I can relate to Monica and I understand why she kept giving him chances. I think she is so beautiful and together that a lot of men like her and because she's not married yet at 36, all of her family and friends tell her she's too picky and she's looking for perfect and the perfect man doesn't exist and she needs a shorter list, etc. Because she's also analytical...so after hearing that for years, she starts to believe it and tries to just keep giving a man chances that doesn't meet her checklist and she's probably thinking, let me just stay for a few weeks and gather my thoughts about be 100% sure that this isn't my person. Because of that, she probably stayed too long until he showed her stuff that she no longer needed to think about it...or analyze it. The problem with analytical people is that we have to really think about things and don't make decisions so easily...especially when she had originally decided the opposite...that while he's not her normal type that he's worth giving a chance. Also, let's not pretend that them having sex so early didn't bond her to him....she should've waited on that for a while because it made the decision to leave so much harder. Sorry for the novel.

I've dated a guy like him unfortunately. These people are not well mentally and are in constant need of validation and gratification, so they will completely switch off from a partner to attempt to fulfill that void. When you confront them, they will try to lie before they eventually concede and apologize instead of further arguing because there's still potential for them to be able to use you. If you did cut them off yourself though... they won't actually be too sad about it because it is difficult for them to feel guilt. They only show "empathy" when they still think they can milk something out of you.

yeah, Stephen's got issues... sex addiction is rough. Their characters were expressed clumsily tho... almost too cookie cutter, and they were established back in the pods with the whole 'I felt she was better than me so I 'cheated'. Monica played her role decently, and Stephen did too... just clumsy, too on the nose... The acting this season was a bit much, and those off-camera family members were smart not to be filmed... they know they're not actors & didn't want to embarrass themselves, like Jasmine's ::ahem:: I mean *Marissa's mom [yes, almost the same character] I mean 'cut off your balls...' 🙄 come on....

I hate when people think they’re a super intellectual when they’re really simple - they just go on and on and they think they sound so smart when in reality they are saying nothing, and actual intelligent people see through it immediately. I was so irritated with his slow “I’m a philosopher” monologues that just sounded to everyone else like stoned rambling.
His posts online sound like someone with a specific disorder, but I won’t “armchair diagnose”. People with that disorder though can get better but it takes a lot of work - but they can often get better with relationships, impulse control, accountability, black and white thinking, etc. I hope his therapist is someone who works with this particular clientele and he eventually can start to learn.

Je vais le dire en français, question de simplicité et paresse de mon côté, je vais commencer par dire que je n’ai jamais aimé ce couple, Monica avait une attitude totalement détestable à son endroit. Du côté de Steven il n’était clairement pas un homme de parole.
Mais je ne suis, absolument, pas d’accord sur l’approche, ici, de le traiter de déchet humain. *or*ographie ou pas. Cette homme démontre clairement qu’il a un problème en lien avec la je dualité et je lui aurais vivement conseillé de suivre ou poursuivre une thérapie par rapport à ce problème. Je lui aurais, aussi, fortement, mais très fortement, déconseillé de participer à une telle émission. C’est extrêmement dommage qu’il ait réussi à passer le processus de sélection ainsi qu’à ce rendre aussi loin dans le processus de l’émission. J’admets avoir grincé des dents lors de sa première allusion au sujet tab*o lors de la soirée ainsi que les fois suivantes. Toutefois, et j’insiste, le traîner dans la boue pour avoir une déviance est extrêmement mal avisé.

At what point do we stop normalizing pain being intertwined with sx? Sx being intimate and connecting is much more appealing than playing out trauma or sexuality shaped by corn. Or should it be shaped by being in a loving relationship where your sexuality evolves naturally. (and that could include naturally discovered kinks!) Preferably uninfluenced by the corn industry that has to get “more intense” to get more views. Corn is addictive and if you have to chase new highs by doing more intense sexual acts, you’re in danger. I wish corn/ sx addiction was talked about more.
