I am happy to see many people in the comment section do not agree with some of Grace's opinion of Marshall, I mean did we expect him to say mean things about Jackie and then get called bitter, plus it's been 1 year already the emotions could not be hurting as much. Marshal is a good guy, shows in how he treated Jackie, he cant be forced to be who he's not now simply cause he should be hurt.
I don’t think he’s being fake by not wanting to talk negatively about Jackie. He’s being respectful and people would just label him as a red flag if he was to talk crap about her. Kinda hard to win in these situations!
He doesn't have to speak poorly of her, it would just be nice for him to be honest about how he's feeling amidst the betrayal and character assassination attempts.

Agreed. Sometimes its just better to leave certain thoughts in your head or with your confidantes, and depending on your level of empathy, you can do harm to yourself by putting certain things into the universe. I know many want to see him speak on certain things, or speak on it a certain way, but if thats not the image he wants to put forward or the energy he wants to wield, i respect it.
@@Michelllelabellle I think that's the key. It reads inauthentic when we can see that your words aren't matching your feelings. However, I understand why Marshall would choose to moderate his language and (attempt to) put on a game face; like many of us he's probably been trained his whole life to keep it tight b/c Black people do not receive the nuanced, humanistic treatment for their actions as their non-Black peers.
I hope he has a safe space to let out his real feelings and fully process what happened to him as well as why he's made some of the decisions he's made.

The thing I think everyone dislikes about the Jackie/Josh, but not Zack/Bliss is how it was handled. Zack clearly broke things off completely with Irena before pursuing Bliss. Jackie seems to have been a little shady. No one likes shady but we can get behind honesty and integrity.
It’s not about Jackie ending up with josh, it’s the way she went about it and how disrespectful she was.
People are so quick to point out that Marshall was engaged before, but Josh got engaged too. He was just apart of one of the couples that didn’t get featured.
Justice for Marshall, this guy can’t win for losing. I think he is doing the right thing by not publicly speaking negatively about Jackie and Josh , if he did people would call him bitter. I agree, he's the better person but an issue that deserves attention is why he would stick with such a toxic person. Because he didn't run away was one of his reasons and that's not a good one.

I don’t think Marshall is obsessed with coming across as perfect. He seems to just be a nice guy who did an experiment that made him a public figure. The experiment didn’t go the way he planned so he’s taking the high road and saying all the right things to protect his character, reputation, job and even Jackie. I respect him for it and I’d love to be able to have that much grace under pressure. Let’s not tear him down for trying to do the right thing.

I think keeping in mind that it's been a year, maybe Marshall really is happy for them or at least neutral on the subject. He knew that woman for what, a month? It would be odd to me to be lamenting too hard over a month long experimental engagement after a year. Had they asked him a few weeks or months after he might have had a different answer.

Jackie was given the engagement ring in contemplation of marriage, which is a contract, Jackie broke of the engagement effectively ending the contract and this must give the ring back.

When it comes to the ring business, i believe he has EVERY right to ask for it. An engagement ring is a conditional gift, and the condition is marriage. Him purchasing it or not does not remove the principle. She didn't pay for it! I don’t comment often on these things and I’m not trying to defend Marshall necessarily because he’s definitely shown that he has things he needs to work on and some more growing up to do but I do think that now folks are starting to over analyze everything. Not just with him, but also some of the situations with Jackie. To say that he was being fake because he didn’t know what LIB was seems like a stretch. From what I’ve heard, they sometimes cast multiple seasons at a time and well in advance of the actual season. Heck I didn’t know about LIB until last season (yes I was late) lol but to me that says that he may genuinely not have known.
Also I think he could have been happy for Jackie and Josh. It’s been a year and they weren’t together for that long in the whole scheme of things. It’s unhealthy to hold on to things you can’t change. He’s moved on and so have they. He probably knows that at the end of the day, he and Jackie weren’t a good match and it appears that Jackie and Josh are. Why be mad.
Jackie and Josh are in no way similar to Zack and Bliss. Not even close. Marshall was everything he claimed to be. Yes, he had some faults after the fact but fundamentally, he never changed. Who she fell in love with in the pods was exactly who she got in person. Irina has 2 entirely different personas, who she is depends on whether or not she likes you. You just can't say how she treated Zack in the pods was anything close to her cold personality after the fact.

I have to disagree with if we support Bliss and Zach then we need to support Jackie and Josh. Zach was not the one treating Irina poorly. He had all the reasons to end the relationship with her and pursue Bliss! Jackie on the other hand treated Marshall horribly and kept the ring which she does NOT deserve and started dating Josh!!! I feel like it’s a completely different scenario. I admit I did not like Bliss being the second choice and her giving Zach a chance but you can see genuine love between them. Loving your take! I was just going to comment and say that she is a dental assistant. She was studying to administer the numbing what he suggested was a whole different career. Lots of years of college. It wouldn't makes sense to jump to that conclusion.
There's definitely an archetype on Love is Blind (and MAFS) of the selfless/understanding "good" partner who believes their love is enough for both parties. And it always irks me, because part of being in a healthy relationship is being clear about your expectations, setting boundaries, and knowing when to walk away after you've been shown that your partner doesn't respect you. I don't give brownie points for being a Captain Save' em or a martyr for sticking around and/or presenting an unrealistic, optimistic future - like my girl Bliss said, that’s a red flag regarding your judgment and your motivations.
Marshall < Kyle < Nancy < Mark; see also Clara, Kate, and Paige - by far the saddest unnecessary martyr from Paige.

No, we had gotten to know them at this point, they fell in love blindly. I for one am really happy we were along for their journey. Just saw Marshall’s interview with Nick. Major narc vibes imo. Self righteous and always trying to “save” someone. Well, when Jackie and Marshall broke up, Jackie said that she was attracted to Josh. So, maybe after their break up, the producers might have asked her if she was interested in going on a date with Josh, and that’s how the coffee shop date happened. But that’s just my opinion.

My theory: the producers were willing to do for Jackie/josh and Marshall/kacia what they did for zack and bliss. marshall went on 1 date with kacia and then wanted to seperate from that whole LIB thing. and then I think the producers didn't feel that jackie and josh had a connection they wanted film or air for the show. Or maybe they didn't like them and decided not to give them more than a coffee date. You'd be amazed how much being liked matters in tv and films.
