I've been watching your tutorials for a long time and between seeing you do something like this that shows your skill as a performer and the fact that you're as big a Billy fan as I am, I wouldn't rather learn from anyone besides Billy himself. Your tutorials are the reason I can play (mediocrely, but I'm getting there) some of my idol's work.

What's coming through the headphones?
The headphones are functioning as my monitors. I have no sound in the room at all, except for my unamplified singing voice. That way, anything coming out of a monitor speaker isn't being picked up by my vocal mic. It's weird for my wife because it just sounds like I'm doing some A Capella singing in the back room, when what I'm hearing through my headphones is everything you are hearing on the video....the piano, and my amplified voice with a little reverb. Good question!
Hey Steve, I play Billy as well and mostly use the two green covered 'anthology' books, vol 1 anad vol 2.. as well as another one which has songs like NYSOM, Pressure, JtWyA, etc.. it starts with Allentown actually. Just wondering since I prefer to read chords, no matter how complex the chord be over sheet music along with doing it 'by ear' - which books are the best and worst in terms of laying out the actual chords? I find fairly often they mistake say a 9 chord for a 7 and so on..
How apropos I''ve been recently .Steve we now it's illegaltaking your tutorial on this cut and love it!!! Thanks man!! Requests for future tutorials (I know they are low on your THINGS TO DO LIST) but gotta ask anyway;-) 1.) LENINGRAD 2.) THE MEXICAN CONNECTION 3.) SOUVENIR Steve, we know it's illegal for you to charge for the tutorials but you can accept tips for them right?? What if as a collective body of Joel geeks like yourself, we just had a presence of one mindset to donate in the tip jar?? They couldn't cause you trouble on that now could they?? Darn really LOVE the microphone set up, and I'm not going to test the tempo on a metronome, but did you slow down the tempo just a tad? It sounds BETTER!!! thanks Bruce!:-)
Ha! No....tips are tips. As long as I'm not requiring funds for them, we're fine. Those are good suggestions, and I DO intend to do some more tutorials and lessons this winter/spring. I'm just easing back into the filming process again with some performance vids (although I certainly intend to keep doing those too), but the teaching is coming. As far as the tempo is concerned, I have no idea. I just started it at whatever pace felt good at the time. :-) Thanks,

Oh yes, please.....myself and others really love these tutorials it helps us find the chords at times, that we just can't figure out ourselves...or we just maybe don't have the time to figure out!!..and you have al ready done the labor of love, you need to be compensated, and I fully appreciate that. here's an idea......make some kind of announcement about a "new tutorial" coming down the pike..'then cleverly..remind us about the tip jar attached".this will be the cue for us to...."have a meeting of the minds";-).........okay thanks for responding man!:-)...regarding the tempo, yea I think you slowed it a tad, but I like it better!!
