It has been a year since I have watched this video I have figured out how to make a double sided bra cup because of this video for anyone that wants to try it you have to decide what is your inside fabric and what is the outside fabric even though you can wear it either way for now and this works for all cups even multi piece cups it just takes a bit of work to remember. we will say fabric 1 and fabric 2. Step 1, with fabric 1 place right side of fabric together pin seam place right side of second pieces together pin now lay wrong side to wrong side of fabric 1 and 2 together with seams matching like pages of a book pin take out pins as you go matching seam Step 2, sew seams of matching edge Step 3, turn fabric 1 out to face you if you have done it right you will turn up fabric 2 from other side and the seam will be in the middle Step 4, now if you are done sewing cup pieces you will do the strap the same way put fabrics back to back again like before you turned up the fabric1 and 2 for strap place wrong side of fabric 1 strap to wrong side of fabric 2 strap like a burrito pin Step 5, sew a 3/16 inch seam that is a little inside of 1/4 inch sew all the way around strap don't need to back stitch this is just to hold them together clip threads Step 6, from inside the book pages, so to speak, place right side of strap to right side of cup fabric 1's together and fabric 2's together sew across seam turn out your seams for strap and center of cup are all inside cup Step 7, very important check to make sure there are no puckers now turn it inside out again and grade your seams Step 8 sew next to center seam to anchor fabrics on each side of seam if your cup has more than two pieces you can continue sewing by following the step 1 through step 8 PAT YOUR SELF ON THE BACK continue sewing bra as if it was one fabric or you can even sew the band as reversible as well by sewing band with 2 different fabrics also If you sew like me you have a fabric for the front with no stretch and a back fabric with stretch Step 1, sandwich back band fabric inside front band fabrics pin seam sew and grade, I use powernet so it does not really have a right side so make sure you cut a right side and left side from the same side of the fabric if there is a slight color difference or use 2 fabrics 1 for inside 1 for outside with stretch and good recovery Step 2, with straight stitch sew around front at cup seam to help reinforce stitch line sew bottom of front Step 3, pin elastic to bottom edge on out side of fabric 1 with plush side up Step 4, with small zigzag stitch sew with stretch in the back very little stretch in the front Step 5, turn elastic to under side sew with 3 step zigzag Now on to the cups with right side of right cup match placement for right side of bridge in center bottom pin sew cup in matching left cup placement pin left in sew seam make sure there are no puckers Step 6, sew in channeling sewing down over elastic. Step 7 sew top elastic using either fold over elastic or regular elastic just like before Step 8 sew on strap elastic laced threw sliders and rings sew on hooks and loops your bra is done...
Love the tip about using spray adhesive on the hook and eyes before sewing. I used to struggle trying to pin them, but now it’s so easy and they look so professional. I also used the spray adhesive to adhere the fabric to the lining before I cut out the pattern pieces. Very helpful video. Thank you...
I was looking for a "regular" bra pattern (I have a pattern that's for a more sports bra variety bra) and found this pattern. Going down through the rabbit hole, I saw you had this video. I'm actually thrilled to find this video. I'm a confident... intermediate-level? Sewist? Maybe still beginner. But a bra like this is pretty intimidating to me. I appreciate you showing some of the more intimidating parts of the pattern and sharing the alternate instruction for the cup! Thank you for creating this pattern for a beautiful bra (and panties!) and for this supplementary video!
I have come up with a one step cup and channel sew in all at the same time. instead of sewing the cup to the bridge and then sew the channel to the seam I just sew it all at once and my way works most of the time.
there is a bra sewer from Norway or Germany named Svetlana Kob that shes amazing bras however it it not in English but if you watch other videos anyways she is really hands on it most of her videos
These companies always leave out curvy women. I'm a 34 I bra size. I suggest you learn all you can about fitting. Get all the fitting books you can find off of Amazon and make your own patterns.
actually if you know how to grade a regular pattern yes you can but you may have to learn how a bra goes together first or you can try the Maya bra pattern it's free and relatively easy and she has most of the steps worked out as a written tutorial
These comments are super negative, I think this is a great video! Very good to explain all the new terms about bra making I didn't understand yet!

She teaches and charges for classes in her studio. I can completely understand why she isn't doing a free step by step.

Very helpful tutorial. Thank you for sharing. The adhesive technique is especially helpful
Where do you get the underwire? I’m busty and by busty I make DD or even DDD look like they need training bras

Hi, can the dd be upgraded to a F cup? thanks

A nice group of tips to go along with her pattern, and I got the craftsy class on bra making to learn even more since I am new to bra making.
Can I grade this pattern up? I am larger than a DD.

If I wanted to use this pattern as a swimsuit top. What changes should I make ?
Where did you get your mannikins from!?!
just purchased this pattern from Joann's wish me luck...
Lynn Hosinski did you ever make it?
The vid would be great if it was a step by step tutorial for a beginner like me!
I agree I am a beginner too and would love to be able to follow along with a more up close view of the individual steps.
+Thyra van Asperen hi
me too
This really isn’t a beginner friendly pattern tho..
Splendid tutorial for lingerie
Where can I get the lace?
This was the most confusing video I ever watched
Thank you
Hello
What SA did you use for the cups?
I didnt expect this I was not impressed
Great video. Just for it to be a bit clearer when working with such light fabrics. Turning the exposure down a bit would be great!
I LOVE THIS, I AM A SIZE 46 C CUP, BECAUSE I'M SO HEAVY UP THERE UNDER WIRE DOE NOT DO ME JUSTICE. IS THERE A WAY YOU CAN HELP ME WITH THIS
You need a couple layers of supportive non stretch fabrics and underwire in the correct size and shape.
Apu ai Gola banaila ki babe

Is this really her voice?
The Sound is of Poor Quality. Too tinny. Use a microphone?
Wow, extremely disappointed in this video! 😔
Mz.Choize H. She's has zero personality.
1:33 minutes too much talk!!

The bra should be available in 36H cup size
