them. I need to do the same with Resident Evil heh.

I can see why the others made the list.. but to have over 600 4K blu rays and include the last 2 movies as the worst is confusing to me lol the last 2 movies Dark Phoenix and The Last Knight probably have one of the Atmos tracks and for audiophiles- it might be worth a second watch at least in my opinion. You have to watch transformers the last knight 4k immediately!!!! You won't find a 4k disc better than that one, to show what 4k is supposed to look like, and what it can do. No matter what you think about how good the movie is, you will be blown away by the 4k transfer. Like you, I own at least 500 4k discs, so ive seen some great ones, and some terrible ones lol even if you dont like the movie pop it on to amaze your friends with 4k hahahahaha thats what i do on my optoma CinemaX P1 4K UHD Ultra-Short Throw Laser Cinema Projector and the Panasonic DP-UB820 4K player. I had one friend that thought the movie was 8k 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

5. Kingsman 2
6. evil dead 2
7. Spider-man 2 in the MCU
All of these are edited version not representing the original theatrical presentation with countless audio/ visual changes. Except kingsman and spider-man those don’t have the imax scenes so I sold them off

@@DrRobertBischof Jaws and The Shining are some of the best. LotR is truly mediocre. Heavy DNR causes many scenes to have less detail than the HD blu-rays, and the color grade is completely revisionist. It boggles the mind than in trying to make the two trilogies match in aesthetic, LotR was brought down to the level of the Hobbit films (which look truly god-awful) rather than trying to make the Hobbit films even half as good looking as the LotR films did.
Jaws & The Shining are phenomenal transfers. The definitive version tf.
