2022: Currently TAL Vocoder must be set up on a Stereo track! If you look on the download page, it states this clearly. Was sitting for 15 minutes trying to figure out why it wasn't showing up, and then it popped right up when I switched to a stereo instrument track.
This seems so complicated. Three tracks for one vocoder. I used to do it in Ableton with just two. Also, if I create a mono-instrument track. Most of my synth plugins don't show up. Only my monophonic synth VST showed up. You can't get a good result on vocoder with a monosynth.
It appears the manual is pertaining to VST (Virtual Studio Technology). I can't seen to install it properly, as I don't know where to place the dll file in the Protools folders. I only but in the .aaxplugin file. I was thinking on giving up on this, but I see the upload date is new. Hopefully this isn't a software issue.
Per the user manual: Installation Windows The plug-in is SSE optimized. At least a Pentium II or higher is required or an AMD equivalent. All hosts that are compatible with VST 2.4 plug-ins are supported. Copy the TAL-Vocoder.dll file into the VST plug-in folder of your host. A rescan of the plug-in directory or a restart of the VST host application may be required. OS X The plug-in is a Universal Binary and works for Intel and PPC Computers and needs a VST 2.4 compatible host. VST Copy the TAL-Vocoder-2.vst file into the VST plug-in folder of your host or into the OS X directory: “/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/”. :/ My Tal Vocoder doesn't have the configuration boxes at the top so I can't set up the inputs.... What do you have to do to get that? What's a bus track? Ableton only has midi ones and audio ones... And you can't set them to mono... I don't think? This tutorial was worthless to me.... :(
I am not familiar on how to set it up in Ableton. A bus is essentially a pass through track. It does not record audio in it, but allows for signal processing (EQ, Compression, etc). I believe in Ableton they are just called AUX tracks.
Yes. You should be able to use your guitar as both the carrier or the modulator. If you use it as the carrier, then you will have no sound unless you are playing the guitar while singing (or talking)
It's really not a very good vocoder at all. Using this effect demands a really high end piece of kit. The microkorg is excellent and hands on, plus for $250 you get a very creative synth. The only decent plugin version IMO is the UAD one,

Same thing here
Sounds really good,
and because of your specific approach,
the Tal-sound is kinda upgraded !
.
Thanx so much.
Thumbs up from me :-)
The bus option is grayed out when i try to add the bus to the key input. Do you know why this is happening?
I really enjoyed the final!

Thanks this is great.
Side chaining?

Is there any way I can play my guitar using the Vocoder? I downloaded it just having issues getting the signal through the bus.

@@rogerio.naressi I was able to get it too work! Thank you so much so awesome!
I do like it...
is it possible to use it live with midi?
I don't see why not! Just make sure the buffer size as low. Preferably 128 samples or lower.
I don't know why but it doesn't work in my case. i made the same things but not. silence
It doesn't work in anyone's case. It's a bulshit video
Does it work with Pro tools first as well?
I am not sure, but I don't think so. Pro Tools first is not very practical in my opinion.
@@rogerio.naressi Yet your usung pro tools in the video.
Noice
