As a gooner of nearly 50yrs, I gotta say, I love this stuff Alex does, I could listen to him rattle on about us all day
@Farmer-geddon4051
I just find his analysis interesting...I don't need anyone else to give me false hope, I can do that all by myself
30 years as a gunner, never liked anyone giving analysis about Arsenal other than the Invincible era and this season.
What a buy kiwior is turning out to be. Once we have timber and tomi back our depth in defense is going to be insane. Saliba, Gabriel, white, kiwi, zinny, tomi, timber. That’s 7 players who can be relied upon to start or come in off the bench, all interchangeable as well aside from zinny. None of them are even approaching 30 years old yet. If we get a decent striker or wide forward in the summer this team will be even stronger. Gone are the wenger days of our best prospects being sold to bigger clubs as soon as they show promise. Man I just love our club, our manager, and where we are headed. Exciting times, COYG ❤
We should sell Zinchenko.
The 6 defenders is enough IMO
@@FR33_PALESTIN33 Nah move the lad up
@@theshiftybloke4672it's crazy to me though, we need a natural LCM, but we want to sell the only natural one we have because he's been asked to play LB, that's why most of us aren't coaches
@jacobalexander4167
Zinchenko has an attitude that isn't conducive with our growing youngsters. He is too full of himself and hasn't produced the goods this season. We should be looking to acquire a midfield like Frenkie De Jong, Tchouameni, Onana, Kimmich, Zubimendi or Paulinha
@@jacobalexander4167 yeah guess they know better - I'd prefer him in a more advanced role behind a 3 with Tomi but I guess I know nothing lol
Guyz we raised the foogen essstandards again against Porto it really feels like we have built the confidence to win it all this year let’s make this dream a reality
Win it all? Oh my days you are getting way ahead of yourselves dude 😅 you struggled against porto. You’re not good enough to win either
Also no one wants arsenal to win anything
@@ThisAndThat765what are you doing here then? Go back to crying and hate watching over 3 hours of Arsenal 😂
Win it all? Why not win more than that? Aim to the moon, dude!
@@ThisAndThat765we’ve already won your head.
Every time our opponents kick a long ball I feel relieved. Because I know our men will 90% of the time get their heads.
Just want to say how happy I am for content like this. Years ago, you just had the broadcast on TV and some after match stuff which I like. But channels like this have on the one hand great quality and on the other it is still like a little community where you have the feeling you're in a pub with friends talking about football. So big thanks to all creator 🙏. God bless you! ;-)
I was confused how Saliba and Big G created such a strong partnership. Makes so much sense now knowing he speaks french as well.
So glad you didn't call him Top G.
Tomi and Partey getting back to full fitness for us in this part of the season rather than the last 2 season where we have them up until this point is something people are over looking .. they forget the quality and importance of these too we are looking to be well equipped for this final push!
kiwior, gabriel, saliba, white. if i see those 4 names in the team sheet, i know we will be ok every week
We didnt play well Tuesday but the mental strength we displayed was something we couldnt last season.
This is down to the summer signings, Mikel, the coaching staff and experience gained.
Your way of presentation is just beautiful to watch. Kudos
Agreed, I love listening to him, it's dead nerdy, u can't love AFC enough, right up my street 🫡
"And without Cedric, for the most part" LMAO 😂! Touché.
As tempting as it is to concentrate on the league over the UCL or vice versa, I think the team is fully committed to just one thing - winning the next match. Doesn't matter if it's against Brighton or Bayern, it's about winning.
It goes without saying that the effort the players put out on the pitch comes from trust in the coaches and manager. They are chasing back and cutting off lanes because they trust what's drawn on the board or iPad. They trust the training drills and practices. That is the true strength of this team - no one is shirking their duty in search for hero ball.
All seems pretty accurate. I am sure you, like I do, remember the palpable sense of unease in the way that we defended from about 2009 onwards. The crowd felt the players unease, and in turn The Emirates turned into a swirling vortex of stress and anxiety. Finally, Mikel has brought a sense of security and coordination back to our defending, and with the age profile of the guys we have that shouldn't change for awhile. I now just want us to draw Real Madrid in the QF's of the Chamoions League. My minimum expectations for Europe this year was to qualify from our group. We won it. Winning a Round of 16 tie and getting to the QF's was at the upper end of my expectations. Now I would like to see our young team, free of pressure now, go up against GIANTS and see where we are with our game.
Kind of like the Ajax team that played with freedom to the SF and beat Madrid!
Why would you want us to get Madrid that team is highly unpredictable. I'd rather us get Dortmund, Athletico or Barcelona we would eat them alive.
@@TDOTSE1tbh, i think all the giants of europe are not in their best form this season. Bayern, barca, psg, real madrid, maybe city could be one level above others. Let see if arsenal face any of them.
@@ayell91 yep based on current form Madrid do seem like a team we would eat alive but they can turn up which is a scary prospect I mean they were lucky to not lose to Leipzig. I want us to get to at least the semi finals
@@TDOTSE1don’t you feel winning against Madrid or any other giants would have boosted our mentality in the other CL games? If we fought dortmund or atletico Madrid and lost in the QF, that’s quite saddening as we haven’t got the chance to fight against the giants. If we draw lesser teams and win the champions league people would have said we got an easier run. I would prefer to win in glory just like winning the PL this year which is the hardest since don’t know when. We are not in Wenger era, we don’t need easy opponent
Our press and compacted moving block in every part of the pitch, how we are likely to get second balls, the interchanges our attacking players frequently do with a highline midfield presence we have does show on our shots on target tally or our XG. The improvements in the mentality of the squad give our players the ability to support every movement and have the fluently to create triangles and square box nullifying the opponent’s touches hight the pitch. Arteta made the players to understand each other automatic positioning even without looking for the run one is make. We are blessed to see the team play some of the best football with the youngest squad in the league ❤❤❤❤
been waiting for this knock since 9 days. Finally its here
So so good! Thank you for the video!!
Absolutely fantastic. So important that situational structures are discussed because you have all of the details on Arsenal’s 4-4-2 high press. Congrats on a great video and the knowledge on display is incredible 🔥
Let’s fogging go guys. No Rob Holding!
I walked past you outside East entrance just before the game. You were looking at your phone and nearly bumped into me. When you eye-pologised, I thought "I'm sure, I know him" assuming you sat near me.
No no, it's the guy whose channel I watch every week. 😂
Alex, this one deserves an award! Tops!
Thank you mate
Thanks per usual! amazing analysis!no nurd, just a very clever chap! looking good, up the arsenal!
Thanks for your hard work. Great content for coaching!

always like your video before even watching them, your mixture of wittiness humour and stats is genius, your like the aljazeera 'inside story" program
never really dived into the deeper parts of our game although ive always known they were there, I usually never comment on anything but as a fellow nerd this is actually one of the sickest videos ive ever seen regarding the tactical side of our game, aswell as one of the best football related videos in general, especially at 7:47 and 8:53. Ty to youtube for putting this on my reccomended and ty to you for making this masterpiece 🙏🙏
I made a call at the start of the season that Kiwior could surprise us most this season. It's starting to turn our that way. He has been so consistent and we struggled more when he came off last night. I'm loving our back four and see no place for Timber right now.
Timber can play as left wing if Martinelli still unavailable
@@akongjuingchannel7471 Instead of Trossard? Unlikely but he's maybe back up. But so is Nelson, Jesus and ESR for that position.
@c0mbat15 Not that I doubt the ability of Trossard as LW. Infact he could play anywhere in the front 4. Its only that because of the clinicality of his shooting , can operate in tight space, full of tricks...etc, he is more suitable to playing around the box(inside or outside)...To be exact behind the striker.
The only player in my opinion with the directness, speed, crossing or shooting power than can replicate Martinelli is Timber. Worth trying...the benefit would be; not missing Martinelli so much and more multi purpose players.
Love it love it love it. More please!
I see tdk i click ❤
was waiting on your next drop like my life depends on it......simply the best
I think the UCL will be out of our reach this season, though I can definitely hope. Arteta seems to do much better when playing teams the 2nd time around. The first time he encounters a team, sometimes it seems like our strategy for that game doesnt seem to work out (think Sean Dyche's Everton late last season, Postecoglou's Tottenham early this season, Klopps Liverpool in the 2 games before our home PL game, Man City late last season when they destroyed our man2man press). But once Arteta's understands their system, he seems to be able to make the small tweaks to our game that beats them after. Basically, he gets better over time.
The UCL is him encountering alot of teams we've not played against before under Arteta. Its very possible some of them will figure us out before we do them. Porto already kinda did it when employing their midblock. But with more experience, Arteta will likely get better at figuring them out over time. Who knows, the 2 leg structure of the UCL may be enough.
That's a good observation re: Arteta and 2nd games. As he figures out how to coach and develop his players, he's developing himself in learning how to manage at a whole new level. I see him bringing Arsenal to being dominant for some time.
Another great video bro
If you always watch our matches and you will know that his analysis are always on point. This guy is nerd and actually knows football.
I am not sure about if Arsenal has the bench to sustain both the premier league and Championship league challenge. The Achilles heel of Arsenal is insufficient top class wingers. When either Martinelli or Saka is out, it seems like Arsenal attack is weaken substantially (see Brentford and Porto when Martinelli was not available). For Premier league, Arsenal has the toughest schedule out of the 3 and there is no more room for slip up. I guess at least 8 to 10 wins out of the remaining fixtures. The crucial period will be April as there are 6 games Arsenal needs to get through (4 league games including one away fixture against Man City and 2 tough CL games). Unless Arsenal pass through this period say getting through CL quarter finals, winning against Man city and do not draw or loss more than one of the April league fixture, then Arsenal can start talking about achieving the double.
If I were Arteta, I probably would prioritize the league rather than the Championship league.
😆😆😆😆😆
We can talk about the double after the etihad game, confident but we need to back t😊he hype
You are raisin the foogen esstandards on your analysis. You're greatly increasing my enjoyment of the game
You can say we are thinking of our defence whenever we attack and we also think of our attack when defending
Good analysis 👍
I'm glad you mentioned Saka and Martinelli's defensive contributions! Some players *cough* Antony *cough* justify their place in a team solely because of their "ability to track back", but Saka and Martinelli can do both the offensive and defensive work. They are rarely credited with the latter.
That intro was beautiful, i cracked out. That was so unexpected 🤣
Part 3 being the in possession to out of possession transition. I leave it to the reader to decide what part 4 will be
Good analysis. I agree.
We're not winning the PL.
We still have to go to Man City, Spurs, and MU.
And so?
@@fredorido2520 It's unlikely for us to get more points than both Liverpool and Man City.
Sure, we could win it. But, it's very unlikely.
Spurs and Man U? Liverpool also has to go to Man U and Villa, City has to go to Spurs. I understand our run is harder but to just say we're not going to win it is just being a doomer
@@Belligol. I meant that it's very unlikely. We obviously have a chanse and i am very hopeful :)
I do give us a bigger chance in the CL though.
It seems you are still living in the past.. this team is growing..we have never won 8 straight games under Mikel but we have done it with ease ... We are scoring more goals from different players..We have matured players now.. They have learnt from last season@@hariskurbardovikj161
I am just happy, arsenal are in this conversation at all. Being a fan of arsenal over a decade, this is the first time we are taken seriously. I hope this continues.
Smart haircut! Haircuts were the talk during interviews with Sake, Rice and Micha Richard’s on CBS! Was a funny interview
You jinxed it man. You jinxed it for your content.
"Saliba is a big, strong boy"
This had me HOWLING🤣
I love it when a true fan(s) talking abous us using the term we rather than them..simply love the sense of belonging, sense of family.

We.Are.The.Arsenal.
This leaving the ball to the weak is a volleyball strategy used in football 😮
The whole video I was thinking what is jewels and read that Dooel 😂 in the last minute slide.
There are times during the last few years of Wenger where I thought our method of getting the ball back was to concede a goal. We were so soft. Love the current Arsenal.
Lets gooo 🎉🎉
Attackers are told to curve their runs when pressing to cover the passing line. That's why every club does it, even at semi professional level. You're right about targeting players but that will be done by the shape.
Would love some analysis on the Porto game. How they evaded us pressing is was unbelievable. I believe they forced us to only commit 2 to the press , they went high and afforded their CBs and keeper time on the ball taking off pressure. Was so impressed. Or was it a case of Arsenal backing off bit?
Ah dear lord, I would love us to win the UCL. Never won it for a club our size, its criminal. But then I look at the other teams left and all I can do is sigh. If giving up the league was guaranteed to give us the UCL, then so be it.
idk man, anything could happen. Inter getting knocked out was a shocked. Give us a good run of games, a little lucky on the draws, maximize our home advantage - we COULD go all the way.
Super unlikely though. However, no matter what, the team is improving and evolving. As long as we can keep getting better, winning the UCL in the next few years won't be a dream anymore
@@coolerdude42 It could happen (and I want it to) but we are still not quite there and don't think it will be this year. This is not a flash in the pan, though. We are watching a great manager in the making build a team that people will talk about for years to come right before our eyes. We will win the UCL under Arteta eventually.
Personally I think champions league is a bit ambitious even at this stage. Think we should just focus on trying to win the league now and not have a repeat of last season. Then onto the next season when we can consider trying to win different comps. I will say this though if we did win both champions league and the premier league this year, we would have done the treble including the community shield.
Not everyone is nerdy like us about Super Mikel's tactics but my god how does this man only have 59k followers??!?
anyone noticed the difference in intensity and quality of pressing with and without Martinelli on the pitch?
I actually thought Porto did a pretty good job of playing through our press at the Emirates, certainly compared to other teams we've played in recent weeks. I was trying to work out how they were doing it, but the usual Odegaard/Havertz leading the press from the front didn't seem to work as effectively as it has done recently and they were often able to find the spare man in midfield. Luckily they weren't that interested in committing too many bodies forward. One of the reasons why I don't fancy Atleti in the next round - they will employ similar tactics, but arguably with better players.
I think its also underrated how much the press has improved with Odegaard + Jesus up top. Remember how Arsenal looked out of posession in 2020.
That intro was simply perfect! The duality of the Arsenal fanbase is something that needs to be studied, lol
Alex and Adam Clery are really worth watching. Their analysis of Arsenal’s play is exceptional. Oh yes, I should have also mentioned Shaka Hislop, Steve Nicol and Craig Burley…geez, how could I have missed them out?
The gunners forever this James w from Uganda
Keep doing your thing, BOSS!!
We always defend in a 4-4-2, but fans call it 4-3-3 because it's shown in the graphic pre-game.
ARSENAL IS READY... FOR EVERY TEAMS... THEY ARE READY TO WIN IT ALL...WE SUPPORT ARTETA AND THE CLUB AND THE PLAYERS...UP GUNNERS FROM YANKORI FAMILY NIGERIA 🇳🇬🇳🇬
It all caved in last year when Willy Saliba got a bad back. It will happen, tall dude, long spine, no surprises there. But how vital they are. Entire team can go forward when Saliba and Gabby Magalhaes have them covered. If they stay fit we’re going to win stuff this year.
I see a lot of Marcelo Bielsa influence on Arteta. He is adjusting the pressing and out of the ball structure based on the opposition just like Bielsa.
Saliba and Gabriel are the new Walsh and Ambrose.
The good thing is Arteta changed the goal keeper and Gabriel had less mistakes this season..he looks better than Saliba this season
Let’s relax…..please let’s calm down!
based on the general odds available, the bookies think we have about a 4% chance of doing the double
Kiwior was a monster defensively before he was taken off for Zinny as well last night.
Depending if we will not get injuries then yes we can win it all ❤Arsenal ❤
Alex did you watch the match at the stadium? Or you didn't bother to take the 3hr one-way journey?
❤❤❤❤
absolutely loved the sarcasm win the PL or get him sacked HAhaha
If Arteta can make subs earlier then we would win more games he needs to improve on that because Jesus should have played more minutes he was more suited to the game than Haverts in false 9 the game didn't need to go to pens honestly Haverts is good don't get me wrong Haverts was good when he was playing alongside Odegard later.
Unnecessary Cedric dig 😂😂
Alex explaining stats are good to Different Knock viewers is peak humor.
God, please no. Let's not jinx the team. Please no. One game at a time.
Jinx or not, bottler is still a bottler. No title end of the season.

Missed the Crufts run! WTF! Need to get up to speed with this. Unfortunately though, I’m sure Michael ‘betting guru’ Owen isn’t already over this. 😂
There's also something more basic with Arteta and defending. He expects every player to be very active in defending. ESR didn't track back for Willock's goal. We haven't seen ESR since. I reckon ESR gets sold this summer.
Re watch that goal back it was Nelson that lost dan burn who put in the cross for willock
@@ijpsolutions2483nah, it was esr, he lost track of willock and almost did the same thing against westham
@@ijpsolutions2483 point taken. Nelson isn't playing much either, eh?
But who was supposed to be with Willock? ESR. That's who. And who got a bollocking in the dressing room for not sticking with Willock and not being up to the fogging standards? ESR.
We should notice something with Arteta. He's fogging ruthless. If he sees a gain, no matter how marginal, that could be made by making a personnel change, he would make it. Ramsdale was OK for most of us last season. Arteta got Edu to offer Aaron a new contract and to protect his value to the club, and then mere weeks later signed his upgrade and benched Ramsdale.
ESR is in that category now.
DOOEL!!!!

brilliant tactical matchup, anyone disregarding porto are casual's, they're a very tidy & structured team, a formidable opponent, we just scraped past them but onwards & upwards.

We need luck
This is partly why a lazy retort such as "you only beat City by a deflection" or whatever, irks me so much. No. It was thousands of individual and collective actions, tactics, intensity and desire against one of the best teams ever assembled, throughout the entire game that allowed us to be in a position to win it.
For example reducing a team with an average of over 2, to under 0.4
Aaah , the irony of their use of the word deflection 😉
Now we have to try and beat them again...at their gaff 😬
Probably get them in QF's as well 😅
We are on squeaky bum time can Arsenal survive it?
Saliba?
