- Liver cancer does sometimes spread very quickly. But it’s difficult to predict how quickly because each individual situation depends on a lot of different factors. The types of liver cancer doctors call hemangiosarcoma and angiosarcoma are fast spreading. But another type, hepatocellular carcinoma, spreads more slowly at first, and then more quickly in the later stages.
Liver cancer is one of the most common deadly cancers in the world, but getting liver cancer, in any of its forms, is not necessarily a death sentence. It is not always fatal if it's diagnosed early enough, thanks to advances in treatment in recent decades.
Doctors are often asked by their liver cancer patients, "How long can you live with cancer in your liver?" The answer, of course, depends on the stage the cancer has reached, and the general health of the patient. If the cancer is localized (meaning cancer cells are confined to the liver itself), the 5-year survival rate is 28%. If the liver cancer is regional (meaning has grown into nearby organs), the 5-year survival rate is 7%.

Took my husband out 2 years after first diagnosis. It was a dot, then it spread. We did it all, surgeries, immuno, chemo, nothing stopped it. I miss him so much but I’m confident he’s with Jesus. God bless you all in the knowledge of Christ.
