YO i dont know if you still reply. But i have the issue that after doing the second option with the vital synth. it just plays both the sounds wiothout actually any vocoding going on. Though the sounds i hear are altered slightly like there is filtering. This is after the pre fader step.
The first part without the synth works just fine, as in just using the vocoder plugin as the synth itself

Well thanks a great deal. Needed a excellent refreshner, and I think I've learn certain thing about the pre and the post. Haven't work much with that type of set up. So following your advice, here what I came up with. I'm using Cubase Pro 12. Select any audio, mine was violin orchestra, insert Vocoder in that track, open a new group, in cubase, that I you make your aux for your send from your audio file. Open a new empty audio track, that will be use as a recording track. In the recording track instead of it's default input, you get it from your Group (Aux track) Created a midi track, where i put the midi alike of the audio file of the violins. Now the output of that midi tracks, is change, so it goes to the violin track, which has Vocoder as Insert. Now on the audio recording track, you make it on record mode. Record, then voila, you've got a brand new audio file of the violons and the vocoder effect...Now, let's try with the Vital synth...)))

Hey Adrian I've been trying to edit the same clips from my gopro for months and keep running into issues. It is so so frusturating.
