As an Aussie living in the US I really, really, really, enjoy that patients go into the doctor's office/exam room instead of sitting in an examination room waiting, waiting and waiting for the doctor to appear. The first time I went to the doctor in the US the culture shock was huge of being shown into an examination room to have my vitals taken by a medical assistant and then left to wait for at least a good 30 minutes for the doctor to appear. Even 18 years later I still miss and long for going to the doctor's office/exam room to spend my doctor's visit only with my doctor.
I agree but I can imagine in the UK, the healthcare system is overwhelmed so that must mean that waiting rooms are always full and the wait there is long. I always hear the doctors apologizing for the patients long wait. So it’s not sunshine and rainbows there, in fact it’s probably better here.
I too have had anemia and have had off and on for years. But in my 70+ years now. And at the first sign of being tired go to the doctors and they routinely check it with other blood work every three months.
Very interesting show. We all learn something and the doctors are fabulous and very kind, also enjoy the receptionists. Also , super hearing the updates. Full marks from me in Toronto Canada
In regards to the Doctor that did acupuncture, the story he told about forgetting a patient in the exam room...that's my fear at the doctor's office because here in the USA, the nurse calls you, weighs you, takes your blood pressure and does a wellness question set, then they leave....and sometimes I've waited in the exam room waiting for the actual doctor...often up to 45 minutes, and I sit there thinking should I say something at front desk, did they forget I was in the room, how much longer should I give up waiting....by the time I think every waiting thought, the doctor strolls in with no acknowledgement that I've been sitting in the office for 45 minutes and that's after I've sat in the general waiting room for 30+ minutes...after my appointment should have been, even though I always show up 20 minutes early, just in case the front desk needs me to fill out some paperwork.
Yet if we are even 5 minutes late they won’t see ya!! I hate how they don’t see you for at least an hour after your appointment time, even though I make sure I schedule to be the first patient of the day.
I once took 6 kids into the exam room for an appointment. We sat for an hour, imagine trying to entertain 6 small children in a small room in which they aren't allowed to touch anything. I finally gave up, left and called the CO's office in a froth to complain. The next day we went back and were seen promptly. Military medicine at its finest.
Wow! None of the US doctors do acupuncture. Just a few specially trained anesthesiologists perform acupuncture that I am aware of. Thanks for sharing all this information on this show!
For me, it’s Pull’n Peel Twizzlers. Seriously,I am 65 yrs old and I am like a little kid twisting, braiding, tying knots with that stuff. Lol It’s addicting!
Oh man- I love those SO much- I miss chocolate covered raisins SSSOOOO much!!!!!! It's WICKED BAD IDEA for me! Even a couple tablespoons is BAAADDD idea !!!
I love that they dont use the f.ng pain scale. In the US, the sun rises and sets on pain scale and it infutiates me. I cant move or walk, I am in pain, awful pain, dammit. Docs here are too consumed with computer and numbers, the poor pt gets ignored. Sinful and neglectful.
I left my last doctor because she would always lecture me about weight loss, yet she was fatter than me. I don't respond well being lectured. I love my new doctor, he's a healthy weight, and has never lectured me, he is always positive about any weight loss even if it's only 1 pound. I've lost over 14 stone (14 stone = 98 pounds for any US citizen reading this). I respond way better with positive feedback and encouragement. If I get lectured, my inner teen wants to rebel....lol.

Same as a German living in the Us.
Everything in the US is impersonal, only money is important.

I like how they update how the patients are doing at the end of the show . Great show .👍👍👍
Me too
Not sure why it bothers me but the mother of the 43 year old new mom sure did take the babies care over!
She was just taking over so the doctor could talk to the new mum.
Holy cow Marjorie is 91???!!!!
She looks great!!!
I thought that she was in her 70s, at least.
And she's Hoovering...
Anemia is very frustrating, and extremely difficult to deal with.
I too have had anemia and have had off and on for years. But in my 70+ years now. And at the first sign of being tired go to the doctors and they routinely check it with other blood work every three months.
I wish American Dr's 🤞 were so nice and just so pleasant and kind..❤😊

He is a gifted doctor.
I love this show.
Well there's my goal, to be doing for myself, including mowing the lawn, until I'm 90.
Oh those pesky chocolate covered peanuts! I can't stay away from them! 😍

I know it's hard. It all tastes so good. But I think the best advice is "Don't buy it or have it in the house".
Overactive bladder is a common thing, believe me!
That lady definitely didn't look 91 I thought she was in her sixties looking good.
That baby is so cute
I have over active bladder.😢 Truly annoying😢...
I'm curious, what is the chain for on the guy's face who's getting acupuncture?
Looks like a necklace that he pulled up rather than taking it off...
It looks like the chain holds his eyeglasses.
@@nancy-katharynmcgraw2669 agreed- it's some sort of necklace he just pulled up so it wouldn't b in the way
He moved it because of acupuncture.
That baby is so adorable. ❤
If someone tries to give me a memory test, i will make sure they remember what i do next!

I cant believe acupuncture is covered
Their national medicine includes acupuncture? God, where in a cave in the US.
Mercy shave your eyebrows and put a straight line, that's a shame, such a lovely lady for 91.
Brown sugar in the bottle for hard poo, for a few days
Syrup, just a tad
@@oneseeker2 not for very young kiddos- contains botulism!
Honey contains botulism not syrup.
Says the overweight doctor 🙄
Who probably doesn’t have diabetes
Healthcare workers are NOTORIOUS for making terrible patients
