    Looks like a really nice tester for the price. But it's strange that it doesn't have USB-C PD (Power Delivery) detection, considering it has built-in USB-C input and output ports. The accessories pack also looks really cool. And the price for all this is just incredible.

    • @MatteoDeCarli2001
      @MatteoDeCarli2001  2 роки тому

      I think that it lacks PD detection because it had been put on the market before PD started to become the norm. It's a relatively old tester now, there are plenty of newer, more accurate and feature-packed alternatives now

    Thank you for making this video. I was looking to buy this to test the batteries for the cell phones that I have to buy for the family. I have a few questions
    1) The battery that you showed in the end that went from 4% to 50%, is that the battery indicator of the battery being tested or the battery of the UD24?
    2) Did you get the Bluetooth connection to work with your mobile phone along with the app?
    3) If I want to test how quickly my fast charger is charging my power bank. I will use the type C input for the charger, a type c output for the powerbank? or would that not work?
    4) If I want to see how much volts, amps, watts the power bank is giving to my camera, I would do a type c input for the power bank and a Type A output for the camera? The input and output are type C and type A respectively.
    5) Were you able to contact the seller atorch or hidance on ali express? I messaged them through aliexpress, but they are not checking their messages or replying.

    • @MatteoDeCarli2001

      Hey, glad you liked my video!
      I'll reply to your questions:
      1) The battery indicator is just a visual indication of the input voltage based on values that you set, the tester doesn't have an internal battery, so if you set for example the low voltage to 5 volts, the high voltage to 6 volts, if you provide 5.5 volts at the measuring input the tester would show 50%.
      2) Yes, I was able to get the Bluetooth connection to work. In order to connect it you need to pair the tester to your phone in the phone's Bluetooth settings, then you can choose it in the app. If you don't pair it first, you won't be able to see the tester in the app.
      3) You can use whatever combination of inputs and outputs you like, so you can definitely use a type c input and type c output. The configuration you talked about is right.
      4) The same goes for this question, you can use a type C I put and a USB A output, or whatever combination you need, it's not a problem.
      5) I also tried to contact Atorch on Aliexpress but I didn't get an answer either. I don't know about Hidance tho, I didn't try to talk to them.
      Hope that helped you! :)

    Great video! The PC software comes with a little tool to update the firmware. Do you have any idea where I can look to download the most current firmware version? I see lots of people have version 5.7, and I have 5.9. I'm wondering if in the future they might release a newer firmware too. Like, for example, it says that it supports PD 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, but in my testing it can't actually identify them as protocols, this could be something added in a firmware update and it would be pretty useful.

    I have a HP EliteDisplay E243d monitor that delivers up to 65W via its USB-C port (PD). I can charge all my devices on that port (laptops, smartphones, powerbanks etc.), but if I connect the UD24 by its "Type-C Input" port, the UD24 does not turn on. If I connect the UD24 to other USB-chargers or my PC, it turns on normally. Is it defect?

    • @MatteoDeCarli2001
      @MatteoDeCarli2001  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, it's a normal behavior. I haven't looked much into it, but i think that it happens because when you only connect the UD24 (or any other USB tester as far as i tested) to a power source without connecting a "final device" in the chain, the power supply has no idea how much power to supply, so it goes in a sort of "standby"

      This tester can be used to test an 18650's voltage and capacity, but I'm not sure about its internal resistance. If you charge it through the tester you may be able to see it, because the tester does a resistance calculation based on voltage and current consumption

      The battery capacity shown on the device IS NOT based on an internal battery (not present), but it's based on the current voltage level and its relationship between the set min and max voltage (can be changed in the internal menus of the UD24)

    The one thing I wanted to find out, you didn't mention... How do I link this device to my tablet over Bluetooth? My tablet sees it, but won't connect to it.. I did download the app, but nothing in the app works other than the change language button.
    Also, I don't know what happens
    if I input 12v to the barrel jack.. Does 12v come out the USB A and/or USB C ports?

    • @MatteoDeCarli2001
      @MatteoDeCarli2001  Рік тому

      To be honest, I had some problems with the Bluetooth too. One thing I noticed is that the device you're connecting it to doesn't show that it's connected, it only shows when it's paired. After that you should go to the app and select the right device.
      About the 12v, i think that whatever voltage is applied to any of the inputs will be mirrored to all the outputs

      hello, I spend a few hours how to discharge battery and use the set "cut off". The thing is that you put in ""Pover Supply 4-30V/NTC", so UD24 can operate. On an "INPUT" you connect a battery to discharge and on any of "Output" you put a load. You can see it in video clearly ua-cam.com/video/oddjtsSPvg0/v-deo.html go directly 20th minute and 33 second to see it. I hope it could help someone - the producer has very bad manual which does not explain such things

  • @irascher

    Can you help me ? I bought the UD24 just like this. But mine is having a problem. If I connect a MICRO-USB cable to the input (5-30v / NTC power supply) My display shows a low voltage red message. But if I connect to the top Micro-USB input the UD24 shows that 5V is coming in. Then you shouldn't be showing this low voltage message. So I did a test. I edited the settings and set the low voltage to 3V which is standard for ZERO v. I tested it again and turned it on but the USB cable voltage (D + and D-) that should each present around 2.45V each shows 0.28 - 0.33V !!!!!! This is wrong !!!!

    • @MatteoDeCarli2001
      @MatteoDeCarli2001  3 роки тому +2

      The NTC/power supply input is independent from the other inputs, so if you connect an USB cable to that input, you'll read 0V on the input because of that. That input is made just for supplying power to the tester not to influence measurements on the "real" inputs, but I'll make a short video about it soon

    • @irascher
      @irascher 3 роки тому

      @@MatteoDeCarli2001 I know that !!! The problem is that to use anergy to power it that way I have to change the low voltage safety setting which is 3v by default. I have to decrease it to less than 0V for it to turn on using independent power. This should not happen ....

    • @MatteoDeCarli2001
      @MatteoDeCarli2001  3 роки тому +1

      @@irascher I think that you should connect the thing you want to measure FIRST, because you'll give the tester a "valid" voltage over the threshold, and then you'll connect the power supply input. I know it's a weird behavior, but for how the tester has to be used, this is how you should do it
