They use any world event as an excuse to do it. Electricity prices aren't controlled by world events. If you have solar, you're essentially getting free charging.
It’s not actually cheaper when you consider the tax credit. So still a $7500+ difference. Or about the same difference as ICE compact and midsize cars.

I am 66, been a mechanic my whole life, still am. I am getting sick and tired of oil changes, spark plugs, exhaust issues and fuel prices, I own a 2014 Equinox and a 2014 Escalade. Being semi retired the EV is a better choice, they say these can last a million miles, same as my Peterbilt tractor. Personally I want the Lyric.

Looks great for the high end version, will have to see what the lower priced models look like. While I can afford it, I'm asking myself, how big is the market for a non luxury vehicle that starts at 45K and tops out at 66K. While it's competitive with what's out there in EVs now, those are not mass market prices and the Blazer has always been a mass market vehicle. Not sure how much of the existing EV tax credit GM has used up with the Bolt, but I believe that Biden was unable to get his new legislation passed that would have provided more EV tax credits than allowed under the existing program, so that money will run out eventually.
My wife asked me about that rear hatch opening when you approach it. What if you do NOT want it to open? I could not answer that, but maybe you can. That could be a serious issue for someone that is being followed. If I have that feature and can deactivate it, then it would never be used. Pushing a button like our 2020 Cadillac is fine for us. Tell GM to remove that feature.

The Chevy Blazer EV looks very nice. I'm a fan of futuristic technology things including EV stuff. They'll be alot of fun. They'll be like in the sci fi movies like Total Recall, Blade Runner, Cyberpunk, Demolition Man, Robocop, and Terminator. What if their will be Blazer EV, Equinox EV, and Silverado EV as Chevy EV police vehicles? Robocop will like to drive them.

We made the mistake of buying a Chrysler Pasifica and before that a family member had a Ford Fiesta... both cars had multiple problems (including major transmission issues) and were nightmare to own. A co-worker owns 2003 Toyota Highlander and it still runs very good... do I need to say more?

My only issue with the blazer ev is the relatively low 290 mile range for a new product that doesnt do the 800v charging.
