Thats extra trees, it adds the wood worker that allows you to combine wood and create cool combinations of wood. Great for decorating!
Thaumium swords are much more expensive (and harder to automate). Perhaps I'll add Thaumium Picks though at some point:)
As somebody already pointed out, you can only get weapon enchantments from this system.
If you use books instead of swords, you can combine low lv enchants in the auto-anvil and then export lv.V enchants to bibliocraft shelfs.
Do as Soaryn said: put the Iron pipe back as it was, and block the red exit of the diamond pipe with cobble or something so nothing can go through, so that when the un-enchanted sword doubles back, it gets sent through the green exit to the chest! :)
Yes it is. You can use an anvil OR a crafting table. The anvil preserves enchants but the table does not. With an unenchanted sword, the crafting table method would work just fine.
just delivered my books to school, now i have vacation... time to rewatch all the best DireSeasons!
Dire, you can autocombine low-durability swords to get back to full. teach various sword damage values to some patterns and have the system take the various damaged swords and attempt to make full durability ones. it works off of the same princple of putting the swords together in your inventory's crafting interface.
He is well known in the modding community for his spotlights, because they are extensive and thorough. Plus he has a tonne of modder-friends
No matter how many of these videos I watch I always see something new. Frickin' drinking liquid experience through a straw from off the ground?! Rorax couldn't have put it better.
Nice episode. I like the fact you are using new stuff and making new builds. Thats what I want to see Dire. Can't wait to see the next NEW build!
The shift-click on question mark functionality works on the pattern encoder Dire. So you don't need to bring the mats to it any more.
Gold has the highest enchantability of all the vanilla metals. Dire, being filthy rich, can make such swords easily.
Pretty sure you can put a tool together with a book in the auto-enchanter to restrict the enchantments the book will get to those of the tool. It probably takes into account the enchantability of it as well. No need to go extra steps.
Even with the enchantability addition, I wonder if all these people suggesting using stone for enchanting might not be right... Though I think wood would be better. He has an infinite supply of mob essence, and MFR has an automatic anvil. By combining the books that he gets, he could save a great deal of gold. The only real drawback is a lower amount of total books (which is solved by increasing the mob farm, and running it constantly) and fewer silk touch books. (high threshold for them)
I love how he lays down two cobblestone and is like "that's a plan"
One thing that could reduce the cost of them(and others) is that you can do the first version of repair that just combines 2 tools and would strip enchants which won't matter since you did that already.
It's easier and quicker to breed bees with short lifespan, because you get more generations in a shorter time.
But it's more efficient to have a long lifespan when using them for resources, because they will spend less time in pipes and stuff.
If you call a pile of mods in a dropbox folder a mod pack, then yes it's a mod pack.
If you're wondering, they do not launch Forgecraft through the FTB launcher. It's a pile of mods in a dropbox folder that they put in MultiMC.
you can simply move the diamond pipe directly on top of the disenchanter and tell it to let nothing go through the gold pipes ^.^
gold has a much higher chance of getting a high level enchant for the same amount of xp/mob essence if you've ever enchanted leather armor you notice you don't get much for you xp vs. diamond or the top enchantment tier gold. that's why you can make gold tools is b/c it has a much higher enchant chance and this is a vanilla mechanic
You can also cook it in the alloy furnace to get the metals back(depends on the durability).
Dire Get an Enderman Farm they drop alot more of the mob essence than the animal farm does. You only need 1 Enderman, a Safari Net, some Mob grinders and an auto spawner. Plus you get to see your enemies die.
"Is he drinking, direwolf?"
"Is he drinking direwolf?"
Punctuation, it's important!
"Why are there mushrooms in my basement?"
Because you are such a fungi to be with.
Dire for the mob grinder you can put some item collectors as the floor and place stone/cobble pipes to a chest and then to your ne network, or just one collector and a bunch of belts into a chest...
Correct, combining two weapons gives About 10% more durability more then just the two pieces alone had. So technically you are gaining a bit of gold in theory though you are still loosing all around. But over time you will be gaining multiple ingots worth the longer the process is run.
And here we see the Direwolf grasshopper in it's natural habitat...
It is not wasteful on gold for the reason that if you have two low durability swords and stick them together in a crafting grid, it combines them to a sword with greater durability, therefore actually being more efficient seeing as you wouldn't use those swords regardless.
FINALLY! Dire uses a level emitter. He should use one for the genepool too
after the wooden pipe extracting from the disenchanter, but before the diamond pipe, you could put a insertion pipe witch goes into both the diamond pipe and a barrel with non enchanced swords, should work
Dire, the only issue I see with only enchanting golden swords is you'll only get weapon enchants. You may want to cycle through some golden armour and tools as well to get a bit of everything.
Dire, dont forget to make a reed farm, to keep producing books, since you already got the leather.Thumps up so he can see!
A Zombie Pigman grinder is a good source of gold swords. (Especially if you don't have RP2 alloy furnaces to smelt them down into ingots.)
You don't need to use an anvil to repair. you can place damaged items of the same type in a crafting grid to fix. Enchanted items will lose the enchantment if you do this but it would be a way for you to save some gold.
Simple answer for Dire's damaged gold sword problem: Use an iron pipe to prevent it from returning to the enchanter.
Hey Dire, I don't know if it was changed in your version of MFR, but the Auto-enchanter will apply multiple enchants to a book, just like any item. This also allows it to host enchants that wouldn't normally be together on the same item. (Like, say, Fortune and Feather-falling, or something)
Not only that, but (at least previously, I think in 1.4.7) you could put in already enchanted stuff and get a second set of enchants on it, including duplicates. Yay Sharpness I Sharpness I Knockback I Sharpness I sword!
no, its just that gold has a better chance for good enchants than any other material except maybe thamium, it still only has a max of sharpness IV from a random enchant.
Wow. Nice way to sum up the very difficult time she's having with updating Redpower 2. Direwolf has even talked about it now and then. She has to basically re-write the mod, and she has other more serious things to focus on. There's a reason she was in a previous server play season, but not in the current ones.
Dire, if you want to farm mob essence then you probably would like to use mfr's spawner to spawn slimes and then gring them. Slimes give much more essence than is required to spawn one due to their multiplicity on dying.
By enchanting a wodden tool to a low level, you will not get Silk Touch, Fortune, and other rare enchants. You will only get Efficency, Smite or Sharpness, that you will have to combine.
Dire you should pump out all the 3 durability swords back into the auto enchanter so you don't have to worry about only getting 1 enchant on the sword which would be a waste. This way you always get more than 1 enchant on each and every sword.
They don't have RedPower, so no alloy furnace, BUT he could use that auto-anvil to reforge them together. If you like, like this(though I imagine he already though to this).
Hey dire, you could have a crafty turtle to repair the swords inside the chest to recycle them and use the ME system to just pull up the fully repaired swords, and a wood pipe to pull up crafted swords from the ME system using a ME Interface! Just an idea =D
Dire you should take the golden swords and put them in a blulectric furnace when you're done to get the gold back so you don't need any more
Seeing stuff like this really makes me look forward to this new pack. I just hope elloram can get it together, I still would hate life without red power.
Alloy furnace is from RP, which is not yet in 1.5.2, which is what Forgecraft is using.
yes it is. They lose any enchants but they combine their durability with a little bit extra.
Next thing they should to add to the AE mod would be a wireless crafting terminal so people can access their crafting terminal from anywhere in or near their house or system. that way people don't have to run back and forth to the terminal to craft while doing a build.
Direwolf is the best youtuber ever. Keep up the good work man.
If you listened, gold has higher inchantablility (more enchants per enchantment table use), so he can strip more enchants to books. Cobble tools are shitty and cant be enchanted well :p
Dire if you use stone swords they have the same durability as a gold and are only made of cobble. Or you can use iron which can go through twice. Gold is the worst to use
mob XP might need to be tweaked...
for example, drinking mob essence at level 1-16 will yield 17 experience while drinking it at level 29 will give you 59 experience and drinking it at level 50 will give you 125 exp.
You lose out when you drain a level higher than 16 with the XP extractor.
Easy usage version: Exp extract when less than 17 to lose minimal exp (none) and exp drink when over 17 to gain maximum exp
Dire you can combine the damaged swords in a crafting table and get a higher durability sword and eventually get a "new" sword using it. Vanilla mechanic.
Soaryn: To my chat I Dire is recording, and to youtube chat I am streaming.
Dire: I agree.
one thing I personally think dire needs to do is make his AE autocrafter bigger with much more power. It will work a lot faster and he will not have to wait quite as long for his items to be made.
Good form of essence I've found is a spawner spawning slices gives more essence than it takes to spawn one
I think baby animals don't get killed by the grinder ... So you could work with 1 less chronotyper and a zomby serum could speed up the growth ...
@DireWolf20 you could always craft the completely unenchanted damaged swords together to repair them
If you have xeno's reliquary on the server, you can auto-repair the golden swords with the Touchstone of Midas, so you can keep using the swords, and dont have to make new ones. (:
Plus, combining two swords gives you a little extra durability (40%+40% gives a sowrd with more than 80%, I think...)
you could enchant books directly, or use a grinder in nether to kill pigmen and get the swords and gold nugets from them.
merge the two swords into one, in a crafting table NOT an anvil repair. you will lose one of the two dead swords, however you will gain in the end.
Each enchant striped i believe is 25% damaged so the three enchants will will a 25% sword, merge that with three other swords. That will give you one 100% sword to use again.
Its every 4 swords used you get one free
IMHO maybe store is a little too much, but transport could be nice. That would let you to unify all the pipeworks into clean AE network cables (*if* you can afford the energy bill... interesting new problems).
I remember him saying, and I may be wrong, but he said "I use so many mods, I wanted to try and keep some vanilla aspects to remind people I'm actually playing Minecraft"
Not entirely. Endermen and passive mobs too! Also villagers. Sharpness works on ALL things
Redpower isn't in that version of Forgecraft, something to do with it not being ready for that MC version - i think, however i might be wrong, but you're right, no redpower.
what you should do is go find some monster spawners and move them to your base via the portal gun, infinite mob essence
dire this are the different tools enchantability
wood 15
iron 14
stone 5
diamond 10
gold 22
you could use wood sword if you are running out of gold
Only water has that mechanic. No other liquids have it unless the mod author specifically codes it (BC Oil, all MFR liquids, and all TE liquids do not allow source duplication)
I love Dire's mini fails! :D
or a wireless reciever (that are hosted by acces points), or that can output power (ic2/buildcraft/etc) to power diffrent machines
repair works with thaumium tools and the sword along with the other thumcraft stuff
haha, nice. hey its like insider information on the awesome mods that are being worked on for minecraft. totally worth the time spent.
Lemon trees are so slow without intensive breeding. Papayas not only give more fruit juice, but they mature faster, too.
They have a lesser enchantability than gold swords
Enchantability = value that gets added to the level at which you're enchanting
So, the higher enchantability, the better enchants
When the mods are ready, 1.6.2 came out today and it will take at least 2 weeks for the majority of the mods to catch up. So don't expect it before august.
Dire! Next season, you should try to challenge yourself! Something along the lines of, I don't know, not using tanks to store liquids whatsoever? You decide!
you dont need gold to repair, only the tools, craft them together and they will turn into one tool with the durability of both. something like that.
Gold has the highest enchatability, so he's aiming to get the most enchants possible per mob essence bucket.
This is Great Series to Watch Everyday
You could just place an iron pipe to prevent anything from going back to the auto enchanter, then everything would default to the chest I think
gold has a much higher chance of getting a high enchantment (if you've ever tried enchanting something like leather you realize that you don't get your xp worth) this is actually a vanilla mechanic notch put in to justify the extremely low durability gold actually has a better chance of getting high enchants than diamond
Call me crazy, but I think this is the custom modpack for Forgecraft devel server. Which is something between Feed the Beast Direwolf20's and Feed the Beast Ultimate, but with all the cool new toys.
Mob Essence works like Lava, it doesn't create a source in the middle of two other sources.
No it is not a mod pack, it's a test server called Forgecraft, you can't actually play it because it's closed alpha/beta mods that are being tested (invite only server) :)
You should only get infinite water spring in his SMP server, the essence is using lava mechanics, some other liquids that's using water mechanics also won't really works as a infinite spring.
For the mob system the left over items you should Use a obsidian pipe to pick them up
If you enchant a diamond sword with 30lv, you'll should get about a IV/V and a II/III, golden sword will give about 2 IV/V and a II/III.
19:30 For a second there, my brain derped and I thought he was going to enchant a potato...
No it wouldn't since you can't do anything with the damage swords as it is(Other then using a auto repairer and waste gold).
So just combining the damaged gold ones (Vanilla repair mechanic) would be more efficient since you are using all the the wasted bi-product (AKA damaged swords)
Dire! Wood swords have a better enchantebility than gold swords!
@direwolf20 you can put two swords in a crafting table and get one sword with the 2 swords combined damage values
Dire you can combine to damaged swords into one sword equal to the durability of the original two.
It actually isn't on FTB. They have a shared dropbox folder with all the mods and they dump them into a MultiMC instance.
Personally since it is automated and you can combine books (unless I am horribly mistaken) wouldn't it be cheaper to use wooden swords and enchant like level 5 or something? Granted the enchants aren't as good, but it is automated and happens 24/7 you will still get plenty of good enchants. the process will also be faster at a lower level so you would have more chances to get the better enchants. My theory might be flawed, just a thought though..
Dire, use the disassembly table from twilight forest to break the damaged swords down then re craft them.
Best enchantability, meaning they have better chance to have more/better enchantments
I'm not 100% sure what you mean. They aren't using the DW20 pack, which is minecraft version 1.4.7. They are using a private pack with closed beta mods (mods not open to the public) that I believe is minecraft 1.5.2. Hope this helped :)
yeah, i know that much, but if you were following the video, Dire is looking for a way to fix his swords "once" he has removed the enchants...
